jojo123
The league set the IU football teams building progress back years and maybe for good? Think how difficult it was for players to stay in the bubble not go out and party with people outside that bubble and get the cold and have to set out two weeks. Our guys played by the league rules and got the buck nuts put to them. Think about the implications of playing in that game. Recruiting would have been a premium and we stacked up well with the Cats and very easily could have won. These same guys don't have the same fire the same swagger. What they look like is a team comprised of a bunch of athletes that believed in their coach and system. Only to be screwed by the money and a corrupt league. Oh there was more evidence of that on Saturday. The message from the league was. Indiana when you win, you still can't win. They sure did put Coach Allen in bad situation. How many targeting calls were not called against PSU? I counted at least 5.

rogue3542
I remember specifically the first play of the 4th quarter (pretty sure that's what it was), there was a hit on Tuttle where I thought, "That's definitely targeting if McFadden's targeting was targeting." The play Penix got hurt was a blatant facemask. The very next play was a sack on Tuttle and was textbook targeting. Neither was called. Meanwhile a Rutgers player was ejected for targeting when he hit an OSU player in the chest. Edited October 4, 2021 by Andy06
hoopsta007
There was a play where one of our guys got wrapped up and the replay showed 2 different targeting violations. You would think that being one of the only reviewable penalties would be enforced properly
jojo123
The best quote of the day came from the so called Rules Expert on targeting. " no targeting was called on the hit, there were several today around college football that were not called. I think we must be evolving." Man they must really hate us?
13th&Jackson
B1G said “that was cute IU, now go play in your room while the adults talk”. That said, losing to TN and Ole Miss in the last two bowl games hurt the program more than what the B1G did.
mrflynn03
Maybe, just maybe if players made fundamental tackles, you know hit and wrap, this targeting thing wouldn’t be necessary. Watched the end of the Oregon/Stanford game. #46 from Oregon just threw himself into the reciever. Had he hit and wrapped he would have made the tackle and stopped a game winning TD. With the 4 team playoff system all those bowl games are meaningless. and after getting hosed from playing for the Big who wants to go play a meaningless bowl. BobSaccamanno
This is embarrassing for the league. Helmet to helmet targeting.

The league not only doesn't care, they actively flaunt it. Last season with the conference championship proved it. It's us against the world. Luckily we have the perfect coach for our situation. Buck up and do what needs to be done. We get to enjoy our victories even more. Nobody said being an Indiana football fan was easy!
slojoe
Interesting scenario with Iowa beating PSU. Say the Hoosiers win out on the season and tie with OSU for the East title. Do we get the title shot no matter what because B1G screwed us last year and changed the rules in the middle of the season?

OSU would have to lose another big ten game for us to tie them. We already have two conference losses where ODU doesn't have a loss. Also PSU would have to lose another conference game as well
slojoe
PSU lost Clifford and two defensive starters in the game. Will have to see what happens with them. The East is stacked. It's very possible that a two or three way tie could happen with teams having 2 losses. Besides it's a hypothetical.

Now this is why our country is in the current crisis its in. At some point the tyrannical regimes have to be destroyed.
