  1. We were in a Chili's one night, and booth next to us had 2 kids, under 4 screaming and yelling like they were at war outside. We couldn't even talk to each other. I finally got up and went to the mother and said (and I quote): Do those kids have an off switch? She starting grinning and I was as dead pan as you could be. She asked, you're not kidding? I said No I'm not. We can't even say 2 words to each other because your damn kids don't have an respect for others. The parents finally made them sit down and reduce (not eliminate) the volume. Now, I refuse to sit next to a family with kids under 10. I'll wait for another table to open up.
  2. I hope she's not a teacher !! (oops....I meant to say "it" instead of she)
  3. If you don't have screaming kids with you, I would insist on sitting next to your booth/table. I do it all the time because parents don't teach their kids manners anymore....much less discipline them
  4. Had a wise businessman tell me when I was new in my job: "You're defined by the things you do NOT do". Helped keep me focused thru out 3 careers.
  5. Supposed to rain most of the day tomorrow with high winds. It's raining cats and dogs now (I live about 20 miles east of Augusta National) Even with Augusta's state of the art drainage system, the course will be a mud hole and the greens very receptive. The wind is the wild card.
  6. Some of the Goldens hate water. Our last one despised it. Thought he was going to the electric chair when we gave him a shower/bath. I know Labs love it, but it's hit and miss with Goldens.
  7. How many recruits has CDM gotten in the top 100? I bet 0. Top 200? Probably 0, maybe 1-2 over 5 years. He has figured out how to motivate the guys he has, and play intense basketball. I bet he gets hired away this summer. And if not this year, probably next year if he has any kind of a winning season. IMO he's a undiscovered diamond (not in the rough).
  8. This funny, but when you think about it, it really isn't.
  9. A firefighter was working on the engine outside the station, when he noticed a little girl nearby in a little red wagon with little ladders hung off the sides, and a garden hose tightly coiled in the middle. The girl was wearing a firefighters helmet. The wagon was being pulled by her dog and her cat.The firefighter walked over to take a closer look. 'That sure is a nice fire truck,' the firefighter said with admiration. 'Thanks,' the girl replied. The firefighter looked a little closer. The fireman noticed the girl had tied the wagon to her dog's collar and to the cat's testicles.'Little partner,' the firefighter said, 'I don't want to tell you how to run your rig, but if you were to tie that rope around the cat's collar, I think you could go faster.'The little girl replied thoughtfully, 'You're probably right, but then I wouldn't have a siren.'
  10. Helluva comeback by the Canes. They never quit. And they easily could have when they were down 12.
  11. I'm really liking Creighton's offense. Everybody touches it almost every possession, everybody moves. Great to watch.
  12. All I can say is I hope you have a LOT of money for repairs and maintenance on any of those choices. All of them look great, and probably tons of fun to drive. One of the mechanics I listen to, suggests that a Mazda Miata is maybe the best quality roadster out there. (And probably half the cost to buy, and ¼ of the cost to repair/maintain. Just FYI
  13. Oh....the smart Gen Z'ers and Millenials.
  14. After our showing last night, I thought we could all use a little laugh.
  15. The short answer is nothing has changed. TJD an all American stud, was, is, and probably will be our MVP for this year, and maybe several years into the future based on voting results. X was a solid contributor until his injury, and had a lock on a distant, 2nd place based on the voting of all of you. But since he went down, nobody has risen to the occasion to take his place. One game JHS would be good, the next is Race, the next its Trey. But there is no consistency among anyone not named TJD. Which leads me to the question of "whose going to step up and be that guy next year"? X? Maybe. Trey? Maybe. After this season, I have my doubts if anyone will step and be "the guy" consistently. So....the MVP voting is concluded. The results are not surprising. See you next season. Go Hoosiers!
