  1. I really like TJD but this doesn't surprise me much if true. He had the same weaknesses in his hand he had as a freshman. On message boards there is often talk of who are the gym rats and TJD has never been rumored to be one. That said, this is also the first time I've seen a rumor that says that he doesn't/didn't work hard.
  2. I agree with the point you're making but disagree with the timeline. 30 years ago? No. Then they would've been 3-4 years in college then a high draft choice. 20 years ago they would've been straight from HS or one and done.
  3. I'm not sure but I don't think so. I don't think the rules on that changed.
  4. I've asked this many times before but have never been answered: What would Lander have gained to improve his game by another year in HS that he didn't get at IU? In other words, how did enrolling early hurt him? - His freshman year didn't count against his eligibility so it's not a "wasted" year. - At IU he had college level coaching. Although Miller and company weren't great they're still better than he would've gotten in HS. - He received college level weight training and conditioning as well as a nutrition plan. - He practiced daily against better players. - He got game experience against college players. - 1 year of college courses out of the way. So I don't see how enrolling early hurt him. He wasn't a flop because of it. He simply isn't as good as his ranking indicated. 2 different coaching staffs came to this same conclusion but it wasn't because he enrolled early. It was more beneficial to him than another year in HS or redshirting that season.
  5. Being allowed to have an agent is not tied to NIL. There is a rule in place that they can hire certain agents who have been approved by the NCAA. If they hire one of those they can return. If they hire an agent who hasn't been approved they are for sure gone.
  6. Right, we're probably headed to a time with less parity which is the way it used to be when there was the 15 scholarship limit which allowed P5 schools to stockpile talent.
  7. My exact first thought when I saw this news. Or maybe it was, "He's such a buffoon." He won't be missed.
  8. Some might get upset since you're talking about an IU basketball player that has never entered the transfer portal in the Transfer Portal 2022 thread. Not me, though, I like it when we go off topic!
  9. The only way to limit it would be to cap the total roster numbers, including walk-ons. I don't know if there is already a limit on the number of walk-ons allowed or not. After a point, adding more players to a team doesn't really help. There is a limited amount of PT. Also, players who are typically willing to walk-on aren't that good. Sure, there are exceptions but in general they're not so that would hurt their ability to have people/companies pony up the money to pay them NIL dollars.
  10. In state with a parent (or both?) that works at the university. So his tuition would be even less. 1/2 of in state tuition, I think. That said, I don't see it happening and I don't think it should.
  11. Maybe he's working on a Pizza X NIL deal...
  12. By seeing what was obvious and taking action then before being forced to. It's an inept and greedy organization so they chose to not do so. I'm happy so far with how it turned out and the NCAA days are numbered.
  13. There is no one on the IU boards that I know of who is close to DD's camp so all those rumors should be taken with a large grain of salt. They're based on how the IU people feel about the position they're in. It's great that they feel they've made a great impression and are confident that he'll choose IU but even with that it's far from certain. I also don't think they'd play that game of delaying a commitment until a spot opens.
  14. Actual footage of people warning the NCAA that this was going to happen.
  15. It hasn't been only the last 5 minutes of games where fatigue would be a factor. There are other points during games where the team just seemed to lose focus.
  16. There have already been some in football.
  17. Dude, you've been saying for years that if this thing or this other thing happens you'll stop watching college sports. Then those things happened and yet here you are.
  18. The NCAA left it up to the schools. It wasn't the courts who forced the change, it was the states passing laws.
  19. Ivy League doesn't even give scholarships so it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't allow NIL.
  20. That and the mindset to play 40 minutes instead of 35.
  21. To have immediate eligibility without needing a waiver it is. The exception is if a coach leaves then they have until June 1, I think. Or maybe July 1.
  22. Unless we're talking about Archie Miller.
  23. My favorite part of Kopp's game is his interviews. I wouldn't be upset if he left.
