  1. For sure, like I said before, Archie didn't just roll a ball out in practice and leave. Nor did Crean on Defense. In-fact Crean was a very fundamental defensive coach- his philosophy was to have more possesions and be as fast on O as possible, which played into defensive. Some of our best defenders in modern days were under Crean. Nor, did AAU coaches, trainers, high school coaches, little league, parents/guardians- all teach and teach well. There is a defensive change in schematics, philosophy, angles, etc. Archie aslo worked on offensive. Credit goes to Woodson and staff. They have these kids playing with a whole new idenity, together. Throw in 3 out 5 starters are new and they are playing together says something.
  2. Interesting thought. I will say, there are three new players on the starting unit and Bates leading the way in the second. Trayce and Race are being asked to defend differently, such as leaving their assignment to block. Trayce even said in an interview they had to break habits, and it was difficult with closeouts, etc. They are ahead on Defense because Woodson made it a priority. They still have a ways to go. I have listened to just about every interview since the hire. Archie didn't just roll a ball out and leave on Offense and Defense. If anything, I think the Defense would be more difficult to transition because of the style, switching, in your face pick up your assignment. They are no longer sitting back.
  3. Offensive rebounds are important; however you have to balance 5 crashing the boards and also getting back on transition defense. You can't always have both. Also, they are using the bump and jump technique which NBA and teams like MSU use. This will take some time to master. They wil improve.
  4. Btn transitioned quicker to a replay football game then to our live IU game. This team is only going to get better and offense is only going to become more natural. Good times!!!
  5. Coach need to make adjustments and bring in an offensive staff. With that being said, for the rumor mentioned in this thread - can you imagine a team down south hiring a coach who hasn't beat a power5 team this year? Hopefully there is a plan for the offense and especially the line.
  6. Every throw is on the run and scramble.
  7. Allen has said it in the past, he needs and wants a head coach on offense. He hired one, lost him to a head coaching gig, and my assumption is that he didn't want to go through that again.
  8. They lost identity on D, tried to play like Alabama and Georgia - the line and depth not setup for that. Offense, it hurts that two talented RB transferred out, when we needed them. Oline has not been recruited and developed, and little speed at WR once Whop left and DJ got hurt. We need a creative play caller. Got to put points on the board, somehow.
  9. I could see coach playing multiple pgs at once. He has a three guard lineup going on right now.
  10. Since Coach Allen took over, IU has struggled in the Special Teams and Offense. There of course was that one good year where the O looked good. Last year, everyone saw the challenges, especially with the line; however, Penix was amazing before injury.
  11. IU defense lost it's identity. They need to go back to causing confusion and swarm D. Too much one on one. We don't have the depth, speed, personal. Offense throw the $$$ at Justin Frye. Could solve two areas with one hire.
  12. If we have to hear we are going to play who can with us game one more time.....change the staff not the qb. Who is assessing this and making decisions?
  13. Allen has been down the road with something like this before when he made the change a few years ago. My assumption is that Allen went with Sheridan because he values stability when Coach D became a head coach.
  14. Finished the entire podcast a few seconds ago. Raised over 100k to destribute and some of the additonal deals were from some food sources. Pro camp told them they had more fans then the likes of kansas and kentucky, and those two gave away free tickets. Have to listen to get full details.
  15. From podcast: Around 3,300 at Fanfest, 120 or so at the procamp. Idea was to hold it in the new Volleyball arena, would of packed it. Wanted the experience to be at AH, which makes sense. Not bad, not bad. First year, only going to grow and get better. 3000+ is still a ton of fans.
  16. They have the best in the buisness, by many experts opinions. Injuries happened with the staff that is now at Alabama. People have to blame someone right? IU does not have depth, that is where the problem is. Our highly rated classes still are in development and some are leaving because they need to wait.
  17. Maybe, maybe not. If, lets say there were 2,000 fans there and at $10+ a ticket, that can get each player maybe 1k for a few hours of work. This, after also donating to charity. Not bad Should there be more fans? Without doubt that would of been nice. Players were hyping it on social media.
  18. Without any doubt. They are some of the few who have evidence and proof to connections to the program and fanbase. All someone has to do is listen to the Fife, Hunter, etc. Interviews. What is more interesting to me is that other platforms who pickup any IU sports news story has not pushed this event, when its for the kids. Those other platforms have no problem posting everything else. I get that peegs.com is behind this; however, this is a big event to the basketball programs, and those other platforms make a profit from the IU brand and the names of the players without ever having to give them a dime.
  19. Hope there is a nice turnout. When I was at IU, professors use to cancel class if it conflicted with game day. We use to wakeup to support all charity events that supported thr Library from IU basketball. Dun Meadow was packed for Kinghts exit speech. After down seasons, many, and IU football having the season they are after all the hype - IU athletics needs to work on hype. Outreach, etc. Not sure if it will ever go back to the late 90's; however you got to try.
  20. He made the decision and approved the event. You don't just change practice and allow anyone to use assembly hall. They want this event!
  21. Oops, just mentioned in NIL thread about this not knowing it was posted already. HoosierHystrcs, got to love the effort and their inside thhe program and beyond network.
  22. Surprised not mentioned: Coach Knight to the event happening soon.
  23. Last year we were riding takeaways, good field position and a healthy confidence Penix. Stevie Scott as a premier blocker and Whop as someone that can spread the field and demand attention.
  24. One of Coach H's 7 blocks of limestone was Rodger Saffold. Recruiting is the name of the game. Have to get the right personality in their to recruit this position and make it a priority. Isn't there an IU alum that went from coaching BC to UCLA that might of been interested in returning before going to UCLA? Coach Allen needs to hire the head coach of the offence - he was able to do that for a year - there has to be another solution.
