  1. I learned it the hard way. A car had hit a deer on the highway by my grandpas farm. Just down the road from Veale Creek Church. Ended up hobbling around in our pasture. I went to put it down and was about 25 yards aways and hit it in the ass with my shotgun. I was like WTF? pulled out my .45 and finished the job. Gave up shotguns after that. Muzzleloader for me is like a sniper rifle. Around here you don't really need much more than that. Yeah, I carried handguns while hunting even before I was 18. I even packed when I was in high school but left it in the truck. Never hurt anyone or thought about it. What's a permit? I don't need permission.
  2. Should I put maricle grow in my shapoo?
  3. My bald ass head is on YouTube now.
  4. I also built a replica of an XM 177 E2 I will not give it up or my M1 Garand or anything else.
  5. I started out with a TC Hawkeye percussion blackpowder rifle. 75 yards was max range. Got a .45 cal inline Knight muzzleloader for Christmas around 2005 and gave up shotguns. I bought Leopold scope and dialed that sucker in to 1.5 MOA at 200 yards. I got a Nikon Buckmaster on my .308, reload my own ammo and can drill a coke can at 500 yards.
  6. I once missed a buck that was about 15 yards away. I didn't know how I missed but when I went to look for a blood trail I found the sapling that I hit. I was probably 16 at the time. I know alot more about guns now but learned to not shoot sabots out of a smooth bore shotgun. I missed the biggest buck of my life because of this.
  7. If it was me I'd sell it and buy a replica. The mounts i have only cost me $250 each because Rustin was friends with Scott Robling. That shit isn't cheap. Last I saw I've $600+ for a head mount.
  8. I will have to wait until next year. Maybe I can do muzzleloader season. But I'm still recovering from a lumbar injury.
  9. Ever missed one because you forgot to look through the peep sight? Ugh, seeing the arrow fly over the shoulders...
  10. Ha, no but was about to shoot a turkey the day I got that buck. Have shot some squirrels while bow hunting. Those bastards get annoying and my grandma was always happy when we would bring her some squirrel meat.
  11. I'm feeling comfortable with the fact that Woodson played 4 years for Knight, seems to have a relationship with him, and can add all of his own experience to the mix. I'm guessing he will blend all that together and we will be satisfied. Discipline and fundamentals with a modern game plan is what I think we will see. And real defense.
  12. Man, so much goes into bow hunting. The bow, draw weight, type of arrow, weight of arrow, gr of head. Have to make sure the your practice heads are same grain of field tips. Haven't bow hunted in a few years due to lack of time. Now that I have the time start up again next year. I miss it.
  13. The one buck I got with a bow I had already drawn on a doe. This doe ducked under a fallen tree and I was about to release and the buck came out so I was already steady. Pretty easy 15 yrd shot. But yeah, seeing something like that would be hard to hold a bead on. Whew.
  14. FYI, for an official Boone and Crockett score there is a 60 day drying period. Typically 2-3" of shrinkage. Had a cousin shoot a buck that was 200" nontypical but chose to score it at around 180" typical. I was with him when he got the official score. If I saw the buck this guy got I'd probably miss it. Lol. My biggest comes in around 150".
  15. I agree, mostly do to the range modern crossbows have and ease of use. Drawing and holding a compound with 55# plus draw weight takes some effort.
  16. Bow hunting is definitely not as easy as it may look. Takes alot of practice and prep, scouting and luck. Have to put yourself within 30-40 yards. I've only got 1 buck with a bow and not nearly as big as that. I could go out today with my muzzleloader and shoot anything up to about 200 yards.
  17. I saw .38 special at Mesker too. They opened for REO Speedwagon. I forgot about Mesker.
  18. If I go to Starbucks it's for something other than their normal coffee. Just tastes bitter to me. I do like the non coffee drinks and some of the food stuff.
  19. Dunkin donuts > reused coffee grounds > toilet water > folgers > Starbucks. That's my rankings anyway. Just no to paper straws. Stainless steel ftw.
  20. When I say that I guess what I mean is I'm just tired of hearing about it everywhere every day. Can't even turn on the radio without hearing about it. Just get frustrated after awhile. I can only tune out so much of it. Yeah, some IU Basketball will be good for us fans. Just trying to bottle my optimism. Been burned enough.
  21. I would see .38 special again. Not going to see Warrant without Jani Lane as the Frontman. I think @FritzIam4IU will back me up
  22. Had a friend from high school who swore Roger Moore was the best James Bond and would fight you over it. I would tell him George Lazenby was the best and he would totally lose his shit.
  23. My wife and I had to get a test to attend a concert. We both did it at CVS drive through. It was self administered and unmonitered. To be real, this bullshit needs to be over with. We are going on 2 years now. It can't go on forever. My BIL died either from covid or after he got vaccinated. It's unfortunate and I wish it never happened. Honestly wish it was me because I'm sick of this stupid world. My point remains, this fear of a virus needs to stop asap.
  24. Ha, just saw that Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood was at the Costner show last night.
  25. Yeah, seating was comfortable and you didn't have to deal with being crowded or pushed around. Also, we stayed at Hotel Nashville. $100,within walking distance of everything downtown. Our room was basically a small apartment. 2 king beds, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen with everything but an oven. Will definitely be going back.
