  1. I purposely buy one level above "basic" in my vehicles. Far less BS computer stuff to deal with. Easier to disable idiot tones and switches that the Millennials and Gen Z'ers need, as well as that bleeping "Auto start/stop" button. I'd buy a stick shift if they offered it. (great anti-theft device these days)
  2. What mobility? He never got more than 8' from the bucket except one time to the free throw line. Hell, I'm 72 years old and I could keep him in front of me. Yeah....he can dunk. So can any 6' guard in the league.
  3. From what little I know and have seen, I'll take Spencer all day long. He's one of the guys the opposing team loves to hate. And when he's hot....
  4. Listening to Kenya on a podcast, and he mentioned that MM's Mom actually reached out to Woody herself to see if IU had any interest her son. She did not know Woody before hand according to Kenya. Found that very interesting.
  5. For all of you who think Gallo should get recruited over, and come off the bench. I have a serious question for you, and I'm not being sarcastic or detrimental. I'd really like to know from you guys the following: IF...Trey increased his 3 pt shot volume to say, 6-7/game, and shot 40+%, would that change your opinion if he should come off the bench or get starter's minutes? (and assume that his defense and hustle remain constant, which it should or get better even).
  6. IF....IF Gallo can take another ½ step forward in his game, he'll be awesome. Nobody plays as hard as he does, and he also plays smart. He's a highlight reel with steals on defense, even though he's not what some would consider "quick". My concern with Cupps, based on my limited viewing of his play, is that he takes a LOT of possessions off. Doesn't play nearly as hard as he could, makes cuts at a jog. But he is smart with a high BB IQ, which should make up for some of that. If Woody can kick him in the ass to play hard like Gallo, THEN Cupps could be a stud IMO. But from what I've seen he has a long ways to go. Probably won't be very productive until late soph or junior year. Don't get me wrong, I think he'll be a solid player for us this coming year, but not nearly a star. If he gets more than 10-15 minutes I'll be pleasantly surprised. I think he'll be better than Bates, but not better than Gallo.
  7. As good as he is, the NBA Draft Net pointed out several things that he needed to work on (according to ITH story) 1:1.7 assist/TO ratio Sub-par FT shooter High volume of shots, but not great shooting % Picks up dribble too soon, then takes contested shots Proper coaching, and hard work by MM should be able to fix some of these quickly. Others may take a little time. So I don't expect him to come in and be a man against boys. Depending on Woody's offensive choice this year, he could put all of the guys in some great positions to score, since it appears our overall talent level has increased significantly. Now the question is how quick can the new guys learn the defense...and play it well...
  8. I think Walker will win over the team with his personality. It's win first. Plus, as you said he has the experience. I realize this is a minority opinion, but we'll see how it plays out.
  9. Actually I think Anthony Walker and Leal will step up into supporting roles as leaders.
  10. Not to rain down on him, but unless he improves his play significantly, he'll be watching most of the game from the bench. I read his article, and he said he wanted to experience AH from an opponent's point of view. I hope we receive him lovingly. I think we will.
  11. Take it from a REAL old fart. He has at least 10yrs+ left, if he wants it. Mentally, he's as sharp as anybody. Question is will his body hold up?
  12. Welcome MM !! No matter how long you stay, you'll be a Hoosier for life. And many doors will open for you even after your Pro career is over. Now...work hard, listen harder to Woody, and make us all proud !
  13. Welcome Mac !! No matter how long you stay, you'll always be a Hoosier, and the Alums will make your life better even after the Pro career is finished !
  14. Are those Hosta's in the raised beds? If so, you should be expecting Rudolf and his buddies. I hear they love Hosta's.
  15. We need a poll.... How many of you will be on suicide watch if he picks KU?
  16. I don't think HSN has enough bandwidth and server power to do this on a regular basis. I think we should be the 1st and only choice for all top recruits that we go after. Everybody else is "Plan B" from the recruit's viewpoint. But that's just me....
  17. Don't forget that "perhaps" the staff saw something about their "fit" that made the staff want to pass on them. Not saying that's the case, but it is a possibility.
  18. Anybody that says Hoosier Hysteria is over rated, needs to read this thread. It will make believers out of the largest doubters.
  19. Could not agree more !! If you haven't listened to his interview with the Hysterics guys, you should. What a great young man. Competitive as hell, stand up guy, and a sense of humor to boot.
  20. It's a ton of fun to get excited about a recruit and what he "might" bring to the team. But I remember all the hub-bub on Romeo, who turned out to be good, but not great IMO. (true he was hurt, but that doesn't change the fact that he wasn't an all-american, or B1G player of the year.) I also remember all the hoopla on Lander. What a disappointment he was compared to the build up. JHS was the one player who, in my mind, DID live up to the hype. But historically, they have been few and far between. MM may be a great player at the college level. I sincerely hope he is. But from my view, this thread has all the implications that he is the "perfect fit" for what we need, and we'll be a FF team if he comes (implied, not said). I'm not ready to hop on that band wagon just yet. I'll root like hell for him, but I need to see it on the court first. Just me. Like IUFLA I've been around a long time. I've seen a fair amount of BB in my time. You guys can get carried away all you want. That's your prerogative.
  21. Man, there is gonna be a lot of egg on your face for a lot of you guys if MM comes to IU and is "just an average" player instead of the 2nd coming you all think he is. I mean yeah, he's a good recruit, but until you get him in practice and in games where he's not the most talented, or experienced player on the floor, he may not be the shiny penny you think he is. Should we have high hopes, sure. But some of you guys are really going off the deep end on this guy. But to each his own. It's entertaining I guess.
  22. My theory is that there are a boat load more of the Hunter Dickenson "how much $$$ will you guarantee me" types, than the "I want the team to win" types out there. And Woody has said many times that if you want to come to IU for the $$$ as your primary consideration, keep looking. Financial success will come with team success.
  23. After 49 pages of guesses on how this will go, and no one has any idea, I give Kudos to the family and in particular to the IU staff and players for keeping a lid on this. It's a big time decision by MM and his family. He should be awarded the space and time to make an educated decision. After the Ludlum(sp) fiasco where the signals leaked like a Siv, I'm glad this one is kept under wraps. And I hope the ones to follow are just as tight lipped.
