Abreu is a bust (could use just a hint of his mvp season). The starting rotation is broken (agreed re:Verlander however). The daunted 7-8-9 combo of Abreu, Pressley, and Hader has been abominable. Fortunately it’s a long season. Work these kinks out and have some midseason success.
The union guy I have to deal with is a huge Astros fan...I swear he has every color of the rainbow in hats and jerseys (they don't make controllers dress very professionally )...He's already on the "fire Espada" train...
I told him he needs to be an IU fan

I have so many autographed items...My last house had a full sized finished basement and I had items hanging up/on display everywhere. Now I have much less on display in my office. I was able to get a photo of me with Ryne Sandberg that we printed out and got him to sign on same series.
Some of my highlights in my collection are: Jackie Robinson, Peyton Manning, Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ryne Sandberg, Cal Ripken Jr., Brooks Robinson, Fergie Jenkins, Bill Buckner (1st autograph ever when I was 5), Mark Grace, Walter Payton, Dick Butkus, Gale Sayers, Brian Urlacher, and way more...even Jimmy Buffett, John Mellencamp, and Dr. Seuss from non-sports 😄.
To your comment about other people signing for a celebrity, I believe it was Pete Rose who said he used to hire little old ladies to sign his fan mail back in his playing days 🤣
I guess I just never collected things...Don't know why...I had a ton of autographs of Indy 500 drivers...Rutherford (my favorite...very nice man dealing with kids), Foyt (begrudgingly), Jones, Jimmy Clark...Some Reds autographs...But I'd lose them, or they'd be purged by Mom...

All the talk about Jakai being an "X factor" got me looking around...And I found this interview...
Not hard to root for this kid...

... but can he shoot? 😄
That IS the question, but...
What I saw when I watched him in high school (3 full games) was a kid who is a legit, no nonsense bulldog. Very tough and determined...He'll eventually be a lockdown defender, and he'll contribute to any team he plays on doing the little things that help you win...
He's definitely a slasher going to the rim, but he has some work to do before he's a real offensive threat...
If he ever DOES get that outside shot working, look out...

I’ve given up on earbuds. I had a pair of iPod Pros…lasted 13 months. Sennheiser true wireless 3s….8 months.
I bought $20 jawbone transmitter from Amazon and it’s been wonderful.
Yeah, that's why I didn't go $200 plus again...they're all fragile...
Technics makes the AZ60 and 80, but they're pricier...The ones I bought were a bargain...

Tuned into the Angels-Reds just in time to see Tyler Stephenson go 2nd deck Big Fly...

So bringing this back...
My Bose QC2s broke (plastic piece broke off when I was changing the earpiece)...
Didn't want to all out again, so I bought these Technics AZ40s from Amazon. Awesome sound for $70 bucks. As good as the Bang and Olufsens or Bose that I've had...

Two Skylines: 4th & Sycamore and 6th & Vine.
Frisch's....not really. There's one about 2 miles from the stadium, but not exactly an area the T-Swizzle crowd would want to stroll around in after dark. Not the worst part of the city, but not exactly hospitable. Let's put it this way....I would walk there after dark, but I'd be carrying.
When I was a kid growing up, Frisch's was one of only 3 restaurants in Martinsville...And it was a drive up place with the tray on the window deal...Loved a Big Boy...
And when I went with my friends to Riverfront, of course we always had to have some Skyline...

Yes, I think so...I've always thought so...

An autographed baseball can be something of value or to display. A selfie can be framed and diplayed, but has little value beyond the person in the photo.
Even one that says "Mickey Mantle" but was signed by Pete Previte?
I'd really kinda forgot that aspect...Yeah, they do have value...But I'd never sell them...

My office is downtown Cincinnati about 4 blocks from Paycor Stadium, and I swear the Taylor Swift phenomenon must have been like what the Beatles or Elvis must have been like. The two concerts were Friday and Saturday night. There were people lining up Wednesday night for when the merchandise truck opened Thursday at noon.
The big question is...
Is there a Frisch's and/or a Skyline within walking distance?

Here's a trivia question for you or any of the other Reds fans that are here.....
There are a lot of sons and a few grandsons from the Big Red Machine dynasty that played in the big leagues. Who is the only son of a 1975-76 Reds World Series champion player to also win a World Series ring?
I know...But I'm not a Reds fan

My buddies kid is a rare 8 year old. He loves autographs vs photos. Has quite the collection going so far.
Well, at least he knows it was signed by Skeens himself...
Yankees lore says that clubhouse man Pete Previte used to sign dozens of balls for Micky Mantle

So I don't get the point of autographs any more...
Wasn't it always to "prove" you met someone? With every person on the planet having a camera in their pocket, wouldn't a pic accomplish the same thing, only better? Plus, no writer's cramp

Ironically I heard a commentator mention that Bruce Pearl plays 10 deep. I didn’t go look it up to verify.
Last year, Auburn didn't have any player over 25 mpg, and 10 over 14 mpg...So, yeah...
