  1. One expectation I won’t have at the beginning of next season: if we don’t systematically destroy some of our first few “real” opponents, I’m not going to freak out. This is a ton of new talent that has never played together before. It may take some time to gel. Now one expectation I will have is that the Kennesaw States and Southwest Saskatchewan A&Ts of the world won’t be close and that we’re not getting blown out in those first few “real” games.
  2. Mark Pope has already made contact. “Hey….c’mon down..none of those pesky academic standards here.”
  3. It was actually a souvenir blanket. They stitched it up real quick.
  4. Ballo-Ware is a breakeven, maybe a slight edge to Ware. Rice/Carlyle/Tucker for Gunn/Banks/X, that’s not even a fair comparison. I took Sparks out since he was a F and not a G/wing, but same difference.
  5. Woodson could win #6 and people would complain that we weren’t undefeated. We could go undefeated and people would complain that we got lucky too many times. The wins weren’t convincing enough. We could go undefeated and win every game by 30 and the same people would complain that it wasn’t the “old B10 home and home schedule” so it doesn’t count as much. And we had more than 2 players that weren’t from Indiana. 🙄 Translation: some people aren’t happy unless they’re complaining, and some people will never be totally happy with IU basketball until the remains of RMK are reanimated and the calendar says 1978 again.
  6. Given that we’ve just landed 3 projected starters from the remnants of the PAC-12? 😂
  7. That chicken isn’t broke, she’s just paying for med school 😂
  8. Oh I'd say that's probably at least half of it.
  9. Year 3 and they're "expecting more". They do realize that it took K six whole years to make a FF, right?
  10. Right there it is, and that goes for both sides, both liberal and conservative. If you're teaching something that's objective (anything STEM, etc), zero need for any spin in either direction. It's all fact based. A lot of philosophic based courses, yes, it's unavoidable, but keep things as neutral as possible.
  11. Even if it's bad condition, if Fox's signature is halfway readable, it's likely still worth some coin. Outside of the true "pioneer" days, Fox is one of the rarer HOF autographs. Only thing my dad didn't keep was his standing room ticket stub from Game 2 of the Series. He and a friend cut school and waited in line by the ticket office of Comiskey most of the morning to get in.
  12. Here would be my concerns with those: 1: They're IP65 rated, which is enough to protect them from a powerful storm's rain. IP65 devices aren't rated for complete immersion though, and they may take some damage if they're covered in ice/snow for a couple of weeks. 2: LED strips are handy for interior, but ultimately, they're really thin strips of metal inside a polymer (plastic) cover. There's only a few specialty grades of plastics that are built to handle UV degradation. I'd be worried about the long-term longevity of those beyond maybe 2-3 years. I know climbing up to the top roofline of a house isn't exactly something I want to do more than once. I'd think twice about putting those anywhere that couldn't accumulate snow and was out of any direct sunlight. Anything that's going to take full sun exposure, brass/aluminum/glass or UV resistant polycarbonate (Lexan). I will admit, the color changing feature is pretty cool, but don't get caught up in the app control. There are ways to use conventionally transformer-based systems with any common home automation system. Both of my transformers are plugged in to an outdoor Kasa outlet, so I can set them up on timers/schedules or turn them on and off as needed remotely.
  13. You just missed the opening of the first Chipotle then, didn’t you?
  14. Actually, all but the 2 up lights and 4 fixed beam spots are dark-sky compliant. And I have the spots dialed in on a pretty focused area, so there shouldn’t be any upward projection.
  15. I said at one point, it’d be funny…with all the talk about the portal and watch….Newton will be the second coming of Cade Cunningham or something. 😂
  16. If I were abiding by the rules, I’d have to ban myself if I said what she calls me. 😉
  17. What birds migrate at night? 😂
  18. I’ve still got the autographs I accumulated as a kid/teenager. Among the more notable: Cal Ripken, Wayne Gretzky, Jeff Gordon, Tiger Woods. The crown jewel is actually from my dad: a baseball signed by the majority of the 1959 White Sox, including HOF 2B Nellie Fox on the sweet spot. Fox died in 1975 at the age of 47, so his is a somewhat rare signature to find. The other 3 HOFers also signed the ball (Luis Aparicio, Al Lopez, Early Wynn). I’ve turned down a 5 figure offer for that ball, as is, with no authentication. What it represents is priceless.
  19. Autographs can be on a variety of items, such as balls, pucks, helmets, sticks/bats, magazine covers, trading cards, photos, etc. Plus, an autograph is something I can keep and display without having to look at my ugly mug in it. 😂
  20. I appreciate them staying as well, but I have a feeling that this coming year will be a learning year for them both. I hope they stick around the year after as well.
  21. Whole milk would be a downgrade for Graeters. Stuff is literally the texture of cold, sweetened butter. Edit: and it ain’t cheap…like $18/gallon. But god is it good. It’s seriously the only vanilla ice cream I can eat plain.
  22. And I’d take Power over Polychronopoulos in a heartbeat
