  1. He lost his only signed recruit. Doesn't have inroads on any others at the moment. Even from an outsider/layman's POV, he isn't outworking the competition for said new recruits. And he now has an even bigger target for his competition's negative recruiting against him. CMW better be the second coming of Harry Houdini to get out of this clusterf---
  2. The harsh truth is this won't happen every 3-4 years if the program simply hired high-level, experienced college coaches right from the beginning.
  3. Exactly. Not only are you teaching kids how to play basketball, you're instilling confidence in them and the people they play for. It's not rocket science.
  4. That makes our FT and 3pt % look amazing in comparison!
  5. Liam was probably like, “Damn, I’ve got a better work ethic than this guy, AND I’M A TEENAGER!”
  6. It’s ultimately conjecture unless we hear exactly why later, but it’s been said that Woodson didn’t prioritize McNeeley after he signed. - He’s your only recruit! There is nobody else to split time with. - Make your recruits believe they will be utilized! They are players who want to play. Why prematurely jeopardize that?? - Liam listened to Self (or whoever gets him) simply because he’s not getting the adequate attention from CMW. - And if that inattentiveness was months-long, shame on CMW.
  7. This whole McNeeley situation better scare Woodson. Or at least piss him off. If it doesn't, it's a real problem. There is ZERO margin for error. There is ZERO leeway for coasting on laurels' past. This is a dog-eat-dog world and you better be on AT ALL F---ING TIME. Them's the breaks. Don't like it, don't do it. But if you want to play the game, you better be a SHARK and you better be hungry.
  8. Again, this isn't a situation where the school had a coaching change and the player wanted out. THE COACH IS STAYING and the player says "no thanks". 😬
  9. I know he's not going to Maryland. I just think it would be hilarious if he followed Queen there. Meanwhile, I'm longing for the Mike Davis days when "help is on the way"... at least he thought he had some.
  10. This admin could F up a peanut butter sandwich
  11. He simply validated what so many have stated and believed here.
  12. God, the optics of this are just so, so bad. There is absolutely no way to spin a positive on this one. Our rivals and enemies must be laughing so hard it hurts.
  13. So... no Montverde pipeline anymore, I guess.
  14. What stinks for me as a fan is the fact that buying players for the now eliminates the (potential) joy of seeing some develop and grow in their careers. Some players don't get it until they're upperclassmen. Watching Victor Oladipo become Victor OLADIPO!! took time, and it was a wonderful thing to see. His blossoming was enjoyable because of where he started and where he ended up. It's highly unlikely Kaleb Banks or CJ Gunn return -- and I mean this with the utmost sincerity -- it sucks that we won't get the chance to see their possible growth. Of course they are responsible for their own effort, but the downside to constantly buying players is that we eliminate the chances of seeing the next Haston, Wilmont, Evans, Coverdale, etc. growing and succeeding (and truly becoming) Indiana Hoosiers.
  15. I'm sure there will be some sacrificial lambs brought to slaughter to appease the fanbase and try to convince us things will be different & better next season. So, who will be on the block? Who should be? I'm assuming the majority of fans probably want Ya, Hunter and Armond Hill gone. Does Cheaney stay? Have Walsh, Hulls and Surface done enough to warrant retention?
  16. Whether or not CMW believed/s his status was ever in jeopardy, the simple release of this report should be a warning shot that he takes very seriously. And make no mistake, his work is cut out for him. He simply can't have double-digit losses. Has to contend for a Big Ten title. Has to make the second weekend in March Madness. Anything less and he's gone. This ain't no retirement gig... it's time for him to work his ass off like never before.
  17. Totally agree. It's definitely a wealth of source material that's challenging to streamline. And fair or not, the truncation of some elements took away (for me) the emotional weight and potential effectiveness of several important "gut punch" story beats: the familial revelation and Paul's turn. Other than that, my only gripe comes from the handling of the Harkonnens/Sardukar -- the "less is more" approach in the first film made them mysterious and extremely dangerous. Seeing more of them in 2 took away that danger, and what we did see wasn't original enough. A lot of their presentation fell into classic 'villain' trope territory. That said, there were a ton of positives. The cinematography, locations & sets, sound design, costuming and casting were superb. Javier Bardem brought a nice bit of levity, while Zendaya handled Chani wonderfully, giving us exactly what we needed emotionally, while foreshadowing so much that is still to come.
  18. If Woodson is dead-set on playing "inside-out", why would someone like Reneau want to transfer away? There's already a desire to get the ball to him in the post, and a lot of the offense goes through him. With Ware gone, he would be an even bigger focal point next year. He would likely be the face of the team with a pretty sizable NIL deal. If Ware can generate NBA interest from this season, certainly Malik has the possibility to do that in Bloomington next year. Only logical reasons I can think of are: - Wants to be on a "better"/more well-balanced team - Wants to be closer to home
