I found this interesting from the Columbus Dispatch.... Coach Holtman knew it was shouldn't have counted with is back handed comment.... Since Holden went out of bounds under his own volition and not due to momentum caused by diving for a loose ball, for example, he should have not been permitted to be the first player to touch the ball on Thornton’s pass regardless of if he got at least one foot down before catching the ball. The situation is not a reviewable play. “Whether that was the case or not, it’s a live ball,” Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann said. “Officials are going to make the right call, they’re going to miss some calls, those things tend to usually even out.”

Man I just watched that video clip on Youtube and it is sooooo obvious that shot should not have counted! He was running down the floor and just veers of out of bounds past the time line, right where the coaches box is and then steps right back inbounds for the pass..... That is very bad officiating and I would be livid if I were Rutgers.....!!!

I find absolutely nothing wrong with what he said. I mean, seriously, .... if we want ANY KIND of respect or national recognition, we can't play like we did at Rutgers period. It's not losing to Rutgers, on the road, that was bad, it's HOW we lost, was VERY bad!

Speaking as a parent who's daughter played college softball..... Just like any parent would hope for their child, we wanted her to be/feel safe, comfortable and happy. We wanted the coach to be as genuine, honest and transparent with her, like when he recruited her. When she got on campus and officially on the team, things became quit the opposite. After one year, she transferred to a different school, that new coach's message and pitch to her did not waiver. I know this happens in all sports and it's unfortunate, we just witnessed it first hand.

Nebraska did beat (then) #21 Creighton by ten. I know they had Sam Griesel for that game, but still, they are a good team and will beat some good teams.

I did see that one.....He looks like and absolute stud! I love how aggressive he plays.

Any chance we could pull co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach Mark Hagen from Purdue now that Brohm is officially leaving?

Well, with the Brohm opting to leave Purdue for U of L,.....the transfer portal will get very interesting...... I'm sure we will seeing several players want to leave, especially not knowing who their new coach will be.

That's good new for most U of L fans. However, since you seem to be in the know,..... any potential good new on the horizon for IU football via the portal?....

I may be speaking for most of us here,.... correct me if I'm wrong, but after that performance against Rutgers was very discouraging moving forward. It's the "getting absolutely thumped by an unranked team" that's most disheartening. I know Rutgers is a VERY tough place to win, but getting waxed was a shocker. I wasn't even able to watch the game, but I kept checking the score and wondering why we were not going ahead. It brings back painful memories of various years past when we would win a big game then get drubbed the next game.

I'm all for a Steele, Lucas and Henderson combo too... I read on another message board, a guy posted that he has a Ball State football connection and said he was told that Steele was not interested in IU and IU wasn't seeking him out either..... I don't know if I believe that.

Now we just hope he will be in an IU jersey next year.......

I guess you could take it that way from the 3 or 4 cuss words there at the end. I honestly think he is STILL soooo pi$$ed off at how we played and looked against Rutgers. That style of play is just not in his DNA. He just gets mad thinking about their poor play and starts cussing. I know I've been there from coaching basketball and softball. I really get the feeling that Wednesday, we will see much tougher team on the floor. I'm not guaranteeing a win, I'm just saying Woody has probably lit a fire into the players. I sure like some of these players Coach Allen is trying to land.

Unfortunately right now, money is going to have to be a big part of the conversation to pull some of these players to IU. I hate to even speak these words. I want kids to play for Indiana University and the coaches....... That is still true for the big successful schools, but when you struggle, money now becomes a bigger chess piece.... sad

Purdue Football board is having a good time with IU football and it's recent transfers entering the portal right now..... Pretty sad how things have changed in just two years....... Here's to hoping for some light at the end of the the tunnel.

CBS Sports has us at #10 up one from #11. How can we get blown out on the road and move up one? They have Purdue up to #3.

I hate this one…. Until we get some wins and consistently…it’s inevitable.

Let me put it this way….UNC is a good team. We most likely got them at a good time of the year too. Granted, we are a good team too but I also wonder if the boys sort of took their ranking and Rutgers for granted… We are definitely better than a 15 point loss to Rutgers.
