  1. Yet you’re on record multiple times saying that Woodson has “earned” a 4th year??
  2. The problem is Woodson. The only way to fix the issue is to cut out the root of the problem.
  3. I disagree. Accepting that Woodson might get a 4th year because we have an inept athletic department is one thing, thinking Woodson deserves a 4th year when it’s patently obvious he is not fit for this job is another. Wanting to see the Indiana program fall further and further into perpetual mediocrity to the point of irrelevancy is a troll-worthy opinion.
  4. What difference does that make? You think Woodson has the ability or self-awareness to evaluate college coaching talent? Who has Woodson seriously ever evaluated? Fife was a forced hire, Kenya Hunter was already on staff, and Ya was a recommendation from his buddy Kenny Payne who is somehow a worse coach than Woodson. And when he fired Fife, he simply promoted Walsh. Also, it’s going to be extremely tough sell to get any kind of quality assistant to come to Bloomington with Woodson’s lame duck status. If Woodson is retained it’s due to the mere fact that we couldn’t get a donor to pay his buyout and the optics of firing an alum after 3 seasons. Bringing Woodson back for a 4th year is simply delaying the inevitable. He knows that, the fan base knows that, the player know that, prospective recruits know that, as do potential assistant coaches. If Woodson is retained….ugh I don’t even want to think about it.
  5. Any person that thinks Woodson deserves a 4th year should be outed and reported as a troll. By far and away the biggest threat to the program going forward.
  6. Is losing McNeeley the end of the world? Look at it this way, IU currently has three 5* on its roster and is going to be playing on Wednesday of the BTT.
  7. The only reason May would come here is history? -Not because he’s from here or went to school here? -Not because the Indiana job is a massive upgrade from FAU? -Not because it’s an instant pay raise and life changing money for he and his family? Really? As far as Sisley or Mullins goes, there’s a better chance they commit to IU if you or I were coaching the team. Both want to be Hoosiers in the worst way possible but can’t risk their basketball livelihoods with Woodson behind the wheel.
  8. If you’re going to hire Dusty May you almost have to fire Mike Woodson this year. May has 4-5 contributors all with a Covid year remaining and I sense there’s a good possibility a good chunk of that core would follow him. Keeping Woodson an additional season simply to delay the inevitable could be a potential death sentence for May before he coaches a game. This current staff isn’t going to land a recruit in the 2025 class and there’s a real possibility the entire roster is turned over after the next season once guys like Leal, Galloway, and Sparks exhaust their eligibility. Maybe Cupps comes back for his junior season? Either way, tasking May with having to potentially bring 10+ guys in his 1st season has disaster written all over it. Mike Woodson has failed this program miserably.
  9. Woodson is too stubborn to allow someone to work under him with input (see Matta and Fife) and he's too delusional to step down. Dolson has 2 options, well really 3. 1. Let Mike Woodson retire at the end of the season to save face with a negotiated buyout (most logical choice) 2. Fire Mike Woodson if he refuses the terms of option 1 3. Retain him and be prepared to join Woodson in the unemployment line at the conclusion 24-25 season. If Dolson keeps Woodson for a 4th year with all the bad optics and turmoil surrounding the program, he should be blacklisted from campus grounds. Keeping Woodson a 4th year is simply delaying the inevitable.
  10. The charges were dropped and there's no case or further action pending against him. The alleged incident has zero impact on his availability on the sideline going forward.
  11. I’m an Old(ish) Guard IU fan and thought it was absolutely asinine from day 1. I think you’ll find most IU fans regardless of age simply want IU to be good again. Nothing about this hire made an ounce of sense.
  12. Anybody still yapping that Woodson has earned a 4th year is 100% part of the problem.
  13. There were some concerns with the way year 2 ended. Obviously he wasn't playing with a full deck at that time but that team finished the year losing 12 out of 13 games including 11 in a row in which all but two were competitive. This after starting the conference season 3-3. It was after year 3 where red flags should have been waving all around. He no longer had the baseball player or walk-on excuse card to play. He had some legitimately talented underclassmen and some dudes who had played a lot the first two years. That team lost the last 9 games to end the year en route to a dead last place finish in the B10. I certainly wasn't in the "Must Fire Crean" camp but thought it would have been totally justified had the administration gone that route. I know for sure UK, Kansas, North Carolina wouldn't have brought him back.
  14. Definitely. Early years of Crean were understandable. What's happening this year is unacceptable....and it's only going to get worse.
  15. DK committed to a Tennessee team with a backcourt of Santiago Vescovi (110 career starts), Josiah Jordan-James (87 starts), Zakari Ziegler, Jordan Gainey (transferred before Knecht and was two year starter at SC-Upstate), and Jahmi Mashack who started the year prior. That backcourt is light years better than our backcourt BEFORE adding Knecht. I’m tired of the excuses. There isn’t a world where DK wouldn’t have played 35 mpg at IU.
  16. If I had to guess which poster on this board understood analytics the least, you would have been my #1 choice. Luckily I don’t have to guess.
  17. Beating Purdue last year was nice. No one will deny that, even with a career performance against Purdue, JHS was still one of the least efficient players in the B10 last year. And that isn’t really the fault of JHS either. But IU’s backcourt was heavily exposed against Miami in a game where JHS was maybe the 4th or 5th best guard on the floor.
  18. First time I’ve ever been called a Tar Heel fan. Now that’s rich. Seriously though, Hubert Davis has 10-15 good years left in front of him and Woodson will be in Florida here (hopefully) within the next 12-13 months. Hubert Davis doesn’t need to coach another collegiate game to prove he’s better than Mike Woodson.
  19. We had lottery pick guard and a 2x AA and went 12-8 in a bad Big Ten and lost by 20 points in the 2nd round of the tournament. A healthy X and we limped into the play-in game. Color me unimpressed. Credit Woodson all you want, but IU needs at least 2, if not 3 perimeter players next year for Indiana to even be competitive. He went into this year thinking TG and Xavier Johnson was a B10 caliber backcourt and left a scholarship open in the process. Being able to identify 1 guard is fine, but 2 or 3?? No shot.
  20. A. I think you have a much better chance at landing Sisley and Mullins if Woodson isn't the coach. In fact I think the only reason those two remain uncommitted is due to the fact that Woodson is still the head coach. As far as Haralason and Moreno go...I don't think Haralson cares who his college coach is, I think he's an NIL chaser and wants to play somewhere that will guarantee him 35 mpg. It's going to be tough to beat out UK for Moreno whoever the head coach is, that won't change. 24 is a lost cause regardless of what McNeeley and possibly Queen decide to do. Woodson ain't landing 2-3 top quality guards in the portal and in the event he does he wouldn't know how to use them anyway. I'd sacrifice McNeeley, MM, and even Reneau for the 2024 season because the 2024 season is going to be forgettable as is. Get out in front of it now and try and salvage what you can with the 2025 class.
  21. Hubert Davis has been groomed for this job for the better part of a decade. People act like they picked him up off the street and threw him into a situation that he no input in. I guarantee you towards the end, Hubert Davis was recruiting and game planning just as much as Roy Williams. Same thing can be said with Jon Scheyer.
  22. He's coached for a national title and has a top 10 team this year all within the same time frame of Woodson. It's not even a comparison.
  23. And we're in real jeopardy of playing Wednesday night.
