the outlook on Asheville is really surprising.  much different from how i have experienced it and how i would describe it.  i love it there.  Hilton Head is pretty awesome.  have had many great times in Myrtle Beach as well.  to each their own.

It’s partly perspective. I was there evaluating possible retirement destinations. It was ruled out quickly. I’ve had great trips to New Orleans and Vegas, but I wouldn’t live in either

Retired down here in SC about 11 years ago. The whole state is nice. Charleston gets flooded easy like N'Orleans, but there are a lot of nice places to visit and live. We happen to live in Aiken (west side of the state, not far from Augusta, GA)

Love Upstate SC. Clear lakes, trout streams and mountains as a backdrop

Thought I heard somewhere that Asheville has two E's.

Best description I’ve heard of Asheville is “Appalachian hippies”. When I was there, people were shooting up in a park downtown in the middle of the day. My first reaction to Asheville was, “so this is where all the unemployed liberal arts grads go”.

On the other hand, Greenville SC, about 90 miles from AVille is really nice.

I haven't seen much basketball yet, but I did watch some of Gonzaga vs Auburn.  Boy, the Zags are fun to watch.  Disciplined with terrific bb IQ... and good shooters.  Few is such an exceptional coach.  Love how he/they recruit and build a roster.  Minimal OAD type players from what I've seen, so they always seem to have good experience.

IDK. To me they always resemble a semi-pro team with rented international players

  6. The countries that have managed this well are the Asia-Pacific countries that had previous experience with the SARS epidemic.,Their populations were willing to accept restrictions and contact tracing. I’ve traveled a lot in my career. It was common to see Asian travelers wearing masks long before COVID. The US and Europe hadn’t experienced an epidemic in more than a century.
