  1. What has been underreported is if this event took place on private property.  I have rather strong feelings about trespassers as one burned down the house (unoccupied at the time) on our family farm.   I'm curious as to how some of you feel about trespassing, or whether it even matters in this incident.

  2. I really don't want to excuse bad behavior, but there are a couple of things here that do not make sense to me.

    1)  A group was meeting in the Hoosier National FOREST in the middle of the DAY to watch a LUNAR eclipse?  I'm not an astrologist, but none of that makes sense to me.

    2)  I never heard the "N" word yelled.  I did hear one of the people holding a camera try to bait one of the red necks into saying it though.

    3)  I never heard anyone call for a rope or a noose.

    4)  If you truly feared for your life, and were given the chance to escape the circumstances, would you turn back on your way out to confront your attackers again?

    5)  The always relevant "What happened before the cameras started rolling"?

I will reserve judgement on this one.  Lots of weirdness here.  Lots of bad behavior.  It brings to mind the phrase "Fat, Drunk, and Stupid is no way to go through life"

Just wanted everyone to know that I have tested positive for the virus.  Have not really been really sick or had that many symptoms.  I had a low grade fever and some congestion but felt pretty good.  Main reason I wanted to go to the doctor and get tested was my elderly parents lives with me. Just wanted people to know that you can have this without being sick.  Even the doctor was not even going to test me since my symptoms was not that bad.

Scott, you need to sack up son!  Back in my day we didn't even have Covid19 or 15 or even 10. Rub some dirt on it and keep moving.  Now, drop and give me 20 you candy ass!!

I figured you would respond to that as well as anything else  :coffee:

I have a niece that when she got her doctors degree, she was recruited by a rural hospital in southern Ill. They told her if she would agree to work there for 3 years, they would pay half of her tuition! Needless to say, that is what she did. Now, years later, she is back home working at Evansvilles' largest hospitals.....

My grandmother was a nurse at a small rural hospital in Illinois.  Breese Il. to be exact.  Its where she met Red Schoendienst who would visit his father there.  She always told me Red was her favorite baseball player, not because she cared about baseball, but because of how kindly he treated everyone he met.

I’d pay good money to see that especially the look on Devonte and Justin’s faces.  We’d be down at least 2 players before the speech was over.

I'd pay good money to see you make a cheeseburger comment to Deron's face...like, real good money...I'd even bring popcorn, and a mop to clean up.

I think I start one of these every year. Growing up my two loves in sports were IU basketball and the 500. I will be attending my 26th this year, but my first without my dad. That’s going to be rougher than Christmas for me.

Practice starts this week. I would normally keep a tab open on my computer at work with the live video feed, but that is by subscription only now through NBC.

I’m not real thrilled with the new wrinkles in the qualifying format. I hate the last row shootout on Sunday.

Hopefully we see a better race this year than last. The lack of cars having the ability to pass except on restarts was terrible.

I feel for you Parakeet.  We moved to Indy in the late 70's and my dad started getting tickets in 77.  It was an annual event at our house.  At it's peak, we had 20 seats together and people from all over the country at our house for the weekend.  Over time it whittled down, and my parents moved to Atlanta, but we kept 10 tickets.  In 97 we sold all but two and we tried to go to the race together.  You already know how that ended.  Later that summer we found out our tickets had finally been upgraded, and in Dec, my dad unexpectedly passed away.  I've kept the tickets, but I've never gone back.  I've never sat in the upgraded seats.  I watch most years, but over 20 years later I still cry when  they sing "Back Home Again in Indiana"  Good for you for going without your dad.  I'm not sure I could.
