How do we know the second team won’t either? We don’t know if the first team struggles with the other teams best. If that’s the case the second team would too. Everything is still speculation. My guess is Woody knows what he’s doing.
The second team?
I was posting about not starting Kopp and Stewart together but keeping the other 4 starters. There is no way in the world I would want him to start the second team.

I would too, but outside of him and the dirty one….. who can they rely on? Nobody. I definitely think we are more talented overall. They just seem to have a habit in place and a coach that recruits the right kids for his style that he gets the most out of. I’m optimistic CMW will get us there. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have beat them in Madison and shouldn’t beat them at our place.
If I was a Wiscy fan I would feel pretty good with either Davis or “the dirty one” having the ball at the end of the game when a bucket is needed. Having 2 guys like that is big.

Reason they play together early is to hopefully open up the inside. Get the paint going first. Keeps the D honest early. Neither one need to prove they can shoot. Trey can’t…Phin can but he’s 29% so far. That’s why they start. Plus they play pretty good defense.
I agree that is why they start but on the flip side the team has been getting off to too many slow first and second halves with that lineup. 8 points in 8 minutes to start a game or second half is becoming a bit too common.

No one on the team or staff thought "if we didn't start Kopp and Parker against Michigan we would have won".
Agree with that but I also don’t think the fans think we would have won with that change.
I’m in the camp of not liking both Kopp and Stewart starting together but lineup changes would not have done much, if anything, vs UM. A big mystery is UM’s pedestrian record as they have some talent.

Any other feedback and/or did you hear info as to how the visit went?
The PU game was obviously off the charts but curious if it sounds that we are in good shape/leading.

Nice of you to sell them for face value. I’d jump at it if I was within a 3 hour or so drive.

Well I would guess this will be a close game since everytime we play them it is a close game.
True that.
Its crazy how close our bball games have been against Penn friggin State.
Hope we come out with some urgency. Win this and the journey to the tourney continues.

Poor performance today.
Lost to an underachieving but desperate and talented UM team after an uber-emotional win. Season hasn’t been perfect but it’s Woodys first year and this is the first of 19 games that we haven’t really been a threat to win. If we win 2 of the next 3 (far from a sure thing) we are still on track to go dancing. Not bad.

Big Ten officiating at its best...
That borders on hilarious but overall I think the calls went both ways in a manner that averaged out…with us maybe getting the edge.
There is a ton of $$$$$ sloshing around in the NCAA and they should subsidize full time ref employees.

Your assuming he was thinking…..

Many got (for good reason) giddy Thursday night but we weren’t morphing into a top 10 team after beating PU and it’s not a disaster that we lost today. We are kind of in the middle…ie a bubble team or hopefully a bit above that.

At least the posters that hate storming the court will be happy.

Dickenson is a dick but I would be happy if he was our dick.
Played a great game.

Been watching for 50 years. Last few years wasn't expecting much. Today I expected us to come out and play well but they didn't
The RMK return game.
Not showing up against OSU to get into the tourney.
etc etc
We have had a lot of performances worse than this.

I don't think I been as angry about a teams performance that I am today about this debacle.
Have you not been watching the last 5 years?

Just like I said. Run a play to get Race open for a three.

I’m not seeing much chance for anyone else being he is hogging the ball
Race tried a three, TJD is getting his shots blocked underneath, Stewart air balls, etc etc. Somebody has to do something. I don’t like when X goes “hero ball” but don’t think he is today.

Starters beginning this half much like the first half.

Have to give UM credit for their ball movement. We seemed to be “chasing” a lot.

I’m happy for Race that he feels “free” (ha) but shooting from the three……

It’s not always “purty” but X came out playing hard from the start.

Disagree.

Hope not but that’s what I was thinking as he didn’t appear to land at an awkward angle, didn’t roll his ankle etc. Hope that’s not the case but didn’t look great.
