  1. Nice story on Kooper Jacobi. And, there is some direct references to Kaufman that support what @hoosierfan34says above. https://www.newsandtribune.com/sports/boys-basketball-jacobi-ready-for-senior-season/article_9cd66f4c-c0a6-11ea-b148-9f5b590e7446.html
  2. Based on the timing of everything, Jimmie Johnson was not infected for the 14 days we keep hearing about. He passed a Covid test in order to race at Pocono. Seven days later (presumably), he fails a test and has to sit out at Indy. And, now, in the course of 4-5 days after that he passes not one, but two tests, So, in less than 14 days, he's tested at least 4 times. Passed 3, failed 1. Either one or more of the tests is not accurate, or he kicked this virus's butt in just a handful of days. Certainly did not take him 14 days if, in fact, he actually had the virus.
  3. This begs the question. If someone like Isaac Haas gave you a pair of Purdue shorts, would you wear them? If not, what would you do with them?
  4. Who gets Jimmie Johnson for the next couple of weeks?
  5. Shame on any parents that named a newborn Alexa in the last couple of years.
  6. Ryder Cup postponed until 2021. Sigh. https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/29425201/source-ryder-cup-postponed-2021-presidents-cup-pushed-back
  7. The number of cases for today is partially due to underreporting over the holiday weekend. Tomorrow will give us a more accurate picture.
  8. Imagine getting to say that 9 times each year.
  9. I have not tried their frozen pizza, but the Home Run Inn pizza I had at Midway airport in Chicago is easily the worst pizza I have ever eaten. Will never eat there again.
  10. I like Tombstone. I cook it about 10 minutes longer than the direction suggest to burn the cheese. My family refuses to eat one that I cook.
  11. Used to love Pizza King. But, the one in New Albany went from our favorite to we wont go there any more bad. There is a place called Topp't in New Albany that we really like.
  12. I don't imagine that the dealer will tell that story to any prospective buyers.
  13. My kids are still in high school, but I'm concerned for them. High school was the best time of my life. Will they be able to have the same types of experiences? What type of economy will we have 5 years from now? Will college campuses ever get back to 'normal'?' I don't want my kids to have an online education.
  14. As a reminder, numbers on Tuesday are almost always the highest of the week, as counties/states that do not report over the weekend catch up on their reporting. And, with this past weekend being a holiday, expect the daily number inflation to be even bigger than normal. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday numbers are usually the best barometer of where we stand.
  15. If this lingers much longer, it could impact the quality of life of today's generation for the rest of their lives. Missed opportunities Socio-Economic hardships Memories that should be there, but aren't It sucks.
  16. One 'silver lining' in the death rate is that other states started high, but it started to go down after the most susceptible passed away.
  17. Before some eager beaver in the media tries to point to the huge spike of new cases in Kentucky today, please note that the state did not report anything on either day of the holiday weekend. Today's number is 3 days' worth.
  18. Hate Chicago Style Pizza Prefer thin & Crispy, but can eat thicker crusts as well. Hawaiian Pizza is my favorite. Ham and Pineapple are a perfect match.
  19. From personal experience, I would not recommend that to anyone. The things they did to me.....
  20. I have an unhealthy fan/man crush on Mahomes. He is exactly what a face of a franchise should be.
  21. Gibraltar is usually rock solid in what they do.
  22. I think a lot of the issue in the U.S. is the number of Americans that feel some sort of sense of entitlement. When I see pictures 3rd world countries where everyone has a mask on, it disheartens me that we cant get there in the U.S. That said, I think the U.S. is reporting differently than many countries, Some countries likely don't have the capacity to count their dead. Others like China and Russia obviously under-report. And, finally, it's possible that the virus simply hits certain populations harder. The U.S and Eastern European cultures are very similar, and both of those have been hit very hard. Meanwhile, places like Japan are coming through very well. Could be that cultural factors, even down to something like diet, are playing a part.
  23. As far as ICU capacity, I can only speak from my personal experiences. In 2015, my brother was in ICU for just under 3 weeks until he passed. At no time during those 3 weeks was the ICU not at or very near capacity. If a room opened up to to discharge or death, it was filled within a matter of hours. My mom has been in and out of ICU multiple times in the last half-dozen years. In a couple of those instances, she had to spend time in a regular bed until ICU space opened up. My point is that ICU capacity can be misleading, both ways. If a hospital that typically runs at 90% capacity is now at 95% capacity because of Covid, that's not in and of itself alarming, rather just a slight deviant from the norm. At the same time, if a hospital is at 40% ICU capacity, it's not necessarily a good thing if the hospital normally runs at 20% capacity. The problem with the numbers that are thrown around (from both sides) is that they are meaningful only when taken into context. Even the number of deaths, which is ultimately how this disease should be judged, can be misleading. Even taking away the 'of Covid' and 'with Covid' argument, things like the age of those that die is important. If 60% of the deaths in a community/city/state are people over 80, that is meaningful as it relates to how society should react. By contrast, if 60% of the deaths were school aged children, then you shut down schools. But, if only a fraction of one percent of deaths are school aged children, you leave schools open and take steps to protect those in the community that are at risk.
  24. Arizona's raw numbers may not match those of Florida or Texas, but a large part of that is the overall population difference. From my perspective, Arizona is in a ,much darker place right now than either of those other states. I mean, Texas's number of cases per $1MM population still lags behind Indiana's and at no type in this process has Indiana been considered to be a hot spot.
  25. Yet, a few weeks back when I posted FACTUAL information about the DC numbers that contradicted a blatantly false and misleading story ran by a major media outlet, I was the one that was accused of having an agenda. Yes, that's still a sore spot with me. Not saying this about you, but there are people that only complain about false and misleading information when it does not fit their narrative.
