  1. Hope not. I think they would arrive today before any bad weather hits. Seems like the cold is going to be more of a factor than the snow. Dress warmly…I remember we had a cold spell when I was at IU. The high was only 0 degrees and the low in the -10s. I don’t recall any cancellations from that cold outbreak.
  2. As I said before, I won’t argue with winning but will continue to be disappointed if we continue to show less effort. No more jogging down the floor getting beat time and time again, no more slow defensive rotations. We hardly showed effort against Kansas and got embarrassed and that continued into last game against Elon. Show effort, develop good habits, focus and get out with a injury-free win and that’s a success. Go Hoosiers!
  3. Interesting yet not surprising from what we’ve heard from many. Great teams come in with a business mindset. We appear to lack that and it’s not just this team. Year after year we seem to play uninspired basketball. Unfortunately this is something we just can’t change over night…which is even more of a cause for concern for this year’s team. We need to develop positive habits even if it’s against lousy teams. Glad to hear young guys like JHS/Gunn/Malik were serious. Being young and taking it serious, albeit against a far lesser opponent, is a positive.
  4. Let’s not compare ourselves to “other teams” and Iowa. We’re IU! The home of Robert Montgomery Knight…! The home of 5 NCAA championships…and as you claimed the other day, you and your age group helped bring home 3 of those banners! Hell, they may need create a banner for you. You of all should know that we’re not “other teams.” I’m disappointed. This is IU. We’re home to the #10 spot on the all-time wins list! We shouldn’t feel better about our lousy play because a Mississippi State or a Texas AM or a Iowa lost to a cupcake. This is IU! Banner Up, Scotty!
  5. If we want to make a deep run in the tournament, X needs to be playing.
  6. We played the #343 team in the country according to KenPom. Glad some younger guys got run…
  7. Thanks! 9 wins out of 35 games. That’s about a .250 winning percentage. Awful. That needs to change beginning at Iowa on 1/5.
  8. The 2001 team’s largest margin of defeat was 14 for the whole entire year. They lost some games early but fought hard. That team always played tough and with a chip on their shoulder - they had the “it factor.” With that said, I understand what you’re saying…our other good teams have had stretches of multiple Ls. What concerns me about this team is not so much the losses but the way we lost. We were non-competitive during long stretches of each game and got waxed. I would love for this team to develop the “IT factor.” However, we’re not a young team either. We’re a veteran team. Trayce and Race have had a combined 10 years in this program. I don’t have time to look it up, but would love to know their record away from Assembly Hall. Does anyone know? Can’t be good. I’m not saying it’s easy to win on the road, but winning on the road is a product of toughness and leadership. So far we’re 1-3 this year. Lastly, I’m not so sure any of our teams in the last 20 years have had “The It factor.” Nobody has made it past the Sweet 16. I suppose the 2008 team before hell froze and the 2013 team before Crean didn’t know how to coach against the zone. Regardless, no team since the ‘02 team has made it past the second weekend. We need this year’s team to change that…but it won’t happen unless things start changing quickly. I certainly hope this team changes…and I’ll be looking for positive change after these losses, I just feel far too often we’ve said that, with many of these same players. When will it begin to click for them? EDIT - there’s something about JHS and Malik….even Gunn that gives me hope. I believe these guys are tough and have “the it factor.” I’m excited to see how they develop into leaders in the future. They’re part of the necessary culture change that will make Indiana great again.
  9. It’s called “The IT factor.” That team had it. This team lacks it.
  10. This program/team needs a culture change. I know Woodson is trying to change that. I’m hoping JHS and Malik are the start of it.
  11. Maybe Gabe Cupps can be our version of Dick.
  12. Houston with a nice bounce back win. Winning convincingly on the road at UVA. That’s what great teams do….very tough minded team. Well coached.
  13. Any word on X? I hope I’m wrong…my total guess is foot fracture…if so, that could be his season.
  14. We’re not even in the same sphere as Kansas or Arizona. Typical IU team. Mediocre.
  15. I think we put up a fight this game. Would be a big win.
  16. I thought there were chants of “USA” during the game
  17. Thought Arizona was the better team tonight. Obviously score reflected that. Lloyd is a mega douche. Whines on every possession. I think we match up better with Kansas…but for the love of God, we need JHS playing and healthy! Surprised this back issue has now lasted a few games.
  18. I’m going to state what I think is obvious. Outside a couple good games against lesser competition, Bates’ IU career has been a disappointment so far. He’s been completely lost on defense this game and outside of a pull up jumper he’s been lost on offense. Sure would be nice for a breakout game from him on the National Stage.
  19. I got ridiculed for saying it in the pre game…but I can’t stress enough how important JHS to this team. We’re seeing it right now.
  20. I’m going to watch. We’re not beat…but him not healthy is “not great.”
