IU Scott
Just heard on the radio that USC and UCLA is headed to the Big Ten in 2024
IU Scott
Can't imagine the travel expenses for the Big Ten schools having to travel to LA. How will Rutgers women's softball. Be able to travel to LA or any on the non revenue sports.

IUFLA
I think it will happen, and I think it's a good thing for the Big 10. You're bringing in the 2nd biggest TV market (LA) in the US... Both are blue bloods in different sports. UCLA is 2nd and USC 3rd in overall NCAA championships. What's not to like? Travel costs are miniscule to the money that'll be brought in... 4

To me your conference is supposed to be regionally and the last few expanses has killed conferences.
IUFLA
Just now, IU Scott said: You are only thinking about two sports men's football and basketball. To me your conference is supposed to be regionally and the last few expanses has killed conferences. If it was up to you, they'd still be jumping center after every basket 😁 Not looking at just "2 sports." UCLA has won National Championships in 20 different sports. USC in 17. The Big 10 network will explode out in LA... 2 2
IUskim
So does this mean bill Walton will call more of our games? 2 4

Be happy we are not Washington St.

I don't care how much those sports won, I am talking about just losing the luster off of what it means to be in a conference. I am talking about how are the other sports going to travel to LA. Might as well just get rid of conferences and have everyone as independents and just put the final nail in what college athletics is supposed to be about. PS, no I don't think there should be a jump ball after every basket. Edited June 30, 2022 by IU Scott

Other view it from their pocketbook...if they don't come into the Big 10, the SEC would eventually be prowling around... And then what? This is the 21st century Scott... Air travel is pretty easy. Put the IU-UCLA women's volleyball game on BTN and it'll more than cover the cost of travel. Edited June 30, 2022 by IUFLA

dwtaylor1055
I for one am looking forward to flying out to LA in mid Jan, wearing me candy stripes and watching IU bball play both USC and UCLA in a three night time span all while soaking in the sun and views LA has to offer.
5fouls
So, i guess the tv commercial that does the Big Ten footprint imagery will have to expand from 30 seconds to 60 seconds to make it all the way across the country.
5fouls
So much for the traditional Rose Bowl matchup.
Indykev
The BIG10 will be in 6 of the 7 top TV markets. This is why they would add the 2. I think more schools are to come.

Seeking6
Count me in the hell yes on this if it happens. Coast to Coast Conference. Keeping up or surpassing the SEC/ACC moves....and headed to USC/UCLA once a year or every other year is fine by me too. Love this move!!
Purdue7
It’s either this or Super Football conferences with IU & Purdue joining Iowa state & Kansas & Vandy in the Super Mac or Little 10😳
Stlboiler23
Sucks for the rest of the Pac12 but I love this move. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see this happen. Travel will be something to keep an eye on but I could see then scheduling teams to play both at USC and at UCLA during a week-trip to minimize issues there. Love this!

5fouls
Why both LA schools? We get the tv market with just one of them. Should have been UCLA and Washington State. Add the Pullman, Washington tv market as well.
