  1. He started out as a 5* in the early rankings for his class because he was more physically mature than many (I don't know if he just matured early or is a bit older). Then he started to drop as the rest of his class caught up to him physically. He ended up a 3* ranked around 300. I'm pretty sure a bunch of the better offers were pulled.
  2. I saw on another board that there were ~3k fans there and HH had only ~5k fans. So the turnout wasn't too bad, especially considering the lack of excitement from the more casual fans after the last 5 years coupled with COVID and the mask requirement. I also saw that they plan to do it again next year except on a Saturday with a home football game which might help attendance.
  3. So do you or don't you care? It's confusing. I could care less = I care so it is possible for me to care less I could NOT care less = I couldn't care less = I do not care so it is not possible for me to care less I agree with @bluegrassIU, you do come off as angry.
  4. If you have TMobile you can get $10/month off on YouTube tv.
  5. They just need to git gud and then they wouldn't lose players.
  6. Considering IU is going to win every NC between now and then I think the recruiting will be just fine.
  7. I'm pretty sure I've seen studies saying that playing multiple sports is better than concentrating on a single one.
  8. It was like that with Davis, too. So pretty much since Knight missing on targets has been bad.
  9. That was an even weaker punishment than I expected and I expected it to be weak. It appears game 2 of their season is against Texas, so not surprising I suppose. The most difficult part of their season is the pre-conference, after all.
  10. They also said, "I look inside myself and see my heart is black." You may be wondering what this has to do with your post or the topic in general. The answer is nothing.
  11. That's something you don't see every day. He must be trying to break the record for most years as a college basketball player. It might be hard to break the mark Jalen Coleman-Lands has going for him. At worst he'll match Jess Settles and Evan Eschmeyer with 6 years in school.
  12. It doesn't appear that IU wants to be "in it" at this time. They haven't even offered him and moving him to California probably makes it less likely that happens.
  13. Yes. On top of that, I believe they don't even produce it themselves, they just use the schools' student productions. It's basically a money grab where they can charge fans $10/month for something that costs them very little.
  14. I agree but at least it's only 1 game. It sucks that it's even that but it could be worse.
  15. The problem for me is that in the road games they got destroyed and we're never in either game. 6 points in one of them and shut out in the other. In the 3rd game at home, they found a way to lose. These are familiar things to IU fans. I agree that it's not surprising the record is 2-3 but how those games actually played out is the disappointing part. Let's not forget that they also barely beat WKU. This just seems closer to a typical IU football team than than the improved team fans hoping for.
  16. Yes, I imagine it does have that potential. That's not a good enough reason to keep things the way they are, though. Exploitive manipulation of what is or isn't an employee shouldn't be tolerated just to keep other sports. I suspect that other men's sports are more at risk than women's sports due to football and Title IX.
  17. I don't think that NBA rule is going to change anytime soon. There was some thought that it would but it now appears that won't happen. If the top NIL contracts remain around the same or increase, that will be good incentive for the top players to go to college rather than overseas, G-League, or the other options which are popping up.
  18. I would also mention that a lot of the recruiting info that you and the others pass on from the IU side of things is mostly the feelings on the IU side of things. Like if they feel confident or not. This is good information to be passed but it is hardly definitive and is prone to error. To blame a poster for saying that their source feels confident that they'll land a recruit which they eventually miss on is ridiculous. Even the best sources at IU won't have 100% of the information on the recruit so they could have very good reason to feel confident yet be wrong in the end.
  19. I find "this is the way it was for me so it shouldn't change" arguments very unconvincing. Just because you and your son didn't get paid to play doesn't make it right nor does it mean it shouldn't change. Congratulations to the two of you on successful college playing careers.
  20. I get what you're saying but it can be mutual even if they didn't offer. Mutual means that neither side wanted it. Not mutual would mean that one side wanted it but was rejected by the other. Of course, we have only his word that he would've turned down an offer from them while definitely knowing they didn't offer. Only he knows if he's telling the truth or if it's an after the fact rejection like a child saying, "Fine! I didn't want to play with you anyways!"
  21. Right. I don't think they've even offered Hooks.
  22. I'm not feeling even that optimistic about this game.
