  1. So, if I don't, I'm left with two healthy QBs in a 2 QB league. If Ryan or Stafford catches Covid, I'm dumpster diving for a trash QB. Is Ryan that much of a better option than Tannehill? I obviously intend on playing Stafford, but leaning on taking the sure start with Tannehill and having Ryan in reserve in case something happens to Stafford.
  2. Wow. It's critical to check multiple times a day for news. Made some lineup changes to my ESPN team this morning. Just looked again and saw the Cook, who I have, has Covid. Thankfully, I have Mattison as well. Unfortunately, it's a 2 QB league, and my second QB is Taysom Hill, who now has Covid as well. I have Tannehill and Ryan on the bench. Kept Ryan on my roster even after picking up Hill because I didn't want anyone else to be able to grab a starting QB if there was an injury. So, my question to you guys is do I start Tannehill against SF tonight or Ryan against Detroit on Sunday. I like Ryan's matchup better, but I feel I have to start Tannehill since Ryan or Stafford (who is my other QB) catch Covid by Sunday. Being a 2 QB league, the only starters on the waiver wire are Cam, Z. Wilson, and Drew Lock (assuming Teddy is still out)
  3. They averaged over 100 points against the trio of Brevard, St. Andrews, and Milligan. What does that mean? I'm assuming it means that their Athletic Director's rolodex does not have a full compliment of other potential D1 opponents.
  4. Back in high school, there was a phrase involving the 'monkey' that was used a lot. But, it did not involve 'rushing' it. Never heard 'rush' used with monkey before.
  5. Was out doing some last minute Christmas shopping, so did not see the game. Heard some of Fisch's call in the car, primarily in the first half. In looking at the box, the thing that jumped out at me is the starters only had 3 turnovers.
  6. I'm not the coach, but that infraction does not warrant benching in my opinion.
  7. @rico made a pact with Satan, himself, when he was sitting at 0-5. There is no other explanation for where he is now.
  8. I'm the opposite. I don't like the two week playoff. If that's what the majority wants, we can consider it. But, I'm one of those people who care more about how I do in the regular season than I am the playoffs. If I win the regular season, but lose in the playoffs, I still feel good about the season. I prefer the regular season to be as long as possible. A 2 week championship takes a week away from that.
  9. And, here is how the first week of playoffs went down for KDB's league. Once again, it's the top 4 seeds in the semis.
  10. For those interested in how the playoffs look in the HSN league you are not a part of, here is how this week played out in Kev's league. Top 4 seeds will be in the semis.
  11. If we lose some guys, I'm hoping we can find new blood and keep it at 12 team leagues. With 10 team leagues, waivers become a little too easy imo. And, the premier league concept is still in the works, though not entirely finalized. I plan on publishing a detailed plan after the playoffs.
  12. Week 16 odds 49ers (-3.5) @ Titans Browns @ Packers (-7) Colts @ Cards (-1) Lions @ Falcons (-5.5) Ravens @ Bengals (-2.5) Rams (-3) @ Vikings Bills @ Patriots (-2.5) Jaguars @ Jets (-2.5) Giants @ Eagles (-10) Bucs (-10,5) @ Panthers Chargers (-9) @ Texans Bears @ Seahawks (-6.5) Steelers @ Chiefs (-7.5) Broncos @ Raiders (-1.5) Football Team @ Cowboys (-10.5) Dolphins @ Saints (-3)
  13. Results after Week 15. Woo-Hoo! My first solo weekly win. In other, not as important news, @KDBtakes over sole possession of first place for the season. But, did I already mention I won the weekly prize!
  14. Tyreke Hill joining Kelce in the Chiefs' Covid protocol.
  15. My son was born 6 weeks premature. If I would have gone to work that morning on the day he was born, it is likely both he and my wife would have died. I could tell my something was wrong with my wife. She insisted I go to work, but I refused. Took her to the doctor and emergency C-Section was scheduled for later that day. My daughter was also premature (5 weeks). She came home on a heart monitor. Had one really bad scare when the monitor went off and it took us several seconds to get her to 'wake up'. She finally outgrew that issue, but was diagnosed with cancer when she was 3. Thankfully, it was Stage 1 and treatable with surgery and a few months of chemo.
  16. Agreed. I fully expect XJ to be back. And, if Parker plays, it will be at IU. Just a matter of whether or not he's decided to move on to the next stage of his life or not.
  17. It really is an excellent article. For people frustrated with the way he plays, I'm interested in knowing if the insight into who he is changes anything. I'll admit there are times when I'm cringing when he does certain things, but I can honestly say that I've never felt he acted selfishly on the court. I don't think he does it to 'get his', rather he does because he wants to win and feels, as PG, it's his responsibility to make something happen. I understand and can appreciate that mindset. Being aggressive does not make you selfish. Bottom line is that the young man can represent the program well both on and off the court. He is invaluable to this team. However far we go this year, you can assume it will be farther than we would have gone had he not chosen IU. And, for that, we should all be grateful.
  18. Well, it appears I am going to be the 2 seed in my ESPN league unless Stafford can find a way to score a whole bunch of points tonight without Cooper Kupp scoring any. Every single position player underachieved for me this week. None of them were necessarily bad, it's just they were scoring 11 and 12 points instead of 17+. The next order of business is that I have to replace Godwin. Best choices I see available are: AB Gage Boyd Gage scares me, and I already have Pitts. I like what I'm seeing from Boyd the last 3 weeks. AB likely has the most upside, but he can explode in a bad way as well. What do you guys think?
  19. I like it. Quite frankly, I don't like the games against the Idaho's of the world. This would be a game I actually would like to attend. Kind of like the Cincinnati game was this year. I have no desire to spend the time or money going to memorial Stadium to see us play the Idaho's of the world.
  20. Maybe WKU can make it a double. They beat Louisville earlier in the season.
  21. Covid spelled backwards is 'Divoc'. Pronounced 'Dee-vock'. As in, "What divoc is going on?". Tying it all to basketball: 1) Vlade Divac was a darn good ballplayer. 2) Unlike Kofi Cockburn, the 'ck' sound in divoc is not silent. Otherwise we would be saying 'Devo' and someone would complain it belonged in the music thread. On a side note, it took me 4 tries to get my phone to accept the word 'divoc'. It kept auto correcting it to 'divorce'. My phone knows me too well.
  22. Nah. The only people worthy of my respect are people I like.
