Houston 29-2. Sampson with a hell of a job turning that dormant program around. Incredible toughness.

Of course PSU laying an egg. MD is a fraudulent team. Them and PU with the easiest schedules in league play.

Typical Indiana. It’s been this way for years now. They get a monster win and players receive all the adulation from fans, national analysts only to lay a complete dud the following game. Not even surprised. Pretty typical.

The macro issue of this is that we were expecting (and told as much) that big jumps were being made from players like Bates…and yet we continue to get piss poor performances from him and others on the bench.

1-1 this week would suffice. Big ten scheduling did us no favors.

Tamar hasn’t lived up to the potential that he’s been billed to have…and this has nothing to do with his 5 star ranking…If memory serves me correctly, as recent as this summer reports were he was the most improved player and was ready to make a huge jump this year…unfortunately, outside of the MSU game (and maybe Arizona) we haven’t seen that player. When he’s in the game and begins rushing things and taking bad shots I think he actually becomes a net negative for the team. Finishing at the rim is something he needs to get better at as well. I hope Tamar proves me and others wrong, but he’s nearing the end of the his sophomore year… If he could be a consistent player it would take our team to a whole new level. I hope it begins to click and he takes it up a notch to the player we know he’s capable of being…just not going to hold my breath. With X hopefully coming back…I expect Tamar’s minutes to be diminished.

Staring down the barrel of a 4 game losing streak…which would make this loss even more inexplicable.

Great comeback that fell short. Had there been an even whistle, we win this game by 10 plus. The refs are blatantly awful. The NCAA/BIG ten need to seriously do something about this. On a slightly different note, but nonetheless equally frustrating and disappointing is Bates. What does he bring to the table, especially in road games? Nothing. In fact…he’s more of a liability. He’s now scored 0 points in 5 of our last 10 games. That’s not going to cut it…have to figure something out!

Bates is just not very good. Reports during the off-season was that he were going to see a really good player. I don’t see it, and quite frankly not sure if we will ever see it. He cannot play in road games.

Revenge game. We got punked at home. Play smart, hard and focused and win this game by 20!

Play focused, hard and smart. A big knock that the pundits go to for this program is winning on the road. Its true…we aren’t consistent. Win this game and separate ourselves!

NW was not on my list of teams we would have to be competing with for a double bye…but here we are. NW and their backcourt look legit.

No letdown game that we’ve been prone to in the past. I’m tired of Rutgers and their alum talking trash. Beat the hell out of them. Win by 20+ points.

We need to win this game. Going into this week we would’ve loved 2-0…but most would be be satisfied with a 1-1 mark. A couple things I’m looking for: -Our guard length disrupting smaller guards of PU (see us against Syracuse in ‘13). -TJDs quickness against Edey. I’m hoping and expecting to see TJD’s creative foot work and spin moves.

Geronimo is needed for that very reason. I don’t think it’s a question of if. Malik is a foul machine. I believe he fouled out in 13 minutes of game action against MD. Yikes.

Free throws discrepancy and poor guard play was the difference. Can ill afford to go 0-2 this week. Must beat PU and take the split. With a loss to MD, I expect we’ll be playing with some desperation.

Whatever Woodson is saying to work over the refs isn’t working. Get T’d up, yell, pull a Mccaffery, idk…but these foul call discrepancies against us (particularly on the road) is just blatantly awful. How can you win a game when the other team shoots 15 more free throws than you and takes double the amount of threes?

Have a friend at the game. Says it clear Race isn’t 100%.

In terms of consistency…Bates seems to consistently disappear in road games. Been waiting close to 2 years for him to have a breakout game away from home. Nada.

Maybe Custer jinxed MD with the halftime comment lol

Play focused, hard and smart. No let up on defense. Our success has also come due to the increase shot attempts Trayce has taken. Magic number should be 20 shots a game for Trayce….it usually ends well. Continuing on that theme (I’ve been hard on Geronimo) but I think it’s been good seeing Geronimo play more recently. Hopefully he comes back healthy. He’s been playing his role well and seems to understand he’s the fourth or 5th scoring option, while playing hard and getting put backs. Understanding his role has allowed more shot attempts for Trayce.
