definitely agreed. already counting JHS as a starter though. hard to imagine anyone other than Bates having the ability to step in as a starter this season.
Who was our last top 20 recruit that didn't start?

IU isn't the place it used to be to play. Give it a couple more years and we'll be back to one of the toughest places to play in the country
I don't get Rupp. It was always seems like a tomb in there.

I honestly don't care about the alumni (me)... put the students where they should be. No student tix in the balcony. I'm with you.
I've said for years make the first 10-15 rows of the main level and behind the baskets students only but it's first come first serve. Show up early or sit in the balcony.

This is possibly an ill-fitting analogy, as it's not apples to apples (but I find it a bit humorous nonetheless): but conference realignment feels like the cyclical evolution of TV/Cable/Streaming.
Core channels.
More channels.
"Cable" - which consolidates all the channels.
Glut - as the cable package balloons to ridiculous size because you have to accept VH1 2 and Nordic DIY Network just to keep ESPN and TNT. Now we're paying for channels (ahem Purdue, Iowa State, Temple) that we don't want.
Streaming!! - Better programming! Get what we want and we don't have to have cable!!
Each Network launches its own streaming network - wait a minute! Now I have to subscribe **all** these platforms because Yellowstone is on Paramount+ and Stranger Things is on Netfilx and The Boys is on Amazon Prime.... "aaahhhhh"
Now we have the exact same equivalent of streaming networks as we did channels; just rebranded.
How do we consolidate all of this?? (Queue Twilight Zone music)
Yellowstone is on Peacock.

I can't see ND making a move. I've visited their Rivals board many times. They're truly terrified of playing a real schedule in football.

I know a couple people who went to Rutgers. Literally no Rutgers alum or anyone in NJ for that matter cares about college sports at all. It's just not a thing. People go there to drink and party. They don't watch probably because they never won anything. No idea what they add to the B1G.

I just realized that the ACC has 15 teams so one team always gets the shaft haha. Sucks to be NC State this year.

Yeah, based on predicted finish it’s def not the best schedule, but we’re supposed to be the favorites so let’s go show it.
One good thing is that we'll have a real shot to beat every team in the league at least once. Of the teams we only play once at MD is the only one where we won't be a massive favorite but still probably favored.

Well, I said we got a heckuva draw in our 6 "single games". All 3 away games should be Ws... if they were @Purdue, @msu, and @osu I wouldn't have said.
Our 3 "home" only games--- are three teams, that shouldn't be close to the top of the conference and should be 3 Ws, as well.
That's 6-0 right there. Heckuva draw was from our 6 "single opponents"...
I don't really see anything "out of the ordinary difficult" compared to any other B1G season. When Yogi was a FR we won at Top 5 MSU/UM... AND beat them at home. This schedule doesn't hold a candle that one.
From the other board with their projected finishes. Doesn't seem good. We get all the good teams twice and the only bad team we drew twice is NW. Hard to get any worse really imo.

@dbmhoosier what was confusing?
I thought you said we gotta a heckuva draw but nearly everyone seems to agree that we got maybe the worst draw of any team.

Lunardi has us a #4 seed in his latest bracket, the highest of any Big Ten team. He has 8 teams from the conference making it (and that' excludes Wisconsin), but the next highest seeds after us are Illinois and Michigan as 6's.
Seems accurate until Woody decides to bring in some shooters.

This. Anyone who has followed IU for decades from Buckner to Alford to Yogi and now maybe TJD.....it's the players responsibility to have the guys ready. Coaches can only do so much. Absolute leadership and I love it. People have problem with it? Leave.
Finally a sign of player leadership down there.
Well Alford had 2 great games and apparently that's what he was interested in.

I liked that TJD put that out there. It is leadership and putting people on notice.
He even critiqued/criticized things about Woodson specifically what they did and didn't practice.
He's not here to mess around, now you may be, but he's not. He had to sit around with sub .500 record in this league. He will not let people put him in that position again. Or they will pay for it like you wouldn't believe
Can we expect to see Trayce wearing his game face this season?

TJD has a chance to be the most important player we’ve had since Bob Knight was coach IMO.
Lol. The big handsome took us from an absolute dumpster fire to a win over a probably undefeated UK team and a Sweet 16 in year one followed by another Sweet 16, outright B1G title, and preseason #1 ranking in year 2. Trayce has never finished .500 in the B1G in 3 seasons. Lol.

The most likely scenarios are 1) he got a 1st round promise, 2) he pulling out of the draft or 3) he has some type of injury preventing him from participating.
I'd lean toward 2 or 3, can't imagine he already has a promise, especially given where he's projected.
I wouldn't think so either but if Kirk Haston and DJ White can get a 1st round promise so can TJD.
