  1. We did not win with ease until Woody called the first time out (Elon was up 2-3 a good 2-3 minutes into the game). Woody chewed their asses during the time out. Then we came out and started to play. We were lazy again to start the game. It's becoming a habit. And if you don't think that warmups are important, well....that's fine. You're entitled to that opinion, and I won't try to change it. The reason "nobody is afraid of Indiana anymore" (Ron Harper Jr quote) is because of crap like what I saw during warmups with a "give a shit" attitude. The game won't mean much in the long run, but the behavior and focus of our team sure does IMO. But if this game didn't mean anything, why did we even have practice preparing for them? Why not throw "one game at a time" out the window and just practice for the game 2 weeks from now?
  2. Then I missed it in warmups. But he was sure active with the ball.
  3. The reason I made the comment about TJD being there is that he's supposed to be the leader of the team. Leaders don't let this crap go on as part of the warmup routine. And it wasn't just TJD & JG. There were about 6-8 guys in the huddle doing their thing. Personally I found it disgusting.
  4. I was surprised he didn't play. IUFLA said he has a dislocated finger, but you'd never know it from warmups. He was jumping all around dunking the ball with both hands, playing the ball off the backboard and then stuffing it full force. No hold back on either hand, and I didn't see any wrap on it. I'm not saying IUFLA is wrong, I just didn't see any evidence of injury. I figured he was in Woody's doghouse.
  5. I ruled out Race because of his laziness on defense, and give a sh!t attitude on display before and during the game. Kopp started us out strong, was focussed all night long. Played good defense and was a true leader in all the huddles. Special at-a-boy for CJ and JHS (even though JHS had 5 TO's he played hard all night long)
  6. FWIW, I was at the game, 6 rows up behind the backboard. Here's what I saw: Warmups: Knight would have suspended about 6 guys on the spot last night for the stunt they pulled. And none of the ass't coaches on the floor saw it, or ignored it. A group of IU players spent time during shooting warmups, not stretching warmups, practicing their damn dance steps. RJD was part of it along with Geronimo. Joking it up, not serious at all about the game in a few minutes. The most serious guy on the floor during warmups was Logan by far, followed by CJ, Malik, Gallo, Leal, JHS, and Kopp. The rest couldn't give a crap. You could tell Logan knew he was going to get some good minutes. Game: We got beat so many times off the bounce I was sick. And got by them in transition a ton. And I don't remember seeing one, not one, screen for the entire game from an IU player. Everybody was standing around waiting to get the ball and they try to drive or shoot it. Race never got out of second gear going up and down the court. Lots of people around me made comments about it. I was glad we had to go up against a zone all night. Good to get some experience in dealing with it. But one thing I did not see was any pass fakes, or shot fakes from us. Elon use the fake alot, and we bit almost every time. Thus they got a lot of open looks, and layups because of it. If we don't play a helluva lot better than this, we'll be lucky to finish in the ½ in the B1G. One side note. A few of you guys have mentioned starting Bates over Gallo. I disagree. Gallo is a monster on defense. The big difference between him and Bates on defense, is that Gallo tries to deny his man the ball. Bates waits until his guy receives the ball and then tries to shut him down. Both got beat a fair amount last night, mainly because of the fakes that Elon used. But Gallo is higher up on the rotation IMO. Bates shot is coming around and that's good, but Gallo's defense and energy trump Bates shot, for now.
  7. If you haven't looked at their stock price you may want to before you buy something from them. Looks like they are on the verge of going out of business...quickly. In the last year the stock price was $245+. Today it's $4.97
  8. Get ad blocker plus as an extension for your browser, as well as privacy badger. Should eliminate 99% of ads. I haven't seen one on any site, including You Tube for years.
  9. I think our starters got plenty of rest in the KU game while they were on the floor. But I agree, let's put in the "other guys" and let them get some experience and chemistry of their own.
  10. There...fixed it for you. If my version was in place, people might think twice about the decisions they are about to make.
  11. I love it man....I'm going to steal this. But I might change one word...
  12. I think it depends on the point spread. If we lay an egg like we did at Rutgers, then I agree. It'll be another Jeckel & Hyde season.
  13. Just saw a report from Travis County Sherrif's dept that bond was set at $10,000. I find it hard to believe he's still in jail. (not saying he isn't, this just seems weird).
  14. This is my brother Darryl, and my other brother Darryl
  15. I re-adjust my side mirrors to reflect the beams back at them.
  16. I'm not nearly as upset about this loss as I (still) am about the Rutgers loss. Clearly...AZ was, and is a better team. Bigger, stronger, faster, and more physical than we were. Lloyd (coach) is a pretty good coach from the looks of it. He was working the refs even before the tip. Hope Woody uses this as a blueprint of how much better we have to be to compete on the big stage. Yeah the refs were lousy, but they always are, esp on the road. But a few bad calls didn't cost us the game. We cost us the game by letting them run in transition. And not blocking out for rebounds, and turning our heads and getting beat on back cuts and blow bys. The one thing that stood out to me was the glaring difference on how they used a screen vs how we use a screen.
  17. Podcasts are fine. I didn't say they were bad, I just said they're not the same as a radio talk show. (not raining on you FKIM01) I listen occassionally to a couple of them. Not married to them, because most of them are boring because they're trying to fill time, instead of relating their topic in a concise and logical form. The vast majority are mediocre. I guess being an exec for most of my life, I've focussed on "give me the exec summary" of the facts, not all of the why's and where-fors on how you came to the conclusion. If I need more info, I'll ask for it. So that might explain my reluctance to hold most podcasts in high regard. (and radio talk shows too)
  18. Hands down Race. Close 2nd was Kopp. Race led with points, plus 9 boards, and played good defense overall, considering he was guarding a 7 footer most of the night. And of course the refs were blind as Stevie Wonder for most of the game.
  19. Just heard on TV that Phinese broke his foot in practice last week. Feel bad for the kid. Not a great way to end his career.
