Selling all his Illini gear because he wasn't coming back only to get suspended because he came back would have to be one for the ages....even in Illini world.

PS....would be so NCAA to suspend a kid for selling tshirts out of his trunk for chump change yet we have guys like Will Wade, the entire Louisville basketball program,etc....not even being penalized.

If I were an Illini fan I'd be more concerned about giving up 80 points to a D2 squad and Curbelo's 10 turnovers.

Yeah, rumors are 4-8 games which is ridiculous, but it's the NCAA. Do you risk having those games be later in the season by appealing or just take it?

Defense was not good with Frazier and Williams out, but it's an exhibition game and Indiana is really good. Uh, Indiana (PA) that is. 😁

Do you know what the format was in the scrimmage.  I just read Bruce Pearl comment about their scrimmage.  The first half was a normal 20 minute game.  The second half was 2 4 minute end of game situation.

Not sure.  Supposedly Durr, Kopp and Bates didn't play.  The injuries continue.

Not directed at you at all, but Al Durham’s inability to use his brain on the court was the reason he didn’t have more games like this at IU. We keep piling on CAM like everything was his fault. We had A LOT of low IQ guys left over from the Crean era that he should have “Creaned” from the get-go.

Kopp played...

I don't know what to make of all of the secrecy surrounding the scrimmage...this fan base is hungry for good news, and even a simple box score would be welcomed...

Speaking of piling on, it's amazing we're still blaming players for Archie's failures. Al Durham was never coached by Tom Crean. Archie Miller was his coach for four years. Maybe the claim is that low IQ is endemic, and Archie did the best he could with a player he would never have recruited? If so, it's remarkably poor timing to be making that claim after Al had a great performance in his first appearance under a different coach.

Even granting your premise, Al played the second most minutes on the team last season, behind only Trayce. As a junior, he saw more minutes than any other guard, and was behind behind only Trayce and Justin Smith. So either Archie couldn't see that Al Durham was low IQ, or he was never able to add a better guard to the roster to replace this leftover Crean recruit. Either way, yeah, it was Archie's fault.

Yeap, you’re right…. CAM’s fault for not “Creaning” him from the get-go (supposedly wasn’t allowed by administration) and not being able to replace him. We already know CAM wasn’t able to recruit shooters, which ultimately did him in.  Doesn’t change the fact AD’s basketball IQ was poor. I didn’t realize people were piling on AD. But you’re praising him for having a great SCRIMMAGE after 4 years of poor decision making / mediocrity at IU? What kind of wager would you like to make on his upcoming season?
