That guy is a sick human. Doesn't matter if its related to the Delphi killings or not (I hope it is so the families get closure), but that guy needs to be behind bars for life.

This is where you and I differ.  The Delphi case aside, I see no reason to keep this piece of garbage alive.  He is evil, and evil needs to be extinguished.

I'll bite and do a little speculation.

Bennett offers him a clear starting opportunity.

Woodson is looking to bring new guys in and nothing was guaranteed.

For that to be true, AF would have to look his IU teammates in the eye and say "I just don't want to work that hard to stay with you guys"  Seems a cowards way out.  Something just seems very off.  My best guess is he was an Archie guy through and through, and was hurt by the termination.

Hey.. I love me some ranch lol pizza, chicken, etc.

Back to XJ.. I don't like that his former coach had to call him out in post game interview for his behavior. Getting technicals for spouting off at another team's bench is stupid and selfish at minimum and it's not winning basketball.

I agree with Blue.  I don't want to see it excessively, but I remember Sheehey flexing in front of the purdue bench and most people loved it.  We do need a little of that.

  4. I'm surprised no one has connected the dots yet.   Mike Woodson is 63.  I doubt anyone including Mike thinks he is the long term solution.  In effect he is a placeholder, and as an IU guy he will gladly step aside when the best candidate is available.  We also brought in Matta to help with the college transition for Mike, as well as to help recruit the best candidate (who he has ties to) when the time arrives.  Now, Stevens has been in Boston for 8 years, when the average NBA coaching tenure is what, 4 years?  The Boston natives are getting restless.  How much longer will he be there?  We are now positioned well if this happens in the next couple of years.  That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

This thread should just be abut Matt Cross and hos transfer and not Archie's ability to coach.

It was sarcasm Scott.  The Fire Archie topic seems to find it's way into literally EVERY thread on this board.  I for one am over it.  I do appreciate all of the Mods efforts to keep discussions on topic.  My point was simply sarcastic.  If I didn't convey that clearly I apologize.

    Gang,

This is the recruiting forum. We can not have every thread go down the same road. There are plenty of threads in the basketball forum for these non-recruiting discussions.

    Please and thank you.

So you're saying we should fire Archie?  :coffee:

  7. What has been underreported is if this event took place on private property.  I have rather strong feelings about trespassers as one burned down the house (unoccupied at the time) on our family farm.   I'm curious as to how some of you feel about trespassing, or whether it even matters in this incident.

  8. I really don't want to excuse bad behavior, but there are a couple of things here that do not make sense to me.

    1)  A group was meeting in the Hoosier National FOREST in the middle of the DAY to watch a LUNAR eclipse?  I'm not an astrologist, but none of that makes sense to me.

    2)  I never heard the "N" word yelled.  I did hear one of the people holding a camera try to bait one of the red necks into saying it though.

    3)  I never heard anyone call for a rope or a noose.

    4)  If you truly feared for your life, and were given the chance to escape the circumstances, would you turn back on your way out to confront your attackers again?

    5)  The always relevant "What happened before the cameras started rolling"?

I will reserve judgement on this one.  Lots of weirdness here.  Lots of bad behavior.  It brings to mind the phrase "Fat, Drunk, and Stupid is no way to go through life"
