  1. Happy for the win and for the team to have it. That said, Wisconsin sucks. I suppose, again, too bad we aren't in the West. But reality is we aren't. Too bad we couldn't find a win somewhere else since Akron. Then you wouldn't have to run the table. On or two more wins will be enough to keep Allen on the sidelines (if there ever was any doubt).
  2. Traded Gilmore and didnt bring in even a vet, let alone a legit starter. This is what rookies, UDFs and journeymen look like. Just get another high draft pick.
  3. D was great last week. Colossal failure today for Colts.
  4. Let's leave our 88th string CB one-on-one on Shaheed.
  5. Could be another cardiac finish. Can we pull one of these out?
  6. Also, o-line has been really shoddy in pass protection today.
  7. Front 7 has been disappointing today. I get the Stewart loss takes a lot away against the run, but another example of lack of depth if the drop off is this bad.
  8. Wow - Colts D has been Swiss cheeses ever since 1st qtr. Throw in an inopportune Minshew TO and you've got yourself another L. From looking competitive early in the season to might be time to look at the tank again.
  9. Seems to me ST coach should be on the chopping block and need a home run hire at OC too. Regardless, but particularly if Allen is spared and given his final year.
  10. Agree with those criticizing the play calling and decisions after our INT. Definitely not playing to win. The we give up our customary big play TD. Then our o-line gets destroyed on our first play after that. Appreciate the effort today and, while we played well, tired of moral victories being the best we can do.
  11. IU football - where a moral victory is our bowl game.
  12. Penalties, ST turnovers, wide open receiver, missed passes, ST TD return against. Well we lucked out against last one. D getting shit on though. Playing well with momentum then the muffed punt, offense trotting them back out with no rest.
  13. Hey, if CTA would be interested in downgrading to DCTA again to make room for a legit hire (if there's even a remote possibility that that's possible), bring it on. In fact, I'd take him as DC even without the "legit" hire. It just seems rather like a fantasy, though, that anyone involved would be comfortable with that. If there's another appropriate position surrounding the athletic program or football program, I'd take him. It's just not working with him as THE GUY.
  14. RE: Colts Loss Gameplan was great both sides, D was strong, O was good overall, just too many key mistakes. Who's to blame? Plenty to go around: injuries, refs, Steichen key decisions, Minshew lack of pocket awareness, individual instances of poor execution (i.e. TE and Freeland's complete whiff on apparent double team assignment on Garret on strip-sack TD in end zone late 2nd quarter), not having enough depth to cover or jettison DBJ in DB room, and the list goes on and on. Very frustrating loss, but I will state whole-heartedly that watching this team under Steichen's direction thus far is way more entertaining than the majority of Pagano or Reich. Hope they can all learn from it, improve, and we see the results from that the remainder of this season and then even more so next.
  15. Agreed. You absolutely could find plenty of those posts. It's just that we've all seen in the interim that it was all just some kin of freak accident.
  16. Yet another great decision - throw a 2 yard pass on 4th and 7.
  17. Glad to see JL walking off. That looked ugly.
  18. Lucas out for season after taking that shot?
  19. 2nd missed DPI. Although Sorsby underthrew it or TD.
  20. Dumb play by Rutgers there. Although did look like a DPI.
  21. Goodness. Entire D pursued the back.
  22. Is this the real defense? Was the OSU game a mirage or 2nd half v. Louisville just a mirage? Thought we really beefed up front 7 versus both run and pass through portal.
  23. How many significant contributors will be back at all if we continue in free fall the rest of this season? If you really think about the fall off the cliff following TA's two bowl seasons, the lack of an obvious, established, reliable QB candidate period is probably the biggest factor. Or at least that coupled with poor o-line play.
  24. Ditto. But as to the having the talent, do we really? I don't know anymore. Many here - myself included - early on felt the talent was there to be competitive. Now I find myself wondering. Was I deceived by the typical unrealistic early-season optimism? Or am I being deceived by poor coaching/player development? It's devolved so much that I can't even make up my mind. Well, I should say I definitely know coaching is a big part of the equation. But was my early assessment of talent level that far off?
  25. Yep. I think he needs minimum 3-3 to finish it. Otherwise I think he's out, whether at the end of this season or next. If he can't go .500 - note: not even bowl eligible (barring the unexpected) - he won't have enough momentum to keep players and make a run at a bowl next year.
