Could be a number of things. Here are a few.

    1. Recruit doesn't like his fit in the system

    2. Recruit doesn't like the vibe of the players in the program

    3. Recruit doesn't like the vibe of the school and campus itself once they get there

    4. There's some miscommunication's between recruit and coaches

    5. There's poor communication between recruit and players on the team

    6. NIL isn't up to the players liking when it's all said and done

    7. Player doesn't like the set up and format of the campus and doesn't feel comfortable

    8. Recruit doesn't like the way the coaches handle player development or practices when they see them in person

There could any number of other things as well that can impact a visit for a recruit. Every recruit is different in what they are looking for.

    9. Recruit isn't impressed by basketball facilities and/or living arrangements.

    10. Coach or staff starts talking about things which upset the recruit or recruit's family (this definitely happened at IU).

It also has Geronimo on there. Although part (maybe a big part) of the reason he transferred is because he couldn't get enough PT because he CANNOT play either forward spot like the author seems to think.

Jordan Geronimo, Maryland: People in Bloomington may not want to hear this, but Geronimo is in line to have a major role for the Terps this season after transferring from Indiana. Capable of playing either forward spot, the 6-6 Geronimo should immediately carve out a role in Maryland’s rotation thanks to his willingness to do all the little things that affect winning. Don’t be shocked if this guy is a fan favorite in College Park by Christmas.

I said it earlier but everyone is basing things on their own life and culture. Probably not the same as a black man in a city.
Totally different situation but I myself have had obscenities yelled at me by a policeman just because I was the wrong color in the wrong neighborhood! BLM didn’t help the situation. I’m not justifying MM, I learned long time ago it’s ‘yes sir!’ But you don’t know the life he has lived!!

This is a great point. I realized about 10 years ago my experiences with police as a white guy are different than those of POC.

was driving with a couple of Hispanic friends as passengers. We were on a freeway that was moving ok but a lot of traffic. There was a cop in the lane next to me driving like an a-hole. I gave him an annoyed look and my friends were like, "What are you doing!?" They really thought my look was going to get us pulled over and messed with. That really hit me.

Knowing something that simple can set cops off when the person has dark skin, I'm not surprised MM didn't want to get out of the car. If they were determined to arrest him (they were - they broke his window to get him), I can't imagine they were acting very reasonable at that point.

That's the weird thing... he wasn't until he broke his wrist in HS at the end of his SR and then hurt it again at IU. When Romeo was a SO/JR in HS he was a knockdown 3pt shooter. He shot 38% from 3 as a SO. They never tried to fix his wrist in HS because they thought/hoped he was going to have a chance to break Damon Bailey's all-time scoring record... even rushed him back from that injury so he'd have a chance.

I blame Jim Shannon+his dad for the way he was coached in HS+AAU.... it was literally ISO ball for Romeo every possession and he NEVER figured out how to play without the ball, whatsoever... and lord knows he got zero coaching on that when Archie was here.

    Quite honestly, Romeo needed Crean.

Crean would've been better than Miller for him, sure, but so would 90% of the other college coaches out there.

That was a weird situation. Ledlum committed to IU while on his visit more or less and then changed his mind before he announced after going on the Tennessee visit

And Trey Kaufman supposedly had a silent verbal to IU. Just because posters say it happened doesn't mean that it did. It's also possible Ledlum is just the type of person who tells others what they want to hear. In the end, he never publicly announced for IU so what may or may not have happened behind closed doors doesn't matter too much.

Man, that really seems like the perfect definition of a glorified pep rally.

Do you honestly think it's a big day for Woody? He's excited for the half-assed scrimmage? The 10,000th dunk contest he's seen? The Gucci Mane concert? Even if he's a fan, a grown man is excited for a 10 minute show? The players are probably excited, they're still new to hype like that, but I promise you it's not a big day for Woody.

Maybe Boogie is a fan, maybe Boogie is excited for a glorified pep rally - he's probably never been to one before - so maybe he wants to commit and go. I definitely think that could be the case. But, if Boogie decided on Kentucky last week, he never once tried to time his announcement around our pep rally. It he didn't pick us, our event is no where on his radar. I'm sure Kentucky has a similar event, and Alabama, too, does he have to time his announcement so as not to interfere with those?

A big day for Woodson personally? In that he's excited and looking forward to it? Probably not. It is, however, a big recruiting event and important to the players so it's a big day for Indiana Basketball and, by extension, Woodson.

Does Boogie care? I don't know. But it is still a big day for IU and Woodson.

As for Kentucky and Alabama, Kentucky already had theirs. Alabama probably has one but I don't know what it's called and can't find info on it.
