Freshman MR and senior TW isn’t a bad comparison. MR isn’t fat like TW was though and has a much higher ceiling.

I think we will hit some threes, but 12 and 13 aren’t sustainable. We have a team that appears willing to take what it’s given on offense that can score at multiple levels.

This is what I said, and he argued with it @IU Scott and felt the need to come back and say this was somehow wrong.

I agree on your second point that we all knew the starters would play more minutes, so when someone asks about the rotation getting shorter that implies less guys playing. I even asked him who wouldn’t play from our 9 man rotation and he didn’t clarify by saying he thought they’d all play, just less minutes. So yeah, the point he was seemingly making leading up to the game was about how many guys would play.

Yeah that wasn’t the discussion. It was about how many guys would be in the rotation. Ive been consistent in saying I thought TJD would still play big minutes in our games against real competition and Geronimo would be the one seeing a big decrease in role. The minutes were distributed last night almost exactly how I’ve expected they would for a while now.

I mean I said the minutes distribution would change, and it did, but we played the same 9 man rotation we’ve been playing. No one would reasonably read the comments you made leading up to the game as simply saying TJD was going to play a lot more than 22 MPG. Shortening a 9 man rotation means less than 9 guys playing…

How was it shortened? Did we not see the same 9 man rotation we’ve been playing?

Yeah I’m not comparing skill set or even saying he’s as good of a player, just saying for fans in their mid 30s and younger he’s probably turned into the best player any of us can remember.

This. There’s a lot to be said about your fifth best starter being an experienced guy who doesn’t make mistakes, plays solid defense, and can hit clutch shots when you need him.

They would have had the possession anyway, only the two free throws were extra.

I said it in the game thread, but I was born in 88 and right now he is probably the best IU player in my memory. Not saying he’s better than Cheney but I’m in my mid 30s and don’t remember Cheney.

I went TJD but could’ve gone X. We don’t win without both of them. We really got going when X got going in the first half. TJD was great throughout.

Not sure I agree. He didn’t shoot well but he wasn’t bad tonight.

I think we were a tad hard on Miller early in the game. Theres more that goes into who plays than if shots are going in or not. Coaches tend to look at the inputs as much as the outcomes, fans just look at outcomes typically.

Yeah but he’s just not ready for minutes in that environment. He’s got a ton of upside but not ready yet IMO.

Bates wasn’t good either. Thats our weak spot, it is what it is. We are great at guard and great down low, and up and down on the wing.

Great win! That was a tough environment in our first real test, and first road game. Really happy with the overall effort. Definitely some things we can clean up and work out, but that can wait. Tonight we enjoy a great win!

I don't have a solid memory of Calbert or Henderson, thus I said my memory. Not all of us claim crystal clear memories from when we were 6

That said, I'd have loved to see Zeller in a fourth season. Who knows how good he might have been at that point.

TJD is better than Zeller.
