  1. UConn should jump both of you, but I think uva will be #1
  2. This is the kind of thing that really boils my blood. In 99% of cases, it's hard to prove a blown call would incontrovertibly change the outcome of the game, but this one is as clear as it gets. Rutgers won that game, and the right thing to do would be to go back and award them the win, but instead, the big ten just says, "we messed up, but the consequences are yours."
  3. Like Flynn said, hanging out beyond the out of bounds line is a clear and unfair advantage. One could surmise that this rule was written with a very similar scenario in mind - in that it gave the offensive player a clear and unfair advantage over the defense. Had the OSU player remained in bounds as he should have within the rules, his teammate would have had no passing angle due to the defenders in the area. Basically, this whole scenario is a textbook example of why this rule exists, at least in my opinion.
  4. This is a screenshot of the NCAA rulebook for 22-23. The highlighted part is new for this year, but is not applicable to this play as the OSU player's momentum isn't what took him out of bounds.
  5. Don't get me wrong, I'm anything but sad that Rutgers got a taste of their own medicine, but the last 7 seconds of that game were borderline criminal. The clock starts almost two full seconds late, McConnel pretty clearly fouls, the first guy from OSU pretty clearly steps out of bounds, and the shooter spends something like 3-4 seconds just chilling out of bounds before not clearly reestablishing himself inbounds prior to receiving the pass (which doesn't matter anyways at that point since he can't be the next guy to touch the ball). It's honestly breathtaking how badly Rutgers got screwed on that play.
  6. For the first time in my life, I looked up the actual NCAA rulebook because something was bothering me about that buzzer beater. Rutgers got hosed - the OSU player who hit the shot could not be the first one to touch the ball since he was out of bounds of his own volition. The NCAA also added an exception this year for players whose momentum carries them out of bounds, which still wouldn't apply because the OSU player was just nonchalantly out of bounds on his own; there was no momentum to carry him out.
  7. Is it just me, or did the OSU player not take at least two steps blatantly out of bounds?
  8. Lol I just looked at our schedule next year: we play Louisville at Lucas Oil
  9. Lot of speculation that it will be announced by the end of the week. Who coaches your bowl game if so?
  10. Omoruyi punched TJD...play on. Unreal
  11. If I, as a fan, had my pick of o-line coach from any other big ten school without knowing their individual resumes, Wisconsin and Iowa would be the first two schools I looked at - Wisconsin in particular.
  12. Galloway is this team's AJ Moye.
  13. ESPN isn't even trying to hide their bias at this point.
  14. The O-line looked a lot better the last couple games. If we can retain Carey, I think we'll be good there. I'll feel good if we can find a dual threat qb in the portal (or two) and keep most of our players on offense, especially Lucas and Camper.
  15. I grew up in the Region, so I've got a lot of experience when it comes to Purdue and its fans (even though it's really like a 50/50 split up there, despite the common perception). It seems to me that over the past ten years or so things have gotten much worse. It almost seems like Purdue fandom has adopted hating IU as a primary focus over even supporting their own teams sometimes. IU fan base has warts as well, but there's far more unhealthy hatred coming out of West Lafayette in my opinion.
  16. Apologies, definitely took your comment sarcastically haha. He is actually at Washington I believe, but not 100% sure on that.
  17. You missed the point. Deboer, while a great coach, isn't singularly responsible for Penix's success. Last year Penix wasn't successful in large part because he wasn't ready to return. Sure, there are lots of other factors that contributed to his poor play that were outside his control, but most people overlook the fact that he wasn't playing much better than Bazelak has this year. In 2020, though, he looked nearly as good as he does this year. Regardless, it's eminently obvious at this point that IU needs a dual threat QB, or even a run first QB to be successful. We were rolling yesterday before Williams got hurt.
  18. There's a lot of revisionist history going on here. Penix's best year here was under Sheridan. Coaching (and moreso the o-line) was a big problem last year, but just as big of a problem was that Penix was really not yet ready to come back last season.
  19. Did anyone see that California Baptist is -1.5 against Minnesota?
  20. Chances are none of them would have actually been called back then
  21. Dexter Williams gives me hope for next year (and next week); he's exactly what we need given the current offensive circumstances. Hindsight, but I've got to think we'd have won at least two more games and made a bowl if we had switched to him much earlier in the season.
  22. We have to be one of the unluckiest teams in the country
