  1. Could be how Bigfoot fishes. Who knows.
  2. Don't know about you guys, but, to me, this one has a ring of truth to it. I mean the dude was conspiring with Bigfoot. You have to get ahead of a situation like that. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/oklahoma-man-says-bigfoot-made-him-kill-his-fishing-partner-police-say/ar-AAZtNqV “So, his statement was that Mr. Knighten had summoned ‘Bigfoot’ to come and kill him, and that’s why he had to kill Mr. Knighten,” Christian told local reporters.
  3. Whitt Merrifield's consecutive games played streak ends at 553. The new leader is Matt Olson at 221. https://www.espn.co.uk/mlb/story/_/id/34228099/kansas-city-royals-infielder-whit-merrifield-games-played-streak-ends-553 I've always been interested in non-standard stats like this.
  4. That was the game in the series the Reds won. In extra innings.
  5. Max Scherzer, fresh of the IL, is dealing tonight. 1 hitter through 6. Dominant pitchers in their late 30's have always been a favorite of mine. Verlander is another favorite of mine. And, to think the Tigers used to have both.
  6. That sucks. The Reds are always blacked out for me on MLB network, but, since I have Direct TV, I get them on the Bally Sports Network.
  7. MLB Network running a scroll at the bottom of the screen for the All-Star Rosters. For the NL, they listed someone named Kyler Schwarber.
  8. Doing the WFH thing until I test Covid-free. Have the Tigers/Royals game on the TV in the background. Daytime baseball is a treat. I personally prefer to attend games at night due to the heat. But, watching on TV? Give me the day game every single time. Gonna side with @IU Scottand say it would be nice to get some World Series games in the daytime again.
  9. You were on the wheel last year (picks 12 & 13). So, it was one of those.
  10. Not until the 6th pick. Actually, correct. Do not take him at all. His ADP is in the 1-5 group regardless of where he is taken on our league. Just don't draft him at all. And, to help you avoid the temptation, just let me draft him. I'll take the hit for all of HSN.
  11. Saw this little nugget of information. During the 10-year span from 2012-2021, Fantasy ADP Picks 1-5 missed a total of 203 games, an average of slightly over 20 per season (which averages out to about 4 games per season per pick). Not until ADP picks 71-75 is there a 5-pick window that had more total games missed during that time (220 total games missed over the 10 years).
  12. There aren't really any spoilers in our posts above. I'm 4 episodes in and I have to say the tv series is helping me better understand the nuances of the book. I mentioned above that it was not a book I liked that much, but the tv series is piecing some things together for me that I missed in the book. If you enjoyed the book, then I encourage you to read the next two in the series. I liked them a lot better. The character develops and the violence, while still there, does not seem as overwhelming in the latter two books.
  13. Not a problem. I'm sure the Panthers didn't see this report and want have any pre-conceived opinions.
  14. I don't want Kyle to come to the Reds on the downside of his career. If he's not still in his prime, don't bring him home. He's not going to be a Hall of Famer.
  15. Didn't some rider break his neck in a collision with a fan? I think he actually finished the stage, but x-rays later showed the fracture.
  16. Absolutely. Without the Cinderella element, the NCAA Tournament, and therefore college basketball, is not nearly as relevant. I'm sure there are people in power that understand that. The question is whether they end up having any influence or not.
  17. Starting their push to the playoffs.
  18. No. And that has no chance of happening, regardless of structure. But, if there ends up seeing a super-conference breakaway, we are headed towards a Clemson, LSU, Penn State, Alabama basketball Final Four.
  19. My point is, football's claim at being the be all to end all of revenue is bogus. Without the enormous revenue generated by the NCAA tournament, Ohio State and Alabama stand to lose a lot of money for secondary sports just like Georgetown and Villanova would. I don't care how successful your football program is, without the Tournament money, schools will feel it. The mistake these schools are making is assuming people will watch a NCAA tournament headlined by Clemson and LSU instead of one featuring Duke, Kansas, and Villanova, or Cinderella's like Loyola and St. Peters. Guess what. They won't.
  20. Here is the link to the article you want to paste. https://finance.zacks.com/much-money-college-sports-generate-10346.html That said, here is a direct quote from that article. It's semantics. But, the bottom line is that the NCAA tournament is the largest source of NCAA revenue. It helps fund minor sports at colleges that don't have a football program.
  21. I copied and pasted the information. Didn't make it up.
  22. That's not true. You ruin the men's basketball tournament and the money could just dry up a bit. And, I personally think the tournament needs it's opening weekend of David vs, Goliath and the occasional Loyola type run. https://en.as.com/en/2022/03/17/other_sports/1647510236_306039.html
