Somewhere Jeff Goodman is at Buffalo Wild Wings getting the pulse of the program. I'd be fine if he and any offspring are banned from the campus.
Do you think his daughter gets super mad at him for hating on IU so much? You’d think people unfortunately give her trouble for her dad’s comments.

I know, just saying he would be the only player that we may miss other than ware.
Oh sorry misunderstood you

Depending on who we get for our backup big, I would not mind having walker back. He gave us solid backup minutes. Of course we did not lose him to the portal.
Anthony Walker doesn’t have any eligibility left.

God forbid we get a little excited about the amount of talent we have brought in this off season. Shame on us.
Yeah I totally get where you’re coming from! I am pumped about who we have gotten just cautiously optimistic LOL

It's so dumb to go after people that criticized Mike Woodson simply because donors bought IU some transfers.
The criticisms of Mike Woodson haven't changed just because the talent has increased on paper. Show it on the court this fall and we can hopefully start to erase some of the criticism.
I totally agree with this! All of these players learning his tough defense after proving less amount of players brought in last year couldn’t worries me and his ability to not come up with creative offensive sets.

His visit doesn't start until tonight so bulk of his visit is tomorrow. Hopefully we'll hear good new later tomorrow or Saturday.
Oh awesome thanks

Wonder if Goode commits today or tomorrow?

Looking forward to him as a defensive stopper a la Chris Reynolds
Doesn’t he have a super long wing span?

Respectfully, just tell someone you don't want there to leave.
Purdue just did this.
Oh I don’t disagree again I was playing devils advocate

Mmm ok.
Then I don't EVER want to hear anything about youth, injuries, anything of that nature again.
I think its 100% malpractice to not fill every scholly. I also find it unimaginable after last season.
I don’t disagree with your thought process but let me play devils advocate for a minute. Let’s say next year we have 7 open spots because this year we took that 13th school on a project. We now get Sisley, Mullins, Harelson,Adams m, and Moreni to all commit. We now only have two spots for experienced portal players. I think Mullins and Sisley are probably on equal footing as cupps coming in as a freshman skill set wise. It handicaps us some

What I like about Goode is he doesn’t seem like someone who just stands in a corner and waits for the ball. He moves without it and can create his own shot.

Leal used part of one year’s NIL money to pay off his sister’s entire student loan balance.
Yep absolutely loved that he did that

I agree with this to an extent, but I dont want to rebuild a roster of 6 guys from the portal every year. In state kids especially with the level of talent that Sisley has, are the type to build around and less likely to transfer generally speaking. In state/home connection, with PT, with $$$. No reason to go somewhere else.
This year we have 3-4 starters from the portal. I think we hit homeruns, but I cant see that happening every year. Sisley and Sisley type players would bring a bit more stability.
Yes you could say... what about CJ Gunn. And I would say... well Gallo came back to possibly come off the bench, and Leal came back for 5 minutes a game.
They are also getting a good amount to do that. Leal seems very smart and is probably using it for future real estate endeavors

Yeah if you are a good player a few of those guys are of no concern to you.
Let me try getting intel from my buddy that coaches at UNF on how good Anderson actually is.
i asked him the following:
Me: So rumor is Zach Anderson might be committing to IU. Is he power 5 talent especially in a bench role???
Him: Yeah I think he will be a good bench talent. We had a kid on a visit this weekend that actually visited Indiana a couple weeks ago Diamant Blazi.
Me: Is Zach Anderson a good kid or how is his reputation?
Him: Zach is a great kid…we have known him since 7th grade. We tried hard to get him but already had other guys in his position.
sounds like we might get a good one and they might get Blazi. If they develop Blazi like I think they can that could be good for IU down the road if he liked us on our visit. For those who don’t know UNF’s head coach was a long time top assistant for Drew at Baylor.

I just don't see another guard or win coming here with us ready having Rice, Carlyle, Galloway, Cupps,Newton, Leal plus MM and Tucker.
Yeah i understand your concern but I can also see a scenario where Leal and Cupps just don’t play much either and Newton probably either. We really only have two wings though but he might just take a back up 4 and back up 5 and be done or try getting someone to redshirt for the 13th spot

Great pick up and we ain’t done.
We need a shooter and a back up 5 and a back up 4 who can shoot or a versatile 4/5 and two shooters

Well IU will have minutes to offer at the 4 and 5 as the roster currently stands but I agree. They need to get smaller school guys that fill a couple open roster spots and then hold a spot for Humrichous imo
If we get Power….Humrichous isn’t coming here IMO

Agreed, tough to get 10 + players with equal skill at one time to not see a significant drop off and allow.
Starting 5:
Rice
Carlyle
MM
Reneau
Ballo
next 5:
Cupps/gallo
Gallo/tucker
Tucker/newton
open spot
Malone
Newton got to practice a decent amount plus sit and learn and I think he explosive like Rice and Carlyle m. If he is confident and not scared of hurting his knee and is comfortable in the system he could be a player. It’s not like he was a 3 star coming in. If I remember correctly he also has a big wing span.

I think our 13th scholarship is someone willing to redshirt or ok with not playing a lot of minutes next year with the expectation lots of minutes will open up year after next. We currently have 6 open scholarships after next year and let’s say we add AH that’s 7 and then let’s say Reneau, rice, Carlyle, MM all leave that’s 11 open spots. I really think not adding someone with eligibility left is a mistake.
