I saw Jeff Ireland, Ed Dodds,and Brian Gaine all mentioned...I know in that podcast he specifically mentions Ireland as being someone they are potentially interested in.

I was somewhat surprised by the Vikings GM move, but this one completely shocked me. I hope Miami ends up with a complete bust of a coach now. Also, maybe the Jaguars will hire him and keep him in Florida?

The "dabearsblog" guy who said Pace was out last week, when most Chicago reporters were saying the opposite, is stating that Ted Phillips will be retiring in 2023 and the new GM/coach will be reporting directly to ownership. He also stated that the past few weeks (months?) the Bears hired actual intelligent football people to analyze their team/structure...so hopefully this all results in ownership actually listening.

No. They seem to be fairly competitive most years. This seems like firing someone just to fire someone (shake things up) sort of moves. It might work...or it could blow up in Vikings face.

Vikings fire GM and coach...

The Bears were probably worse last year as the NFC 7th seed at 8-8...and I say that as a big Bears fan, but last seasons Bears were mediocre at best. I don't like the 7th playoff team either...I thought 6 teams in each conference was about perfect. I'm sure it is only a matter of time before the NFL has 8 teams in each conference in the playoffs and no byes.
