Outside of message boards and social media. There’s a massive divide right now internally. Woodson has to step down. We could be looking at 10 wins next year if there’s not a change.

I dunno....10 wins with kids that were the best player on their intermural team the year before seems like a damn good coaching job to me. 🤷‍♂️

Also, aparently there is a thing called "Sprint Football" (no players over 185lbs) in the NCAA....is there a 6ft n under league we could get in next year?  Just tell Sparks to slouch.

Huh?  Mike Woodson is on the media's poo list?  Since when and for what?  Horrible answers that make him sound like a volunteer ymca coach?

Hey now, I'm a volunteer YMCA coach!!  But come to think about it....my best teams did feature an inside-in offense with zero 3's made (or even attempted). 🤔

I'm sure there will be some sacrificial lambs brought to slaughter to appease the fanbase and try to convince us things will be different & better next season. So, who will be on the block? Who should be?

I'm assuming the majority of fans probably want Ya, Hunter and Armond Hill gone. Does Cheaney stay? Have Walsh, Hulls and Surface done enough to warrant retention?

I can't even think for me in my own mind what I would need to see next year to regain faith in this staff.

How can the admin even evaluate it?

Only get beat by an average of 9 points against all of our quad 1 games before B10 play?  Start playing patty-cake instead of hot potato in the post? Transition to a 4 in/1 out offense with Sparks at the point?

This might be the most rational post ever on HSN.

This is no place for things of that nature.

I went over to BTB, closed out a few ads and let them know that they could use my location 3 times.

Honestly, KathywithaC (again, great name) does have logical points. The main one, why would Dolson wage war on the administration? That's career suicide. Not only at IU, but if he wanted to be AD anywhere else, it may not be the best idea to start blowing shit up - so to speak. AND the season is not even over yet.

I've mentioned before that we need to remember there are some very egotistical boosters that push narratives as a way to turn up the heat. I swear these leaks always originate from boosters who play like they have clout, when they don't. Some can be a bunch of chatty Kathy's (with a K), who like to stir shit up.

I'm not claiming I have any inside info at all....I'm just looking at the historical batting average of rumors surrounding program altering decisions. It's not good.

I think it's safe to assume Woody is on the hot seat simply because this team is horrible and our roster outlook is bleak. BUT I am skeptical to the degree of this Dolson/QB feud. Sure they may disagree on the future of Woody, but is Dolson deliberately creating a smear campaign? Seems a bit far-fetched. Does he have Pearl waiting in the wings? Please. He may be interested in Pearl and rightfully so.....doesn't mean he has him close to being in the bag....especially as he's getting his top 15 team ready for the post season.

That may be the case, but there has to be an "out".  It cant just be 2-3 guys that do nothing but play defense and make post passes. If you use a dominant post player(s) to draw defenders in to open up OUTside players for straight line cuts or open 3s thats fantastic. But having two bigs play hot potato in a phone booth while guarded by 4 guys doesnt win games.

I don’t think Ware had sat to that point had he? Ware isn’t the type of player who can go 40 minutes, he needs some rest.

Ya, getting him a breather was probably the right call, but Sparks isnt the play. Bring Malik back in or move Walker down and play small. Sparks is nice to have to bang on guys in practice and absorb some of the fouls against guys like Eddy but not against guys with Buckys skill set.

Pearl's name has come up before the Crean hire, the Archie hire and the Woody hire.

I always assumed that the school thought there were instances he flirted too close to the line (regarding NCAA rules). But  I can't remember the details that surrounded narrative.

You do have to wonder if Pearl's a good enough candidate now, then why wasn't he the 3 previous times?

Because every grey line he's danced on is now gone? 🤷‍♂️

other topics:  do most people still think we can lose out and he'll still be back?  i'm not so sure anymore

also:  if he does get another year - who do we think is legit back?  like before he hits the portal, what is our starting 5?

lastly:  people talk about putting too much emphasis on stars when recruiting.  is there anyone on this board who thinks Woodson can go after more off the radar guys with fewer stars and make them into a team the way Purdue or Wisconsin does?

I think if you are trying to build something long term getting lower rated guys that you can shaped and mold over time works.  CMW has lost the luxury of time and is going to need to get some mercenaries to upgrade things quickly to get more time.

Agree or disagree, the argument can be made that there wasn't a top-flight transfer guard that was going to come because we had XJ and Galloway returning. Those guys, if healthy, were always going to play a lot of minutes.

If I remember correctly, I think i was even saying that last offseason.

But for a team that is so bad at shooting, you're telling me there wasn't a Nick Zeisloft type that we could have added?

A guy that was a straight shooter and maybe not super high on the transfer rankings lists? Remember, Zeisloft averaged like 6ppg at Ill St., and Crean took a ton of heat for that recruitment, but surrounded by talent, Ziesloft was a very key piece on a Big Ten title/Sweet Sixteen team.

We couldn't have added one guy like that?

    Or a Matt Roth...
