  1. Who are you rooting for? High school basketball in the Southwestern part of the state is special, especially among the small schools.

  4. Posted this in the NFL thread and thought it was worth sharing here as well. My son and I were at a high school basketball game when he saw the news on twitter. Of course, he is only familiar with Madden because of the video game and the promotion of the recent documentary. We talked about Madden on the drive home. This is one of those that really hits home with me. Not because I was a Raiders fan, because I wasn't. But, because he was such a prominent sports figure when I was growing up.
  5. IUPUI may not have the game available. We know Bellarmine does, and apparently Valpo does as well. Bellarmine is only two hours away and can make it a single day trip. No overnight accommodations necessary. It's just silly that is not being considered.
  6. IU's women's game against Rutgers postponed due to Covid issues with the Scarlett Knights. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaabk/indiana-womens-basketball-road-game-versus-rutgers-postponed/ar-AASdFmT?ocid=uxbndlbing
  7. Now, ESPN is showing our women's game against Rutgers is postponed. Anyone know the story on that one?
  8. Man. That is frustrating as a fan. If I would have had tickets to the game, I would be inclined to express my frustration directly with the athletic office. Still may. Would point out UK's efforts to replace Louisville and the fact that Bellarmine available as the perfect opponent. What an opportunity missed. now, we have to worry about some rust on the guys headed into Big Ten play.

  10. Which is exactly the reason why the school should be proactive in trying to find a replacement. These games during holidays and school breaks are often the only time a lot of fans can get tickets. Bellarmine makes the perfect replacement team. i hope the school makes that happen and will be disappointed if it doesn't.
  11. Gotta give a lot of credit to Rico to sticking with his team. I proposed a pretty big trade to him after Week 3 or 4 (he had not won yet) that I felt could help both of our teams. He declined, and his exact quote was "Nah, I will just lie in the bed I made." It was either strong belief in his team, or he thought I was trying to swindle him since he was down.
  12. Actually, the fewest transactions award goes to @bluegrassIU.
  13. Well, you would assume that an announcement of Bellarmine, or any other replacement, would need to happen today. For TV purposes, I assume BTN would prefer us to just keep our spot on their schedule. And, it's not like Bellarmine would have any major travel plans. It's a same day bus trip back and forth for them.
  14. If the conferences keep the February schedule intact, it allows them most of the month of January to work out all of the logistics for moving the January games to March. You're not blowing up the entire schedule, just repositioning some of it. I realize they won't do anything like this, but the end result is that January is going to be a Cluster.
  15. I'm not disputing that. But, the premise of my post was that the policies would not change. And, they are not. So, discussion of that angle is pointless.
  16. Would be a perfect replacement opponent. The Bellarmine AD should be on the phone now, if not already.
  17. Given that the Colts play Jacksonville in the last week of the season, it probably will not hurt their playoff chances that much. The Raiders, however, will benefit greatly if they can come into Indy and steal a win.
  18. Unvaccinated. - He's very likely not going to play this weekend.
  19. With the current Covid policies in place, there is little chance that the month of January will be anything short of total chaos. Under the assumption that the policies, themselves, are not going to change, it's time the NCAA to change the schedule. Approach the city of Indianapolis about a repeat performance hosting the entire tourney, only have it take place in April, not March. All February game schedules remain in place. Games scheduled for January are moved to March, and it is up to each conference to get them on the calendar in an order that works for each school. Not a single game is left scheduled in January. Conference tournament championships will be held over a single week, not two, in order from the schedule dragging too far out in the future. ESPN has enough channels to make sure everything gets covered. The major conferences can give up ESPN coverage for their early round games to their respective network partners (BTN ACC, SEC, etc) so that all games are still televised. Drastic? Yes. But, it will beat the heck out of the scheduling chaos we are going to see in January with all the postponements and cancellations.
  20. I wonder if they will even consider trying to find a replacement team. UK was able to line up WKU last week after UL cancelled. No reason why we can't find a team from Indiana or one of the bordering states to come in as a replacement.

  22. Standings after Week 16. @KDBsolidifies his hold on the top spot with his 4th straight week of double-digit correct picks. meanwhile, despite forgetting to pick the Thursday night game, I secured my second straight weekly win.
  23. The public believes in you. The line has already moved to (-6).
