  2. Right. I didn't mean to imply that he's not a good player, I just meant that I don't think he'll get significantly better. I think him starting healthy would help the team even more than him improving his shooting. He already does a lot of things which help the team win.

  4. I'm sure there will be but it appears that the visit is happening today. I wouldn't expect articles until tomorrow at the earliest.
  5. Because I think 2 seasons of basically the same thing is a good indicator of what's to come. Galloway will be a player that gives 100% the whole time he's on the floor but he's reckless with his body and therefore injury prone. Might improve his shooting some but by this point I don't expect that to change significantly. He's one of my favorite players so I hope he proves me wrong. I know the coaching staff is trying to get him to take better care so he avoids injury but I don't that's really possible with the way he plays. Many on this board are bullish on Geronimo but I'm not so I agree with you on him. I don't think he'll be an effective 3 next season and I think freshman Reneau is better than him at the 4. Bates I think will make a big sophomore jump.
  6. I thought NBC wanted the lead-in game to be on NBC but since it's ND I didn't read that closely. Thanks for the correction.
  7. I saw an article the other day saying that ND wants $75M/year to stay independent. Their current deal is $15M/year, I believe, so that would be a huge jump. I guess being able to give ND this kind of deal is dependent upon NBC being able to make deals with other conferences to have other games to pair with ND games. I can't stand ND so I hope they don't get that deal and are forced to join a conference.
  8. I remember the posts you're talking about. You guys showed that Galloway made a difference in close games. The guy doesn't put up eye-popping numbers and isn't a great shooter, but he's a winner. He does the little things that don't show up in the box score which help the team win. He needs to be able to stay healthy. I saw earlier in the offseason that the coaching staff was making that an emphasis with him. I hope he's able to learn to avoid injury without having to change how he plays too much. He really does give it his all.
  9. Yes, how well this team will perform at the wing positions is the biggest question mark. Kopp we already know what we'll get. Same with Galloway. Bates has a ton of potential and hopefully he'll meet that this upcoming season. Geronimo is trying to transition to the wing or to at least be able to sometimes play there. Will he be successful in that? If so, how long will it take? Can Gunn or Banks make significant contributions this season? I have my doubts, especially about Gunn, but we'll see.
  10. I think they're the team to beat but I don't think it's as inevitable as many seem to think that he goes there. I've seen stuff about him almost committing to MSU in the spring and others basically saying it's a lock. If so, I doubt he would've just released a top 10. That doesn't seem like someone who has his mind set and is on the cusp of making a commitment.
  11. 2 crystal ball picks for MSU. 1 is from an MSU homer but the other is Travis Branham who gave it a 7 confidence.
  12. He'll get to IU and then Marshall will get to work on him. After that he won't be a 28% shooter...
  13. I know they're working on shooting. Mine was a tongue in check response about a handful of posters who complain about every Marshall post saying that working on shooting is more important.
  14. There was already a thread started. http://www.hoosiersportsnation.com/index.php?/topic/10446-yves-missi-2024/#comment-468530
  15. That's a good question. I guess I would say yes if the player greatly outperforms his ranking out of HS.
  16. From Reneau's interview the other day, it sounds like the biggest adjustment for him is not being able to just muscle through guys anymore. Going up against bigs who are not only strong but skilled should definitely help him make that adjustment quickly.
  17. True. It's almost as if we've had poor roster management for the past 20 years.... Oh, wait, we have
  18. They're recruiting at very least Power and Page hard. So it's not as though they're putting all their eggs in the Booker basket.
  19. What I really like about this coaching staff's approach to recruiting is that they aren't timid and don't back down. They have players they want and go after them hard even if they have an outside chance of landing them. It's already paid off by landing Reneau. I don't think anyone thought IU had a chance when he decommitted. This is a much different approach to recruiting than IU has had for a long time.
  20. Gary Parrish would like to see the IU/UK games resumed as a Home/Home series. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/dribble-handoff-duke-vs-gonzaga-kentucky-vs-indiana-among-home-and-home-hoops-series-wed-like-to-see/
  21. Was this conversation with someone that would see practices to know these things first hand or is this second hand and/or just opinion/guesses?
  22. It's easy to believe. He comes in with a college ready body and a lot of skill. He spent the last 2 seasons practicing and playing against other high level D1 talent. There is some adjustment, which he talks about, but not as much as for a lot of other players. I really think he's going to have a real impact on the team as a 20-25 mpg guy.
