  1. Regardless of what their stats are, I think most of us can agree that RP and Lander’s jobs aren’t to be scorers when they are out on the court. I think it’s clear that Woodson wants his PG to be able to run the team and facilitate on the court. Yes Lander has been a better scorer so far, but I don’t think that’s what Woodson is really looking for from him.

I would hope it wouldn't be when you're 20 and someone is already giving you the opportunity of a lifetime, but I certainly get what you're saying.

Yeah it’s certainly not ideal and unfortunate that that has to happen for some players. You have to wonder how much of that is fueled by what kids are being told while growing up as a gifted athlete and how much that gets to their head.

It all begins with parenting and teaching kids civility...

    A lost art I think...

Agree 100%. Personally, I think good parenting and a stable home is the biggest predictor for success. Slightly different topic but I think it’s applicable here. Everything becomes so much easier growing up if you have good parents there to teach you how to be a good person and make the right decisions.

I’m struggling to see how some of you are getting on Race but not Trayce? Is one turnover really that different?

They both turned it over way too much but we don’t get to that point without both of them.

Personally, Race’s turnovers stick out more in my head than Trayce’s do. Actually I thought Race would’ve had several more turnovers strictly based off what I remember watching. Regardless, both of them have to do a better job of just holding onto the ball. There were probably 4-5 times where they literally just let the ball slip through their hands. Can’t have that

Ok , didn’t know where to ask this question so sorry!
What does the stat +/- after each player mean and how is it figured!

That is just the scoring difference for that player’s team vs the opposing team while that player is on the floor. If the opposing team scores more in the time the player is on the court, then the number is negative. It is meant to give an idea of how effective/impactful that player is while on the floor.

Couple of thoughts.  When coach did the wholesale substitution in the first half i went into panic mode, and boy was i right!!!  I wouldn't bring Durr to the game let alone PLAY HIM. He plays like he's five ft TALL! I'm comfortable with Bates, hoping Geronimo had a bad night, still have BIG doubts about Lander. I hoe Rob and Trey get healthy, they can help, but only with LIMITED minutes.  Wooden won all those championships playing 6 or 7 players. Thats how many we should play! Bright spots, TJD, PS, X, Bates, Race, Kopp was solid. Brightest spot was Coach figured out he needed to keep the PLAYERS ON THE FLOO!!  I don't think Archie was smart enough to do that! Playing 6 or 7, this team can be really good.

Agree on a few points… but to be fair I don’t think Archie ever had 6 players as good as that on one team. But that’s in the past and there’s really no need for us to discuss that. I agree that our bench needs to shorten up in games like this. I thought Woody did a good job managing the game and getting the right players in the game in the 2nd half.

  7. If anyone argues that trayce isn’t the most important player every single game then they need to watch this first half. Him just being in the floor makes a night and day difference. I don’t see anyone saying that but it’s becoming quite evident tonight.
