  1. I'd simply call it blind optimism, nothing wrong with that, but it is what it is. Woodson has shown absolutely NOTHING in regards to competent roster management and his refusal to adapt to a modern style of basketball only further complicates things. Thinking 65 year old Mike Woodson is going to land the necessary 6-7 portal acquisitions and have them competing for a B10 title next year is just that, wishful thinking. It's not going to happen. Reality is that Woodson inherited an experienced bunch from his predecessor on top of a generational talent entering his upperclassmen years and still delivered pretty underwhelming results all things considered. Next year is going to be an absolute train wreck and he's not going to hear the end of it until he's gone. We're going to miss out on some of the best prospects this state has produced in awhile and it's because we refused to make a change when there was a clear writing on the wall. We'll end up hiring Dusty May a year too late, all his FAU players will be out of eligibility, and with zero incoming recruits willing to stick out a regime change. A long road ahead of us, buckle up for these next 13-14 months.
  2. Take out the 9 or 10 cream puffs IU plays in November and December every year and he’s a .500 coach. Give it 2.5 more weeks and he’ll be several games under .500 in the B10 and the B10 the last two seasons has been AWFUL. Beating Wyoming in a play-in game and Kent State with a generational talent and several 5th and 6th year players the last two years doesn’t move the needle for me, sorry. Thinking that a 65 year old coach is going to land the necessary 5-6 players in the portal to even be competitive next year is nothing more than blind optimism. He can’t even show up to watch Trent Sisley. Mike Woodson doesn’t deserve to be a part of next years rebuild, let alone lead it.
  3. Michigan is a football school coming off a national title. Indiana is a basketball school or at least they used to be. Notice how Michigan didn’t f*** around and wait on Rich Rod or Brady Hoke to become something it was evident they would never become. Same rule applies here. Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina wouldn’t be caught dead bringing back someone like Woodson for a 4th year. But then again they also care about basketball and have this entire time. Arguing that Woodson will be back for year 4 because IU has an inept athletic department is one thing, arguing that Woodson deserves a 4th is another thing and is completely asinine.
  4. How has he “earned” a chance? This year has been an unmitigated disaster with next year having an even bleaker outlook. Not sure making the tournament after being gifted a generational talent is the barometer of success for this program. But then again, maybe it is, that’s how far we’ve fallen as a program. Keeping a lame duck coach collecting retirement funds would be par for the course.
  5. Bob Knight had already won 2 national titles by 1985 and was still 20 years younger than Woodson is today. What an odd comparison. Where is the long term hope with Woodson not only next year but in the years to follow? He’s going to get a 4th year unless Dolson grows a pair a stones, but not because he’s earned it.
  6. None of those guys were 65 years old ALREADY on a retirement tour. The entire Woodson experiment was supposed to be a 3-4 year stop gap. So he gets year 4 on principle (although that shouldn't be the case),then what? He's going to have to bring in 5-6 one year mercenaries to try and even get back to a level of respectability. The entire thing is going to have to be burned down for the next guy. Woodson has zero interest in trying to build a foundation. His recruiting sucks. His roster construction sucks. He's not leaving anything behind for his successor. Best case scenario IU limps into the tournament next year, Woody can retire on a semi-high note, but we still lose 7-8 players that brought in to salvage the next season. It's just a horrible situation all around. The IU administration and Quinn Buckner needs to come out and admit this was a failed experiment, cut bait, and get out in front of it NOW. Chances are that next year ends up being worse than this year and you're forced to fire Woodson.
  7. Yeah that's about the least imposing defensive front court in America.
  8. Free throws and hustle have probably attributed to 3-4 losses this season despite having one of the worst back courts in college basketball. Difference of being on the bubble and finding out if you're hosting an NIT game.
  9. A combination of both. The coach stinks and the players he recruited neither play hard or smart. That's never a winning combination.
  10. 20-12 next year!?!?! We aren't going to be 20-12 THIS year and stand to be significantly worse next year.
  11. At least they made a fashion statement today!!! Most uninterested, uninspiring IU basketball team I’ve seen in my entire life. Woodson is responsible for 90% of this fiasco but outside 1 maybe 2 players, I wouldn’t care if a single one never put on an IU uniform again. Let them keep their Fear of God jersey as a parting gift.
  12. I'd just show him clips of Will Sheehey. Great scorer with elementary level dribbling abilities.
  13. Of course he didn't get the extension after the 2022 season he went 4-8. He DID however receive his extension after the 2020 season, the one shortened due to COVID (what I literally said), and received an astronomically large and unnecessary buyout despite not being a flight risk whatsoever. It was fine to reward him after going 6-2, it was irresponsible to essentially make him a lifer.
  14. Needing to come up with $20 million just to fire a coach who won 3 conference games in 3 years just further reinforces the ineptness in the athletics department. Why on Earth did Tom Allen have a $31 million fully guaranteed buyout to begin with and why was is still $20 million after winning 3 conference games in 3 years? All because of a 6-2 record in a pandemic shortened season played in front of zero fans?
  15. Huge difference between rewarding a guy after a nice season and doing what Dolson did for a guy who wasn't considered a flight risk. Big difference.
  16. Was a de-facto season ticket holder for almost 30 years until I gave up my basketball tickets after Glass hired Archie. The stadium facelifts are an improvement but doesn’t even begin to scratch what I’m talking about. IU football doesn’t even have its own weight room and Mellencamp is about as dated as it comes in regards to our B10 peers.
  17. I’ve given you cold hard facts about the state of the two sports who generate money for this university. Neither are any good and haven’t been for awhile. I get it, you’re happy to support the university through the thick and thin. It’s admirable. But for those of us who live in the real world, the product sucks. And inept leadership at the top has played a massive part. When you hire a bunch of clowns, you should expect the circus. You get what you pay for.
  18. 6 tournaments since 2008 is a fact, not an opinion. For a supposed basketball school, that’s horrid. Indiana’s 71-110 record in football since 2008 is a fact, not an opinion. It’s the worst record of any B10 team who has been a full-time member at the time of Glass’ hiring.
  19. Because quality athletic departments aren’t run by amateurs. Indiana is the worst P5 football program in the history of the sport. And while that isn’t new to Glass and now Dolson’s tenure, the facilities are bottom of the barrel compared to our B10 peers. And while it’s one thing to neglect football for the sake of being a “basketball school”, Indiana can no longer say that. IU has reached the tournament 6 times since 2008 (the time of Glass hire) and on the verge missing out once again with a losing record to boot. All while real “basketball schools” like Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, and North Carolina all had football teams with winning records this year. You don’t need to be an expert to realize what kind of ineptness plagues the athletic department. The results speak for themselves.
  20. The fact that our two revenue-generating sports have been completely run into the ground the last 15 years. Umm hello?
  21. What on Earth were Fred Glass’ qualifications prior to being named AD?
