  1. Homely coeds? Ugly campus? Psycho mascot? Can only say 3 syllables--"IU sucks"? Not for me🤣

  3. Disagree that Wisconsin is less talented. Also, to take into consideration, both Wisconsin and Syracuse have coaches who have been there long enough to get their way of doing things in place. Players there have worked under one system since they arrived, knew what to expect when they arrived, and were recruited to fit those systems. Zero of our top 6 players (the starters and Rob) were recruited to play in CMW's system. All of our top 6 players played in a system materially different than what has been installed by CMW and staff. Not pointed directly at you, but what realistic fan really thought that guys that had to learn this system, and unlearn their past, were going to come in and be consistent game in and game out. This season is the starting grounds for hopefully sustained success. This season is for establishing what the program will eventually be known for. Any start up is going to have fits and starts. Steps forward, and steps backwards. Rarely, has a new coach come in, especially when the predecessors left such a mess, and won right away. We have seen improvement. Last year's team would have never fought to overtime v Syracuse and would have been blown out by Wisconsin. May not be the results we all want, but imo a lot of people are getting ahead of themselves and the process.

  4. Over the NYE holiday weekend I finished redoing the sister bedroom to the one I finished over Thanksgiving. Both are being converted to offices. I never remember to get good before and after pics. Pics below will give you a good idea tho. First office with furniture and the second office. Last item to get done is get the ceiling fan I took from the other office correctly wired to work with two switches instead of one and move in the furniture hopefully this weekend.

  5. I think we have a few chances at road wins... We've lost 3 games by a total of 9 points. Not time to throw in the towel just yet... Ohio State at home will be a good measuring stick for us...

  8. There was an article in the local paper yesterday about how Purdue had separated itself from the rest of the conference and was the Big Ten's "super team." And now they're 1-2. Love it.

  9. How do you shoot 40% from three, foul out an entire front line and still manage to lose at home as the #3 team in the country? LOL @ Turdue.

  10. Read through all the comments on this thread and the Apathy thread. Lots of good thoughts and theories. Came to me that what hasn’t been discussed, and in my opinion is what’s missing, is that this team doesn’t have an on the floor leader. No one like Buckner, Zeke, Fife, Sheehey… Mike Lewis even. Someone who would get on their teammates when needed. Someone who wouldn’t take it from the opponents. Hell, Cody even whacked the Illinois big guy when he deserved it. Not sure we’re soft. Just know that leadership is something that doesn’t come naturally to a lot of guys. Hard for a new guy to assume that role. The best guy on the team is a great sound byte, but I don’t think he has it in him. Hoping we can develop a leader. Coaches can only do so much.

  15. Or the scene from Grown UPs 2 when Chris Rock is supposed to fix his mother in laws cable between 8 and 4. He sits outside the house waiting for her to go to bathroom and runs and rings doorbell and leaves.

  16. IMO, it’s a lack of talent in our 1-3 positions. None of our 1-3 starters or bench players would start for any top 25 team. It’s really as simple as that. None of them can create for their own shot, except maybe Bates. None of them can break a guy down for an easier entry pass. And none of them possess high basketball IQ either. My solution, change of lineup. Rob has outplayed X the last month. Rob, Bates, Stewart, Race, TJD. Kopp and Stewart are too much alike and shouldn’t start as wings together. Bates brings more athleticism. Kopp first man off the bench for Race. Yes we’ll lose rebounding, but that allows a true 4 out. Race subs back in for TJD when he needs a breather. TJD shouldn’t play less than 34 minutes unless in foul trouble. Rob, Bates and Geronimo need to play more. Kopp and X less.

  19. Wisky wasn't a bad loss in the sense that IU shouldn't have lost to them, but in the way it happened. IU had a blistering 1st half, and then went stone cold and still could've won but didn't. Not so much negativity as frustration.

  20. I think all that played a part, the admin just decided to coast on past accomplishments thinking Indiana was going to Indiana and it hurt us. Also we were not committed to playing the recruiting "game" of the late 90's up through NIL. I think we may have dipped our toe in from time to time, but the programs we used to compare ourselves too went all in.

  21. That's the tough part. Guy on DP was saying it's well known Green Bay loves Draft picks so Denver has been organizing themselves for that along with players. Problem for AR is he's in the most winnable division in football...that has to factor in a bit. AFC West? That's not a retirement plan.

  23. They play well in the other facets of the game. They keep themselves in 3rd and manageable(something the Colts didn't do AT ALL Sunday), they are very underrated defensively, and I would assume their TD % in the RZ is very good. They have also had a tremendous amount of fortunate events go their way- Tyquan Lewis intercepting a pass and tearing his ACL causing him to fumble would be at the top of that list. My only point is, you can absolutely STILL win in the league with someone not named Rodgers, Mahomes, or Allen. I thought the Colts, as a team, sucked Sunday. Wentz included.

  24. As far as any towel pitching, I was speaking strictly for myself 😉 But I do understand the concern...on your points...I agree with the assessment on everything except the coaching staff and what their influence is going to be on this team...Too early to tell for me...

  25. I am not throwing in the towel, just being realistic. We have the same issues we have had in the past with a different cast. We are not very athletic, we don't have guys who can create their own shot, aren't mentally tough, we can't dominate on the offensive, defensive, rebounding and when we sub the team gets worse. The only difference is the coaching staff and so far I am not impressed.

  26. Years ago when I first heard the buzz about Three Floyds I tried Gumballhead and Robert the Bruce. I liked Robert the Bruce better. Still do. The thing I like about craft beers is you can drink stronger ones and not have to drink as much. Kind of a way to diet

  27. QB play and criticism of it just wears me out. For example: I've had multiple people tell me how absolutely pathetic Carson was on Sunday, and ok, he obviously wasn't good. But... look at some of these numbers Player A- 13/18 120 yards 1TD W Player B- 17/26 214 yards OTDs W Player C- 24/46 123 yards 1TD 1INT W Wentz- 17/28 148 yards 1TD How are Carson's #s THAT much different and those teams found a way to win? Why couldn't we? Now, our D has given up two game winning drives at home, to lose a game. I love our defense, they weren't perfect Sunday, no one was. I just get fed up with people not understanding the way the Colts are built, everything has to function together, no one part can be "weak". The only facet of the game that we "won" on Sunday was the turnover battle, literally that's it. I think coming into the season if someone would have said through 16 games Carson Wentz was going to play 99% of the snaps, be 26/6 TD/INT ratio, and his QBR be in the top 10. I think any fan should be more than pleased with that.

  29. Apathy has actually set in for me with the whole NBA. I haven't watched a game all season and only a couple the last few seasons. I used to watch three or four games a week no matter who the teams were. There is just no interest or excitement in it for me anymore.

  32. I think the only blowouts we're going to see in the Big 10 this year are when some of the weaker teams play on the road...when they're at home, it's anybody's ballgame... That Nebraska game at Lincoln we have coming up in a couple weeks has me concerned...

  34. 70th ranked defense is not going to cut it. And Painter is a good coach, but he's not thaaaat good. And he's definitely never been in this position before, where PU is the hunted.

  35. Any team that (up until last couple weeks) had people on here talking about Final 4's and Big 10 championships can't lose that one at home...and that was with Wiscy going 6-24 from 3. Tough one for sure and weird start to conference reset for many.

  37. Couple of more interesting Big 10 games tonight, both at 7 PM EST... Michigan (7-5 1-1 in Big Ten) Rutgers (7-5 1-1 in Big 10) on BTN...Michigan is 1-2 on the road, and Rutgers is 7-1 at home...Just ask Purdue Illinois (9-3 2-0 in Big 10) at Minnesota (10-1 1-1 in Big 10) on FS1...The Barn is one of the hardest venues for a road team to steal one, especially teams that rely on shooters...And what's the Illini's answer to Jamison Battle?

  38. I would trade you Hunter & Thompson for Rob…..at least he can dribble and play defense
    2 points
  39. I am afraid if you put Rob back in the hot seat he will go back to dribbling it into the floor. We're getting his best because he doesn't have to be the "Starter".

  41. Posted this on 12/31 on the other board: I'm not comparing them to IU. I'd saying losing their first road game to Rutgers after being number one for like two days is not a great start to the BIG. They are very good. But that was a bad loss and they should have lost to NC State too. They also just gave up 90 points (54 in the second half) to Nichols. So anyone thinking they're going to roll through the BIG ten is mistaken. Don't get me wrong they are good and the favorites, but it'll be interesting to see what their record is when it's all said and done.

  42. It's not negativity, its reality. IU hasn't had elite wings/guards in 5 to 6 years.

  45. Yet, somehow we managed to lead v Wisconsin for 90% of the game

  46. Watching this game makes me realize I know the difference from those teams and IU. We don't have a wing scorer like Davis or Ivey.

  48. Similar to Matt Ryan. Ryan holds the most yards and completions ever for a QB through first 13 seasons and most ever for first 14 seasons but somehow his career will be defined by 28-3.
