  1. There's a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Considering he's calling himself one of the greatest ever before even playing a single NBA game, I'd say Sharpe is way passed that line.
  2. Right. His production has dropped as the competition increased. Purdue will be lucky if he can even match last year's numbers.
  3. Pretty much every visit at every school players get photos of themselves in the school's uniform. I wouldn't read much into it. Also, wrong thread.
  4. I'm not close to the situation but I am one that has said that. I've certainly changed my mind on him. That said, I still wouldn't be too upset if IU missed on him. Not because I don't think he'll be good at the next level, but because of the way Woodson has been recruiting and who he's been recruiting I think IU will still have plenty of talent.
  5. It's a bad draw. Not as bad as the football team's but I'm used to them losing. At least if IU does really well this year (either sport) we can be confident they're legit.
  6. I hope so too but I have my doubts. Part of it seems to be with just how he plays. He has kind of a reckless abandon with which he plays. He has had injury issues even throughout HS. Some of it has just been bad luck, like his most recent broken wrist, but I think a lot of it has to do with how he plays.
  7. Chris on BTB is saying the visit went well.
  8. I think he'll be as good as TJD as a freshman. He's actually ranked higher. That's why I'm surprised by many fans seeming to think he'll only get 10-15 mpg next season. I think he'll be more around 20 mpg because he'll be too good to have sitting on the bench.
  9. I saw on BTB that Galloway is expected to be able to start doing shooting drills in a matter of weeks. I hope that's true and he commits to making 1k 3-pointers every day.
  10. I don't think that's allowed on this board.
  11. I like him and wanted him to get an IU offer. However, even then it wasn't with the expectation that he would do much his first couple of years. I just don't think he'll be that good his freshman year.
  12. One of those is not like the others.
  13. I was going off 247. I don't care enough to hunt around to see if that is up-to-date or not. /shrug Maybe if PU has him listed at 6'0" the 5'10" might actually be accurate. https://247sports.com/player/braden-smith-46099843/ He's still small. Decent athlete but an incredible athlete. If your season is dependent on him coming in and having an immediate impact you're probably in trouble. I think he'll be good in a few years but not now.
  14. Malik Reneau comes off as a very happy person. This smile looks a bit forced but in almost all pictures I've seen of him, he has a huge grin.
  15. I bet if Miller was still here he'd be showing Booker film of TJD like he did with Kaufman.
  16. You're higher on Smith than I am. He's listed at 5'10", 165 lb which means he's probably more like 5'9", maybe even 5'8". He's the type of player that might be good his junior or senior year but I wouldn't expect much from him this year or next.
  17. I agree on Purdue since they won't have great guard play. Not having many players for those positions also means an injury could be devastating to them. They still have a good front court of Edey, Furst, and Kaufman. But they did lose a lot and didn't really add much in the offseason. Illinois I'm a bit more uncertain about. They lost a lot but also brought in some good talent. The loss of Cockburn is probably too much for Underwood to overcome. He didn't really do much at UofI before him so they may revert back to that. It seems it could go either way for them. I'm hoping the start to suck again, I really dislike that school.
  18. He could get that sponsorship anywhere, though. At IU maybe he could get a Jiffy Treet sponsorship so they'd have "DQ" telling people to buy ice cream from them.
  19. Doesn't surprise me, either. Partially for the reasons you state but also because of an interview I saw with Rosemond around the time he was hired. I don't remember exactly what was said but he basically said that it was important to evaluate recruits on more than just talent. Personality, motivation, and things like that are just as, if not more, important than just talent. He was saying they needed to watch not just how the kids did on the court but how they acted during timeouts in the huddle, how they responded to adversity, and things of that nature. So targeting players who love basketball and play hard all the time seems to line up with what he looks for in recruits, too.
  20. IU at 33-1 odds to win it all which is #12. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/where-iu-basketball-stands-in-the-2023-national-title-odds/ I feel like Michigan is really overrated. They lost a lot from a team that barely made the NCAAT last year and didn't add as much as they lost.
  21. That was my first thought, as well.
  22. If Bird plays tonight the Celtics are in trouble.
  23. That's hysterical and I can't stop watching.
