I don't think anyone is advocating cheating. Maybe "stretch, the rules a little, but not cheating.

    At least that's my take....

The thing is this guy tried to do more then stretch the rules, he tried to go full nuclear. Hopefully that is a thing of the past with him.

Cleared is only in the legal sense.  His intent was to commit the crime. He just didn’t have anything worth paying for, so he got lucky.  That’s not functioning in the grey area or exploiting a loophole.  He wanted to cross the line.

People keep saying that they don't care about going in the grey area somewhat, I am ok with it to a point, but this guy was way past the grey area. And like you said the only reason he was cleared is because what he was selling wasn't being bought. I guess we will see how things turn out if they hire him, it could be a good hire or one that could backfire on Coach Woodson.

If Franklin does move, which is starting to look like a good possibility, Virginia would be a good spot for him. If he goes there I can still cheer him on since he won't be at Turdue Illinois or Kensucky lol. 👍

I can attest its beautiful. I work downtown Naples but I live in Estero because the housing costs are astronomical...and I bought over a year ago before SW Florida became the hottest real estate market in the country. We have realters mailing us everyday asking us to sell and homes are selling 10-15% over asking price. I was told my house could fetch another 40k over what I bought it for last year (but where would I go??) It's wonderful that we basically haven't had all our freedoms destroyed and been almost entirely open since the pandemic started. Add the sun, the beach, probably more restaurants per capita than anywhere I've ever been and its pretty nice! I just hope all the people moving down here to get away from their high taxes and their govt overreach leave their politics back north with them so we can continue to live in the "paradise" we all came here for. If anyone knows of an IU hangout for game days let me know. I'd love to meet up with fun IU fans....once we are winning again.....for now I choose to watch at home where I can be miserable and complain all I want in peace.

I don't know about any IU hangouts but I know when I stayed in Cape Coral there was a mostly Colts Bar right off of Santa Barbara. That's been about ten years ago so might not be there now.

More of a general question/comment about transfer portal. Did the NCAA ever think about the ramifications of granting everyone an extra year of eligibility and the chaos that would create? Here's my example. Good friend of mine has a son who plays college football. When they chose the school for him it was because depth chart at TE was 2 seniors meaning his son would wait his turn as a freshman (this year)knowing they would be gone and playing time would be there next year.

Now both seniors are going to return to get Masters and my friends kid will be using his 2nd year of eligibility next year mostly not playing again. They are looking into transferring now. Just curious what people think about extra year for everyone.

I don't think the NCAA ever thinks about what they are doing, most of what they do is reactive. If they did it wouldn't be the chaos it is for transfers right now.

I don't necessarily have a problem with the extra year because of the circumstances, but they really need to get a handle on everything next year.

Agreed. I think CMW was low on most people's list, including myself, and I'll admit I was disappointed in the hire and have been very pleasantly surprised by everything that has happened so far. I wouldn't necessarily call it a "negative" reaction, just more surprised that it wasn't someone else.

Like you I was disappointed in the hire but so far I have been pleasantly surprised with what has happened. Now with that being said I won't be 100% happy with the hire until IU actually starts playing some games and showing they can win consistently.

Really curious to see what Woodson's recruiting strategy is going to be more long term.

I mean less style of play/player, but more talent level. Will he be more in the get old,, stay old mold with a more regional approach, or being a guy with over 40 years of NBA experience, is he going to want to swing big and use that NBA pedigree to up IU's recruiting game nationally with top players.

I think that is one thing he has not really been asked or addressed yet.

While I like bringing in regional kids I think he needs to go more nationally. I think it would benefit IU overall.

Not sure where to put this...but I think this is huge in how IU is (perhaps?) trying to be a trendsetter for recruiting with some of the new NCAA rules perhaps changing...this could be huge with recruits. I like it!

For being "irrelevent" like some other teams fans like to claim, having the second most followed twitter account seems pretty good. Goodmans obsessive tweeting about IU tells you all you need to know about were IU stands in the college basketball landscape, they are worried IU that will get back on top.

Perfectly said. I feel the same way. I rooted for Justin this year to be successful. It would be hard if a kid went to our rival and played against us. I can see how fans would feel and honestly who am I to tell a fan how to be a fan. I will just control my own fandom unless it crossed the line of the kid's safety and well being (like hate mail/threats etc). Armaan has the right to choose...and we have the right to move on. Again...I hope we see him back but IU will still play ball with or without him.

I have to admit if Armaan would happen to choose to transfer to one of Purdue Kentucky or Illinois there is no way I would root for him. Now if he did decide to transfer and it wasn't one of those three schools I would cheer him on wherever it is.

Hopefully none of this matters and he decides to stay. I think he could have a big year for IU next season.
