  1. For me DQ always takes me back to little league. When we won a big game, most of the time the coaches would pay for DQ for us.
  2. If you guys ever get to one...I think they are almost all in the south, Bojangles has the best breakfast sandwiches by a mile of any fast food places I have ever been. They are amazing. When we lived in NC for those couple years, I ate way too many of those.
  3. I like Wendy's burgers way better. I like BK slightly better for their burgers. In all honesty, I don't eat much fast food anymore, but when I was younger...
  4. Come on @IUFLA, you really need to keep that over on the bbq thread...now you are making me crave some homemade wings!!
  5. I like their sausage mcmuffin breakfast sandwiches, but man I can't handle McDonalds. Every time I try to eat their lunch/dinner menu, I feel like it was a huge mistake about 30 minutes afterwards. My wife and kids like it...I just can't do it. Culvers on the other hand...I love me some Culvers...great burgers, onion rings, cheese curds, immediately followed by a trip to the cardiologist. But it is delicious!
  6. Yeah...never doubt that the McCaskeys can find a way to screw it up. On the flip side...even a blind squirrel will find a nut now and then. I have been reading quite a bit about the candidates, and I think my new #1 for GM is Dodd with Smith being second. I admit though, there are a few others who would be intriguing.
  7. I just found this...it is a spreadsheet of Bears candidates and interview dates. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13A8xSc9-AOnuNacziYlKdhBOqOmcqsQ-_yWHfxTlClE/edit#gid=0
  8. I am no fan of ESPN, but I can't fault them for those odds. IU needs to show they can win on the road in the Big Ten. I am cautiously optimistic the Hoosiers will do just that this season.
  9. I saw he is interviewing with Jags on Saturday. I think the Bears are primarily doing zoom meetings for first round/screening interviews before they do face to face interviews, which makes sense since they have at least 9 head coaching candidates. Having said that, I haven't seen a date for Eberflus yet.
  10. I read and watched tons about the Civil War. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to visit Gettysburg to walk the battlefields. It is on my list. Coolest thing so far is visiting Charleston and Fort Sumter. @Billingsley99 Tora! Tora! Tora! is a great World War II/Pearl Harbor movie if you and Ayden haven't seen it yet.
  11. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Also have read the book. Good recommendation. I wrote a big paper about Longstreet in college, and gave a presentation about Picket's charge on day 3 of Gettysburg in grad school.
  12. I have not seen them mentioned. Riddick wants the Bears GM job, but not sure if he will get an interview or not...if they don't have an agent, it might not get leaked out that they are interviewing.
  13. Yes, Harbaugh definitely had his issues with management and he is going to more than likely wear out his welcome wherever he goes (if he leaves UM). He would still be my primary target if I were the Bears because he will give you a 4 year window with Fields that would provide a (probable) winning product.
  14. Ha...Mitch Trubisky, Rex Grossman, etc. I don't want the up and comer OC/DC for head coach. Nagy was that. No "outside the box" coach...or we might end up with another Marc Trestman situation on our hands. Harbaugh had success in NFL as head coach and understands the Bears culture and McCaskeys. I would argue Flores had success as NFL coach in Miami...maybe he didn't have stellar winning percentage, but how many coaches would have done as well as him with that roster? Bowles didn't have success with Jets, but come on...they are the Jets ha. Bears need someone with a little bit of an attitude and fire. They don't need to hire a "nice guy" or "yes man" to the McCaskeys, they need to hire a winner.
  15. Exactly my fear. That is why I want a Rick Smith or Dodds as GM and Harbaugh/Flores as head coach. This is what the new GM needs to do to George/Ted...
  16. You know we agree and have spoken about McCaskeys screwing it up. My "wishlist" based on what I have read and seen is for GM to be: Ed Dodds or Rick Smith for GM (I would be good with Ireland as long as it is a package deal with Harbaugh) For head coach: Harbaugh is my first choice. I would be happy with Flores or Bowles, provided they come with a solid plan on their OC and how they would develop Fields. I go back and forth with Josh McDaniels...he is such a giant douche and I hate what he did to the Colts, but I think he would work magic with Fields. But in the end, I just don't trust him.
  17. They better not screw it up and hire a coach first unless they are hiring a Harbaugh. I have read that they are interviewing as many as 12 GM candidates for the position. I'm assuming they are zooming with them for the first round of interviews, otherwise that is going to take forever. You have any specific GM/coaches you are rooting for?
  18. So far the Bears have requested to interview for head coach: Todd Bowles (Tampa Bay DC) Brian Daboll (Bills OC) Leslie Frazier (Bills DC) Nathaniel Hackett Packers OC) Bryon Leftwich (Tampa Bay OC) Doug Pederson Matt Eberflus (Colts DC) Brian Flores Dan Quinn (Cowboys DC) GM Candidates: Kwesi Adofo-Mensah (Browns VP) Morocco Brown (Colts director of scouting) Glenn Cook (Browns VP) Rick Smith (former Texans GM) Jeff Ireland (Assistant GM/College scouting director for Saints) Ed Dodds (Colts VP) Ran Carthon (49ers Director of player personnel) Joe Schoen (Bills assistant GM) Omar Khan (Steelers VP) Eliot Wolf (Patriots Director of Scouting) I personally am excited to see Rick Smith on that list as he would be my #1 pick, with the caveat that I would gladly take Ireland if it meant Harbaugh as head coach (some reports suggest he is the GM most likely to lure Harbaugh to Bears). I like Dodds as well. For head coach, I really want them to interview Flores and obviously Harbaugh.
  19. At first I thought he was throwing the ball and the Bama player was out of bounds recovering. Then with all the replays I thought maybe it was a fumble and his foot was in bounds. In the end I decided it was time to head to the fridge and grab a cold beer.
  20. There are lots of candidates who I think would be better than Nagy, but there are only maybe 4-5 who I think would make most of the Bears fans I know happy. It seems like they are casting a wide net for the positions. I think they already have 4 GM interviews confirmed and 3 head coaching interviews with the latest being Brian Daboll, Bills offensive coordinator.
