Curbelo comes with a lot of turnover issues, etc., but man I wish we had a guard who could do what he just did the last two possessions.
I was thinking the same thing. Not to mention having a triple threat like Ivey.

In the last minute or so of a game if a team fouls prior to the ball being inbounded and/or prior to the ball crossing center court the team on offense should get the free throws and retain possession (like a technical).

The guards will probably forget to feed the post. And CMW will tell us, for the 1000th time, he has to get the team over the hump.
He has been coach for 1/2 season and is going to tell us something the the 1,000th time?!?!???
OK

I would hope that fan support, in the first year of a coaching tenure, is not based on any one game. If that is the case, I think that’s more an indictment of the fans than the program
I think we should start giving IU men’s basketball coaches 10 day contracts similar to what the NBA offers to marginal players. That would give us the opportunity to evaluate 12-15 coaches per year.

You do realize that was due to foul trouble with IU having 4 guys foul out against Duke
Man that team recruited talent. 7 IU guys played at least 20 minutes in that game. 4/7 were McDonalds All-Americans, another guy was a Parade All American plus Cheaney.

I agree and liked your post even though it’s not easy for me to like “Dawg Bawls” during my lunch….LOL

Missed the game last night, but have it recorded on Sling. I think I’m going to pass on watching this one it sounds like.
You might enjoy the first half.
The second half……….ugly

We have 1, 2 and threes that do some things well but not consistently well. Rob defends, Stewart hits 3’s sometimes, X sometimes runs the offense in a controlled manner, etc.
We have “guys” at the 1/2/3 but one of our biggest weaknesses is that we do not have a single consistent, all-around (3 level shooter that can get his own shot and defend) “go-to” player at the 1,2 or 3 positions. Ideally we would have that type of player in 2 of those positions but we don’t have one. I’m not saying we don’t have the talent to beat PSU etc on the road but our ceiling is not as high as we would like due to lack of dependable “go-to” guys.

I know Rob is a lightening rod among the fan base, but I spent a lot of time watching him last night, and while he didn't have his best game, he absolutely teed it up on defense. Bohannon was really frustrated.
He does play good D. Unfortunately, on any given night it’s difficult to predict how he will do on offense.

Rob and X were a combined 3-12 from the field with 8 TO’s. We keep hoping this is the season that one or both of them can CONSISTENTLY run the team in an efficient manner, hit some perimeter shots and play decent defense.
Newsflash…..between them they have been playing D1 ball for seemingly 16 years and at this point “they are what they are” and I anticipate their roller coaster ride will last all season.
I just hope JHS can play point at the D1 level next year.- 3

We consistently collapse when the future (Geronimo, Bates, etc.) comes into the game.
The bench consistently killed the momentum.
Pre-season I incorrectly thought Bates would be a starter by now. He has been going through some non-basketball things but man he just looks like he is just wildly flinging the ball when he shoots and his reputed “dog mentality” is not apparent. He is, of course, only a freshman and hopefully he gets it together.

IU wants to make the tourney, and they feel veterans are the way to go. However, at some point when do you let the future get a true run and see what they can do? The goal is final four in the next few years. Just a thought
The tourney is still in our grasp. Is this another play KL request?

We shot 51% from the field and lost.
Iowa is a crappy rebounding team, had guys in foul trouble yet had 20 offensive boards.
Not to mention 22 to’s.
It’s frustrating that it seems we should be 4-0 on the road but at some point the record is the record.
Lets beat NE.

In the second half we have scored 18 points in 16 minutes……Ugh

Offensive boards, turnovers and apparently it is Race’s job to break the press.

Rob has had some good games lately. This has not been one of them.

Very bad 0-10 segment with the hockey line change and a sloppy last 3 minutes but still up 7. Lots a good ball between those two segments. The phantom foul on Bohannon was a 4 point play the refs gave to calm down the Franamal was total BS but I’ll take the 7 points and assume we won’t see a hockey line change in the second half.

This team has potential. Sorry if this is a stupid statement but…
when we are good we are good.

I hate the end of game foul fest. Blatant intentional fouls that are not stopping a shot etc should be treated like technicals. Fouling prior to the ball being inbounded or 90 feet from the basket is BS.
