The Knicks front office is so bad lol

I thought DALLAS had a chance to be a playoff team with him and Doncic but man I didn’t see that jump from Doncic. Contrasting the Dallas front office with the Knicks ....

I love seeing Kylie struggle. I soak it in.

and that’s an auto correct and I’m gonna leave it right there...

Pacers win again and now are 20-9  with a win against Sacramento.  Had 7 in double figures which is happening a lot and Justin Holiday had 8 so close to 8 in double figures.  Being a balance team is what is helping the Pacers to this record and I hope when VO comes back he won't think he has to score 25 a game.  Since the 0-3 start the Pacers has the 3rd best record in the NBA.

I’m headed to the bucks pacers game Sunday. Should be an AWESOME game!

I mean it looks like a nuclear bomb hit the island. Very sad so many more are going to learn those that didn’t get out didn’t survive.

What makes it worse is that they’re so poor it’s not like they have resources to build new things quickly.

It's funny how some dogs seem to be born with the "fetch" instinct and some aren't. In addition to Arielle (dog in my previous post), we had one of her older sisters (Addison, died 2 years ago). Biological sisters, different litters. Addison was a fetching MACHINE. Balls, her Kong, whatever stuffed toy she hadn't destroyed, sticks...anything. And I can count on one hand the times she quit before whatever human was playing with her. She had been doing that since the time she was 6 months old.

Arielle....zero desire to play fetch, even as a pup. She might bring something back once, then just lose interest and lay down. Now, she'd chase her sister or my sister in law's dog as long as they would run.

When I throw a ball my Kerby Sue looks at me like I’m an idiot.

    • I have no idea why we would recruit to 'force' a transfer.  That's not a good way to operate in my mind.
    • No one we have recruited in the 2020 class projects as an early NBA entrant (and, yes, I've heard of Oladipo)
    • Redshirting is fine, and I wish it was used more.  But, that strategy has to be weighed against available scholarships.  It appears Archie has decided to fill up in 2020, which could limit 2021.  I'm okay with that within the boundaries of the 13 scholarships.   But, a class of 5 means the oversign, and 6 means goes one step beyond that.

You think kids won’t transfer on their own? Not being forced? It happens ALL the time now. Home sick, playing time, girl friend, I didn’t like the food at my school, omg people transfer for all kinds of things. Some graduate early and grad transfer my point is it happens quite often.

if you have say 6-8 4 star recruits on your team sorry at least 1-2 find a way to go pro before senior year.

I’d say it’s a rare day anymore that if you sign 4-5 guys they all are there in four years. 🤷🏻‍♂️ That’s not a good or bad thing it’s just basketball today.

so I don’t consider that a big issue in any one particular class. 15-20 years ago? Absolutely

Class size does not matter if you're UK or Duke.  For IU to compete at a national level, class size and roster stability are critical.  Upper-class leadership combined with talented youth will bring success.

So you think typically speaking the majority of classes are all going to stay for their four year rides? That typically if we sign a 3,4,5 man class most of the time the classes will all stay four years each?

I read somewhere that the Bucks signs the corpse of Kyle Korver.  I am not sure if he can still play.  He's been around forever.  Having a shooter around Giannis doesn't hurt combatting the wall that playoff teams tried to put on him.

As a Bucks fan I’m thrilled they signed him. My expectations are that he'll help on the regular season grind.

Whether or not the Bucks are contenders comes down to the development of the outside shot of Giannis. I guess we’ll see.

on a side note what type of player would have you expected a team like the Bucks to sign considering they were completely up against the cap limit? The Sixers were trying to sign Korver so the net gain of the swing of preventing him from going to their main competition in the east and signing him themselves sounds like a pretty smart move in my mind. He helps with the bench some, brings leadership and experience, virtually Zero off court risk, and steal one from the Sixers.

As a Bucks fan glad they signed him.

Too high: Bucks, Rockets, Celtics, Raptors, Nets, Heat

Too low: Clippers, Jazz, GS (assuming Klay comes back ready to go midseason), Pacers

If Durant is out the entire year I'm not sure the Nets are better than they were last season? Is DeAndre Jordan an upgrade over Jarrett Allen at this point? I almost think they downgraded at that position, and then they lost several other glue guys like Dudley. I think they lost 7-8 guys from last seasons surprising team.

Based on your suggestions who’s your top 10 then?

i always get confused over these rankings also because I assume they mean how good they’ll be out of the gates, and not what they necessarily mean they’ll end up at seasons end.

If you are Milwaukee, you have to at least consider Westbrook, right?  I mean, him and the Greek Freak, could compliment each other very well and open up the paint for him.

I’m a Bucks fan and I would be devastated if they traded for Westbrook.

Haven't cared for the NBA for years now.  I guess I'm just not a fan of the league, but am (was) a fan of a team.  Today's NBA is about forming a few loaded teams and hyping (pimping) the heck out of them.  Small market teams may occasionally draft or acquire a highly talented guy, but it's only inevitable that he will not be there for long.

For those that like the NBA, that's fine and good for them.  I see it more as a few Globetrotter teams and a bunch of Washington Generals teams (only the Generals DO get to win games when they don't really count).

I honestly thought that up to even a few years ago. But I’ve always thought the Spurs as a small market team was the only that could do it...then after Golden State, Toronto, and the Bucks, etc.and then larger market teams like Atlanta, Chicago and New York struggling to be good or consistently good...well it opened my eyes to the fact that I couldn’t simply say “oh the whole league is the Big Market teams and superstars going to those teams. That isn’t supported by the reality of the past 10 years.

Other negatives about the NBA night still have validity such as watering down talent, skill being replaced by “potential,” etc all seem to have something to them in my opinion.

  11. 12 minutes ago, IU Scott said:

Yes it is watered down because there are plenty of players on rosters that are not NBA quality players.  With 24 teams the talent would be dispersed more evenly and every team would have a few quality players.

Totally agree with you Scott, it’s watered down. Only in a watered down league can you be first round draft picks year after year based on pure raw athletic ability and stick on teams.

I'll leave it at this I'm going to hold judgment until after this free agent Market season. But this is the reality so far

We have cap space but that doesn't do you a lot of good if nobody wants to come to you.

McDermott was pretty disappointing last season, OQuinn brought nothing.  We've drafted second round players in the first round two years in a row.  Leaf may never be an NBA player after his rookie contract.

It sure feels like there’s A LOT of free agents this off season. I feel like anyone who has cap space is going to be able to add something. But I could be wrong. Just saw a list of UFA and it was pretty darn long.
