  1. That game could go down as what was symbolic of restoring IU basketball. We might see it this year, I can guarantee we see it down the road of IU getting back to the IU brand of winning. Just have the feeling, that game will become legendary.
  2. This team stuggles playing clock/possession. It's going to be important if we want to get back to culture from 20 years ago. However, this team struggles with that style of play.
  3. Furthermore, IU does not have the personal that have been good under pressure. Call a timeout, sets up the extended defense. Problem was, needed to move faster. Lesson learned by team. Hopefully, it's part of the journey as the tourney is in reach.
  4. No doubt - kid has so much talent. Is he a natural pg? Hope him and Banks are the start for many years to come, talent from that region.
  5. This kid was a made a priority. IU went hard after him, even with interest from the kid that went to MSU. They see this kid as a team changer. No coincidence the next two recruiting classes have stud pgs who are winners and leaders.
  6. The rumors is being spread by a user that goes by Chris something. He talks so much that what he says become real. He has fabricated time after time and everyone over there jumps on it. Don't know how that happens. Its damaging when he does this. Heck, we signed Stevens according to him at one time.
  7. I think they are coming, and will. We have the recruiters and network. Look at how quick recruiting changes for Kentucky after down years. We already have a few real good commitments. Think about it, we were maybe a few months possibly away from the kid at Auburn who will be the top draft pick. The next two classes have point guards who are winners. Banks, just watch film on him - I don't know if we have had a kid like that in a long time.
  8. We have the right coach and staff. We need the players. This year is about the future, not the present. Although, it would be nice to finish a few of these games. We need one triple threat playmaker - just one.
  9. My reaction is, when your strength is TJD and you count on him down the stretch, it comes down to: -Making FT's -Playing through non called contact in the B1G -Playmaking by wings to take pressure off
  10. Hes not going to go zone. The Defense kept IU in the game. The choices were Kopp, Stewart, or Jordan G to guard. They went with a ball handler if they needed one to play against pressure. And i'm not calling him a great ball handler.....who do you have with your 2nd, 3rd and 4th pgs out.
  11. This fan, me, sees that this coaching staff is taking a bunch of role players, one score first pg, and TJD and have them in every game playing as hard as we seen the past 20 years. Next year three years, the kids signed up to come in are change makers and the growth of Bates, etc..... it is going to happen.
  12. I think what you described is that other teams have playmakers down the stretch where you can put the ball in their hands. Soon, this will be IU. Coach will get it done.
  13. They needed him in there as a releif ball handler. There was no other option that was available.
  14. I think this a little bit of a myth. Recruiting was not as in the publics eye with AAU and ratings; however Knight recruited elite athletes who had skill and an edge. They were still top 100 recruits, Mr. Basketballs, and from all over the country. And, most were recruited by other blue-bloods. It is also well documented, that kids stopped lining up to play for him and he stopped making recruiting a priority. As the game changed, he hired Mike Davis to open up recruiting in the south to adapt to the needs.
  15. This team is in the position to win everygame- missed free throws and a non existence 3pt game hurts. Not to mention, your best on ball defender is hurt. Culture and the future is the name of the game. They have a stud pg coming in, they will be able to develop differently in the offseason. Like with Archie, could they get some wins showing zone from time to time? Unlike Archie, this is not a packline gimmick defense and with the right pieces will be the cornerstone. Woodson's offese is similar to Villanova and once they get the right pieces, and the kid from overseas could be a big piece, I beleive the foundation is there to take off. They have a coach on the sideline who ran the Princeton Offense, they have a coach with Izzos playbook, they have a coach who changed thr NBA offensive look. They know offense and now its all about foundations for the program. A major issue, who has won before on this team? That is the question....all transfers never won, IU players left from Archie never won.
  16. True! With that being said, that on4 foul on that Jay was saying should not of been a foul - towards the end. The continously missed threes, and thebiut of bounds ball were momentum changers. In addition, still don't understand that and one.
  17. There was a circulation not to long ago, where Coach was out recruiting and Randy Wittman joined him yo watch a game. Can't get better than those two evaluating talent and talent seeing two Indiana stars and former NBA head coaches at their game.
  18. Without doubt. Touch fouls? MSU bumps on every play.
  19. After one of those runs, msu's point got up bumped Galloway yelled in his ear.....but early T goes to Kopp.
  20. The current commissioner and past are both basketball players- you would think they would change this.
  21. Same with me! All I can go by is what I see and first impressions when the tv cameras are not rolling. That is my only inside look this year that wasn't done by a marketing major or position.
  22. Not a rumor, and not sure if this is the correct space for here. Pre-game during shoot around at NW it was interesting. You would think only 2 players were suspended, maybe 3. Stewart and Durr were sitting together in full warmups on the bench with no enthusiasm. Bates was on the other side talking to Rob. X and Lander were fully enganged in warmup with energy. To me, I was thinking no way X, Lander and maybe Bates is out. Made sense at the time that maybe it was true with Steward and Durr. Occasionally, Stewart would have a ball roll his way and he would get up and chuck a long 3. Again, this was during shoot around, not during the team warmup before opening tip. So, back to your question - based on engagement with the team, one has to think others took notice, which can be linked to playing time. My first impression of these players live was from what was mentioned above.
  23. I hope it is good. But, that doesnt sound great. Unless you get true rest, it might play throughout the season. Nagging injuries without rest can take a toll.
  24. One thing that is missing is, before the Purdue game, he was injured. We don't know the extent. Stats have changed a little since then. He might be grinding it out.
