Well there goes the NCAA tournament as we know it. It will eventually be here at power conference teams which is horrible for the game.

If that does happen, that along with some of the other stuff going on might kill my fandom which I never thought could happen. I guess I’ll probably find a way to enjoy what it becomes, but I won’t love it the way I used to.

I am half way there already. I have found myself not watching as much college games as I use to. The other night there was like 3 games on and two was power conference teams. Instead I watched reruns of the Big Bang Theory

Can they fix college basketball officiating?

Need to make the full time employees and during the off season have them watch film and go through classes. Have one governing body over the refs and have them assign the officials instead of the schools or conference scheduling refs.

Yes I do but you didn't read what I said. I still watch every IU game but it is the other games I am not watching as much. Instead of watching UNC vs Ga. Tech I watched the Big Bang Theory

Not necessarily.  I could see this move as a football move only and keeping the NCAA intact for all of the non-revenue sports plus keeping the hoops tournaments in place.  I'm kinda speaking hypothetically here.  I'm not making any kind of predication, though it would make sense from a football standpoint to keep group of 5 schools out and this way they can keep the popular hoops tournament intact.

Another step on the road but the real "beginning of the end" was probably a long time ago. Maybe when they started losing court cases like losing the control of TV rights back in the 80s. That's when the $$ really started growing...
