If we miss out on Dusty because we’re able to land Pearl or someone of similar caliber, I can live with that. I’d be pissed though if we miss out on Dusty because we commit to another year of mediocrity with Woodson

Dusty could be a 25 year coach here. If he could get more out of players from the pool he has to work with it only makes sense he could be very potent with better resources.

  2. How many 4 & 5 star players does Dusty have on his roster? How does FAU NIL compare to that of IU?

Serious questions I don't have time to research. I wouldn't be surprised if FAU has no 3 ️ players

I think Dusty would kill it here. I would love a proven P5 coach but don't see it happening.

Dusty always looks like he has fire in his veins on the sidelines.

Lilly Meister into the game before Mackenzie Holmes. A surprise, but hopefully due to Moren playing it safe with her star, rather than an indicator of Mack's availability.

Im not sure of the status Macs knee but we will need her vs Iowa.

  4. Fix the issues. Return to the powerhouse Blue Blood you once were and the noise goes away. Take accountability instead of passing blame on folks that support you from afar and have zero input on daily task.

Thats what losers do. Sit around and whine about how others are cheating or are to blame instead of identifying the problem and figuring out how to fix it.

You cant simply show up in stripes with a ball and think the brand will magically carry you. You have to work for it. Through the noise. Facing adversity. Or, take the easy way out and find someone else to blame your troubles on.

  5. If the ice cream stand has terrible ice cream or terrible service and folks go elsewhere leaving the Ice cream stand empty and with a bad reputation, is it the fault of the ice cream stand staff or the disgruntled customers who leave bad reviews?

People are blaming the fans on twitter which is ludacrous to me. Should we the fans “fake it” in an effort to trick recruits? Or should accountability set with those who wear the label and are being paid to provide a service?

more importantly, how many are with me in not believing that it is 100% that Woodson will be back.  things could still dictate that right?

Its hard to say with all the different rumors circulating. It could be that Kenya Hunter knows he's out and he is the IU connection to Montverde.

Maybe Woodson is staying and this years results and overall style of play has them realizing they don't want to play for Woodson and could be better utilized by Self while competing for a national title.

I heard in the office several days ago that Woodson was announcing “retirement” just before B1G tourney.

Lots of speculation happening and I don't  have a clue what to believe.

So we're loading up the money to buy Woody some players but we can't pony up the money to fire him and hire a coach that doesn't need the most expensive hired hands to be successful?? I can already see what's going to happen...we'll have the highest payroll in college basketball with mediocre results. Cool

Makes complete sense. Beef up NIL funds to buy the best players available in order to keep Woodson. Not surprising

  8. He will have his work cut out for him. He better round up some better advisors.

Roster rebuild through portal and he hasn't yet shown ability to properly construct a roster. His best team was constructed by Archie Miller and Kenya Hunter (also Archies recruiter) recruits JHS & Malik.

4 new teams will shake things up. USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon. IU better get it figured out quickly or it will be buried even deeper into the bottom of the league.

It takes an entire season for his players to "just now starting to come together" - Kel'el Ware.

Without Ware this season is pretty much winless but he dreams of X. Great games by X have been an anomaly and a great coach should know that.

Woodson does not have another 1st round draft pick lined up to win games next season. I predict another train wreck season.

2026 looks to be a staff/roster rebuild so knowing that trajectory, why wait? Instead, gather some momentum by restarting now.

If May goes to Ohio State, they will lock him down. Only way he makes the move to IU is for failing and at that point IU doesn't want him. Then again...

  9. I’m not completely convinced the new rumors aren't just to tame the noise a bit until the season plays out.

That said, we missed out terribly on Pat Kraft. The insanity around the Woodson hire & Woodson needing a coach to coach him while IU throws mega money at him is absurd. Cue the RMK Mickey mouse clip.

I admit, being stuck with it, any hope that made sense revolved around Matta being added. A lot of us have said this.

Rumor: Now its someones idea to retain him, let him clean house and bring on another coach to coach him to better results? Just get rid of Woodson and hire the advisor?

I dont care how nice he is. Or that he was so down to earth and took pictures with me and my family or he was once a great basketball player. He isn't the answer.

  10. Damage control before senior night crowd boos him out of Assembly Hall? Also two 2025 and two 2026 recruits in attendance.

Odd that Dolson himself hasn’t made a public statement. Still not surprised if he's here till 2027. IU admin has proven to be a card short of a full deck for a good while now.

I wouldn't get too worked up either way until the end of the season which is basically three games from now.

Whats really going to be good is if Dusty ends up at Ohio State and spanks IU on their home floor.

that's the thing.  all programs have bad years, but it's far too accepted at IU these days.  also how bad the bad years are.  there are a lot of programs with their bad years looking pretty darn good to me right now.

I long for the days of making the NCAAT is the norm and a down year is lower half of the top 25. We've sank so low as a program that just making the tournament is a good year.
