  1. It's circular: entertaining play styles leads to better players which leads to entertaining play.
  2. Other than IU I've wanted the B1G to crash and burn in the tournament. Partly because I just really dislike some of the teams but mostly because I was the league to look in the mirror and figure out their style of play doesn't work in the modern game.
  3. Official was standing right there looking at the OSU player standing out of bounds strip the ball from the Villanova player then awards the ball to OSU. WTF
  4. No graduates allowed in the Ivy League. So if a player graduates in 3 years they have to transfer out of the league. So, yes, no grad transfers in.
  5. Bohannon got knocked out in a bar fight.
  6. As was already answered, they can enter whenever they want. However, there is a deadline for immediate eligibility for next season. IIRC, that will be May 1 this year and going forward. So expect a large number of transfers to show up in the portal in the next few weeks since most players don't wait too long after their season is over before entering the portal. Coaches can contact them as soon as they're in the portal.
  7. No, you're not alone in that. It was thought coming in to the season that he would play a lot more and that he could be a starter. A large part of that thinking was because of his shooting. However, the numbers don't lie. He just hasn't produced as expected so far and his transition to getting comfortable at the college level is taking longer than many thought it would take. I think it'll click for him and he'll play a much larger role and shoot much better next season. Shooting so far: Overall - 33.6%, 2P - 36.8%, 3P - 29.8%. His FT shooting has been good but only a small sample size. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/tamar-bates-1.html
  8. This is the first good reason I've seen how Lander was hurt by reclassifying. He wouldn't be a better college player now than he currently is by staying in HS another year but it certainly did take away the opportunity at awards like this and being a burger boy. That said, I'm not convinced he would've won Mr. Basketball.
  9. To remedy that you should email them every day. Every. Single. Day.
  10. Jumping the gun a bit by starting this thread now but the team has only 2 more losses until it's the offseason. The offseason has become my favorite part of IU basketball because they are no longer losing and we can dream about the potential for them to actually be a good team the next season. So let's get started. This doesn't have to just about IU. How does the coaching musical chairs work out? UL needs a new coach, Crean is gone from GA, Weber will likely be fired from KSU. The transfer market will likely be crazy again. Will Nijel Pack transfer after Weber is canned? If so, does IU pursue him?
  11. That's true but unfortunately not because we have so much talent back there but because the HC would rather play older players from what we've seen this year.
  12. They're both poor performers for sure. This is about what I expected from Parker.
  13. If by "everything" you mean football and men's basketball, then yes. However, the athletic department also includes women's basketball, the swim and diving teams, and soccer have all been doing well.
  14. Nothing about this season has me thinking that other schools will be falling over themselves to land one of our assistant coaches. Woodson also doesn't seem to like to change lineups or strategies so there is no reason to think that he'd look to change assistants.
  15. I wasn't very enthused by landing Kopp as a transfer as I didn't expect too much from him. Unfortunately, he has underperformed even that low expectation.
  16. I saw that he supposedly screwed up some recruiting over the summer but that was it. Any word on what happened/who the recruit was?
  17. Indeed. I personally hope for a large turnover in the roster after this season.
  18. None of the players, including Stewart, will run out of eligibility this year.
  19. I want aware of that. Do you know if that rule change was implemented? I missed it if so. That would be a good rule change, imo.
  20. I'm pretty confident. The rules for a medical redshirt: - played in 30% or less of the team's game (he's only played in 6 so that's not the issue) - the games played must be in the first half of the season (he's played since that threshold was passed making him ineligible) - season ending injury (we haven't heard anything about this but I'm sure they could find something if they wanted to) It's the timing of a few of the games he's played in which would make him ineligible according to my understanding of the rules.
  21. #1 is out. He's played in games so a regular redshirt can't happen but he's also played in games after the cutoff point in the season (1st 1/2) where he would be eligible for a medical redshirt if he's injured. So it's either #2 or possibly a #3 you didn't mention: he could be injured. Probably #2.
