  1. Why wait on Notre Dame. If you're ultimately headed to 20 teams, you can still add Oregon an Washington to get to 18. And, then you can pause while waiting for the Irish. Gives UCLA and USC some closer conference foes. Another question would be, if you do add Notre Dame, who comes in with them? A West Coast team with Notre Dame does not make sense.
  2. I understand, but does not change how I feel. My dream Big Ten Illinois Indiana Iowa Michigan Michigan State Minnesota Northwestern Ohio State Purdue Wisconsin
  3. As is UNC's academic curriculum for athletes.
  4. ND would make 3 Big Ten teams in the state of Indiana. I would rather look elsewhere.
  5. You're not as pretty as she is, but I'll take you to the prom if she says no.
  6. As an IU fan, you can't go labelling Juwan Morgan as 'fodder'. Gotta find a nicer way to say it. How about 'some guys that will compete for a roster spot'. Sounds so much nicer. That said, if it was a Purdue guy, by all means, use the word fodder.
  7. Bump. Just 1 more guarantees us two 12 team leagues. 2 more and we close the door, so don't hesitate if you want to join. For those that asked about a dynasty league, I'll start looking at those numbers more closely after these two redraft leagues are filled. I would want at least 10 for dynasty.
  8. Last available spot in superconference comes down to IU and Rutgers. Who gets it? Indiana loses a lot of tiebreakers to our football peers. The State, and thus the media markets are covered with Notre Dame. Illinois gets in ahead of us due to no other school representing one of the most populous states in the country. Baltimore/DC media market dwarfs the Indy media market. Advantage Maryland. UNC is both better at football and in a more populous state. All I can say is IU needs to be a 'more attractive' option than Purdue when the final invitations to the ball are sent or there is no hope.
  9. It would have a trickle down effect on all sports. Are you going to be happy with a conference championship in basketball when the conference contains Vandy, Iowa State, and Kansas State instead of OSU, UM, and MSU?
  10. Your 32 team super league is exactly what I fear. Might be 48 teams instead (4 divisions of 12). We have no chance at being part of it with 32 teams. We're on the fringe if it goes to 48. One thing I am certain of. No super league structure will contain both IU and Purdue. ND would be a given. There won't be 3 schools from a basketball state invited to a football party. IU fans need to understand this is a legit concern. We can't have winless conference seasons in football the next 5-7 years.
  11. You dont get kicked out. You get left in a shell of a conference when the power teams leave. Think Oregon State and Washington State if Oregon and Washington leave the Pac12.
  12. And, let's clear up another misconception. When you start talking about groups of 20-24 teams, that is NOT a conference. Conference teams play each other. If there are 20 teams in a group, they cant all play each other, not just in football, but in any sport. It's one thing to skip a team or two in a given year like what happens in baseball. It's quite different to not play half the other teams until the conference tournament. Schools could go years without facing each other. Might not ever play a team in football if there are two 10-12 team divisions.
  13. Exactly my point when I posed the question above about where we fit into the hierarchy. Superconferences will NOT be a good thing for IU. At the best we are a perpetual 2nd division club (in football). At the worst, the stronger football schools in the conference go out on their own to partner with other elite programs across the country and IU is left in a watered down Big 10 with the likes of Rutgers, Maryland, Purdue, Northwestern, etc. Not a good thing folks. Not at all.
  14. So, where does IU fit in the hierarchy of Super-Conferences? If those Super-Conferences have 64 schools? What if there are only 48?
  15. So, if I'm interpreting you correctly, you are saying IU's rowing team stinks and my wife is a lousy cook.
  16. Inside The Hall has published press releases from both schools.
  17. Saw them once in a Christmas word scramble.
  18. Doing a comparison of the new Big Ten schools against existing ones.
  19. Cal and Stanford would be a packaged deal. Same as UCLA and USC. You take both or neither.
  20. No way Oregon or Washington is considered before Stanford. Nike U or possibly the top academic school in all of America? A school that just happens to have the best overall athletic program in the country to boot. Oh, and let's not forget tv market size.
  21. If the Big Ten is not done, I 100% guarantee Stanford is part of the equation. And, honestly Cal probably comes along with them.
  22. BYU is saying 'crap, if we would have waited, we could be headed to Pac12 instead of Big12. I'm going to toss out the names San Diego State and Colorado State as replacements for the Pac12. A let down for sure for the conference, but they just about have to add at least one SoCal school, dont they?
