  1. The problem is, if X is viewed as a good shooter by the opponent, and they decide to cover him on the line, his release is slow and low. We'll need to work to get him open, because he's not going to be successful when pressured.
  2. Watching golf will not be the same without Faldo.
  3. My daughter went back last week. Almost said my 'kids' out of habit, but my son graduated this spring. I'm getting old.
  4. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ftw/2022/08/01/liv-golf-invitational-series-donald-trump-meaningless-exhibition/10208253002/ The third LIV Golf exhibition happened this past weekend in New Jersey at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster where somebody won the tournament and took home a lot of money. I'm sure some teams also won a good chunk of money for getting the best scores. Oh, and other players who didn't come close to winning still likely won a bunch of money, too. All of that is probably forgotten now by most sports fans because what happens at LIV Golf events really doesn't matter. There is no meaning to any of it. They are watered down exhibitions played over three days with no cut and no reason to care who lifts a trophy on the final day. There is no spark. There is no history. There is nothing that comes even remotely close to connecting fans with the players because how is one supposed to care at all about some golfer winning more money for their bank account?

  6. Soto deal could hold entire deadline hostage until it happens. Teams in running for him wont want to move assets until his trade goes through.
  7. Has the game of baseball changed? . Ummmm,,,,,,,,,Yeah. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/34324990/los-angeles-angels-starter-reid-detmers-records-immaculate-inning-texas-rangers
  8. Deebo and the Niners have kissed and made up. $73.5M over 3 years ain't bad. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34325556/san-francisco-49ers-deebo-samuel-agree-3-year-extension-worth-735m
  9. 5 players finish 20 under or better. Every player that makes the cut finishes under par. How do we make the courses tougher for today's players?
  10. The Reds already have two Farmers (Kyle and Buck). How many do you want?
  11. Play was reviewed and overruled.
  12. Buck Farmer = Dennis Eckersley. Same guy. Was never worried.
  13. Agree 100% with this. I absolutely loved having Dusty as manager.
  14. Castellanos and Winker would both be performing better in Great American Ballpark.
  15. He frustrated the crap out of me last year. So many 'meh' weeks for the price. that said, the TE position on my other league was a revolving door all year. got a couple of 0.00 weeks from Giesecki, Jared Cook, and the like. Such a thin position.
  16. 4 weeks until draft day. Still need @KoB2011and @iuthruandthruto join their respective leagues. And, a few guys need to update their team name to match their screen name. Several of you had inquired about a dynasty league. I'll be happy to join one, but don't want to necessarily organize it, at least not this season. If someone else want to try and get it organized, that's great. Otherwise, we can re-evaluate the level of interest next season. Finally, for the new players this year, we will also use this thread during the season to discuss weekly results, trash talk, etc. I encourage everyone to participate. It adds to the experience. Everyone seems to be a little shy before the draft, as to not give away any draft strategy. But, I'm not. I'll state for the record now that, if I get the #1 pick, I will be drafting Jonathan Taylor (presuming he's healthy)*. Of course, none of us will know if I get the #1 pick until 30 minutes before the draft. *poster has been known to stretch the truth or downright lie when it serves his purpose.
  17. Now, I'm worried about the secondary.
  18. I read most of that thread on Redzone up until mid-day today. I did not see anyone complaining about the return. Most people thought it was an outstanding group of prospects. What many of those believe, and I tend to agree with them, is that Reds ownership will sell off this group of players as well before they reach tenure for free agency. We've seen that song and dance before. The Reds simply won't keep a core group of players for 5-6 straight years like they did in the 70's with teh Big red Machine, or like the Astros are doing now. Hunter Greene will be traded before he reaches free agency. So will Nick Lodolo, Tyler Stephenson, Jonathan India, and every player that comes up through the system and becomes an all-star caliber player.
