The passes in the game by both teams were consistent.... just bad.  I have attended 8th grade bb games in Colorado, which does not compare to Indiana grade school basketball...

where the execution on the court was better than what was displayed by both Denver an Portland on the floor Friday night.  If this is the best of  NBA playoff basketball... heaven help us

Couple air balled layups/floaters, there were attempted put backs as offensive rebounds where I SWEAR they were releasing the ball without even looking at the basket. You had two passes by that center that about went into the 12th row, at the end of one OT out of a Time Out that guard for Denver was dribble AWAY from the three point line with 4 seconds to go, turns and jacks a 32-34ft three partially fading away when he had just been 7 feet close two seconds earlier. What the HECK?!

these are just plays frozen in my mind...at one point I looked at my son and said “do either of these teams want to win the game? There’s not a drop of sensible concentration going on.”

You are correct. If it was not for the fact that it was a Denver team.... I would have turned the game off much earlier than it ended.  It really was horrible.  And to think these guys get paid millions to put on an exhibition like that.

One other thing.  Jokic recorded the most minutes played in an NBA game by a seven footer... I think it was over 61 minutes.  Did I mention poor coaching also ?  With 7 minutes left in regulation... I told my son the "Joker" was gassed, and Plumlee needed to come in for him... instead "Joker" stayed in all four over times, and only scored two points.

Hey Vol.... you deserve a medal for lasting through that nightmare, on Friday night.... that some called epic.  Epic ?  Only in that is was horrible basketball.

Hey I also got a kick out of ESPN this morning (almost never watch that network, but wanted to see the Bucks highlights again), and they led with this “amazing game that was four OT’s and it was an intense battle from a slow start in the first quarter then picked up.” One gal said “if you watched the intensity in the four OT’s and missed the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters it was the same.”

it was at that point I realized how fake all the news even was. The ONLY thing memorable of that game was four OT’s. It was such bad basketball being played by BOTH teams on BOTH ends and that’s part of the reason it went to four OT’s.

It was pure comedy. My 14 year old son and I stayed up for two reasons...to see how long this tragedy would go and to just enjoy keeping track of the number of boneheaded passes, shots and decisions by players and coaches. Lol

The Denver Nuggets went four overtimes on the road Friday night against Portland. Game ended after midnight,  Denver time, before Portland pulled it out by two. So, I doubt many of you watched the game. And you are better for it.  If it were not the Nuggets, I would have turned the game off long before any of the overtimes. Both teams played crappy.  Lousy passing.  Poor shot selection.  And I don't think either team ever hear of the word..... defense !

I watched it. Ironically everyone is talking as though it was such an epic game and the only thing epic about it was the 4 OT’s

Budenholzer spent nearly 2 decades under Popovich. It shows. In more than one way.

Are you thinking, in game adjustments, team assembly, and player development to name three?

i agree the Bucks are DO fortunate...plus being from a small market team he is not afraid to compete with the big boys from some place like Milwaukee

Greek Freak is playing some unstoppable ball, and Irving is playing some boneheadedly bad iso ball. Bucks are the better team right now. Giannis sets the tone.

Much more than just shooting, when he is relentlessly attacking the rim and Boston tries to stop him it’s a fouling fest with repeat trips to the line and that in turn opens up the shooters. Stevens made an “adjustment” that backfired - Baynes, would expect to see more of him and Horford needs to step it up or this is over for the C’s

I love the Bucks calm and business like demeanor. If you watch the press conferences every guy is on the same page. They really believe it’s all about them focusing on themselves and each doing what their job is. And their bench seems to all have an edge to them.

but the big variable with this team always seems to be Middleton. If he’s on his A Game they’re SO hard to beat. I’ve watched his growth as a player and it’s pretty amazing. I can’t quite pin what player(s) he reminds me of. He isn’t a great athlet’s but it’s VERY crafty and knows how to create space, pick his spots, and take advantage of miss matches. Love his game because it is NOT flashy. He’s bland like Duncan and crafty like Reggie Miller.

    😬🦌

I’m having fun as a Bucks fan! This team is assembled SO well...

  8. Let’s flip this tangent convo...what would the increased offensive rules mean to some of the players of that past if they got to play in them? What could Magic do when almost no one can physically touch him? Jordan? Thomas? Omg...Thomas...Dominique?!

I wasn't a big LeBron fan at first. Believe it or not, I started to come around to him when the Mavs beat the Heat in the finals. I was glad to see the super team get shattered, but to me, in a way, that was him paying his dues. Him going back to Cleveland the way he did sold me. Is he perfect? No, but neither was Jordan, Wilt, Russell, etc etc.

Everyone likes to do the Jordan comparison. If you want this era's Jordan, it was Kobe, not LeBron. LeBron was this era's Magic.

When McHale closed line Rambis it was just a regular foul and today he would be suspended for 20 games.

Yup. A tech would mean you beat a guy to the GROUND, and maybe sent him to the hospital. Even Lebron would be SO shell shocked. BUT with his frame if he had lived then he probably would’ve been tough and gosh that would’ve made him awesome.

There is no doubt RW is quite the talent and plays hard.  I could care less if wants to play hero ball with his high volume shooting.  There are plenty of players such as that in the league.   I always like Iverson. Rodman too.  He was always getting into others heads.

I find it hard to like Westbrook because everything seems to be about him.  He seems to have these side agendas against other teams that he has going internally because he channels his energy negatively into what appears to be taunts.  How does this impact his teammates positively. The only player's head he seems to get into is his own.    Can you imagine if snarled at or did one of his muscle flexes vs the Bad Boy pistons.

Can you imagine 80-90% of these “jack it from the arc” players playing in the 80s-90s and learning that the way we defend that is play in your face and let you drive and when you get to the rim foul you so fricken hard you never want to drive again? 😂

i youtubed a video of hard fouls in the NBA back then and my son watched it and he just sat there jaw dropped...

I can’t disagree with that. I want to, but I can’t. I could see it going a different way too, but what you laid out is certainly possible.

Honestly that’s all I’m saying, that’s it’s possible. Maybe barely probable. But I wouldn’t bet my bicycle let alone my house. Lol

No chance. Not being disrespectful, but no, Bucks aren't ready. They may well not make it to the Finals in any event.

Not taking it disrespectful at all. Logically as far as history goes the Bucks should not stand a chance because every team needs a few years to learn how to get to and win in the finals. So I’m against the eight ball already..but messages boards are about fun so I’m gonna stick my neck out.

Ive followed the NBA for many years and I believe the Bucks have “it.” I could write 3-4 paragraphs why but suffice it to say this is my stand...

Bucks beat the Celtics in 6 games. Bucks beat the Raptors in 6. Bucks lose to the Warriors in 6 and most fans look at each other saying “omg they were a couple shots from forcing a game 7!”

Thats my prediction. I believe this Bucks team is WAY different than most young and Talented teams. Yes they’re a talented but also mature beyond their years. They’re not even close to the same team they were last year at this time. Not close.

Just a general comment. Imagine being a GM or All Star during the Jordan years. Guys like Reggie, Patrick Ewing, Malone/Stockton, Barkley...all the other good to great teams like Pacers, Knicks, Suns, Seattle, Cavaliers,etc....never having a real chance to win a title because of Jordan.

Feel the same way now as it relates to Golden St. We can spend all season long talking about our teams but as it stands no one is beating Warriors. It's going to take players in the off season to add 1 if not 2 all star type players to their teams to beat them. Just don't see how it's possible honestly. I love watching greatness perform. But when you go into a season knowing you have less than 5% chance of ultimate success the league becomes boring, right? Or am I looking at it the wrong way. Should I just sit back and cheer for the one team (West or East) that can somehow pull off the upset of all upsets by beating GSW 4x?

I believe that the Bucks COULD upset the Warriors in a seven game series IF they can hold home court in the first two and steal ONE on the road. I think they have enough shooters around Giannis that it’s POSSIBLE. I give it better than a 5% chance for sure. But as a Bucks fan I’m pulling for ANYONE to upset the Warriors. Lol

I don’t know how good he can’t become, that’s hurting my mind. 😀

He could become the most dominant player in the game. But he’d need to develop a legit jumper / outside shot to do so. That’s a sizesble hole in his game. He’s already a top 5-10 player, and he’s still young and improving.

    Yes nice typo Hans... 🤦🏻‍♂️

When I see his continued development, his defense and rebounding and passing for a big, and his outside shot has gone from non-existent to the point where he’s allowed to at least shoot now...gosh...if he can stay healthy for a long time...

With Vic they were contending for the top 2-3 in the East. With Vic they took the Cavs to 7 in the playoffs last year and this season’s squad was better. They would’ve had a better seed with Vic, and would’ve done better for sure

I don’t follow the Pacers as closely as all of you do but seriously...come on...hoe many teams could lose their top player and not show the impact? The fact that the Pacers still stayed where they were and made the playoffs is at least a small win. Losing a player of Vic’s caliber changes way more than just his stats.

imagine if the Bucks had lost Giannis? Or the rockets lost James? Would their fans be irrational to complain that they lost in the first round and struggled to compete? Plus it’s not like the Pacers have a few stars...it appears to be a team built around Vic being the man and everyone complimenting around HIM. So of course they’re gonna look like a shadow of what they should be. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes those guys mentioned stayed in one place but that will be a very rare site going forward and those players played in a  different era.  Today these guys grew up being friends playing AAU ball and doesn't have that hatred that players back then had for their opponents like they did back when those others played.

    Agreed...times have changed...
