  1. You know what I hate more than how bad the officiating in college basketball is? The fact that no sports media calls out bad officiating when it happens. How can all these talking heads rag on players day in and day out, but never say, "Courtney Greene and crew really had a bad game tonight. Missed/incorrectly called several game changing plays and allowed a team's reputation for "not fouling" to cloud their judgment on the way to a lopsided 46-8 free throw differential for the game. Collins was even ejected at the very end of the game because he was so livid with the poor showing by the officiating crew." Instead, we get the BTN crew recapping the game at the halftime of the Rutgers game, mention the free throw disparity, but play it off like it was a legitimate outcome of the game, while never even mentioning Collins getting tossed or the controversial calls at the end of the game.
  2. I'm getting into this even deeper: Purdue shot 63% (not great) from the free throw line, and MADE 21 more than NW TOOK. They were +23 from the line for the game, and needed OT to win.
  3. And people wonder why Purdue struggles in the tournament. They spend all Jan and Feb getting their offense insanely padded by the refs on simply ludicrous free throw disparities like this, and then when they get to the tournament, they can't play the way they've played the previous two months, and BAM - they lose to double digit seeds.
  4. Pretty sure it was the obvious offensive foul on the previous possession. Glad he got in the refs face, and I hope he says an earful at the press conference. Refs did just about everything they could to keep Purdue in this game.
  5. Are we going to review everything now? Come on
  6. If any other player committed the foul, it wouldn’t be reviewed, so this is a pure bias on the refs part
  7. I get that XJ has earned his reputation, but even reviewing this is bs
  8. That was the tipping point. Go up three scores and temper SF’s momentum. Failing to pick up that 4th down totally changed the game
  9. I would have actually cared about the Super Bowl if the lions had made it, but just another year of watching for the increasingly pedestrian commercials
  10. Lions are just giving the game away. Should have kicked it on both those 4th downs
  11. I gotta say, I think at least two of sparks fouls were not even close to actually being fouls, not that it really matters
  12. Watching this team just isn’t fun this year; it’s just frustrating
  13. I don’t know how anyone can look at those stats and come to any other conclusion than biased officiating being the primary cause of defeat tonight. We were just as aggressive in the paint as Purdue was. They were allowed to bully and push, and we were not. That not only affects free throw numbers; it affects how you’re forced to play the game. I get that we aren’t a good team, and I have absolutely no disagreement with that assessment right now, but this should have been a close game. It was only a blowout because of the officiating, so everyone bellyaching about the worst loss in 90 years can stow it. There’s absolutely no team that could have overcome the zebras tonight matched against a really good team like Purdue.
  14. This will come off as bitter, but it’s not entirely intended that way: This is the peak of his basketball career (I mean this season as a whole). He’s either going to get embarrassed in the NBA or go overseas after this, so let him enjoy it. First win against IU in two years. Just as long as someday he realizes how coddled he’s been by the refs in his college career.
  15. What is there really to discuss? The officiating was so atrocious and biased that I don’t know how you can really draw any conclusions from this beyond Woodson needing to work the refs a lot better.
  16. I don’t know how you can dog on anyone on this team right now. We came out absolutely swinging this half, and the refs just stomped all over us to hand all the momentum back to Purdue.
  17. They won’t even effing review the loyer shove. Don’t anybody tell me not to blame the refs for this one
  18. No, the refs took control
  19. I’d love to see Edey try to play in the nba
  20. Refball. Fair officiating IU is winning right now
  21. I cannot stress this enough: F***. The. Refs
